Re: Covington Independent Public Schools
Dear Ms. Stewart:
‘The City of Covington has requested that the United States agree to remove the first
sentence of Paragraph 15 and all of Paragraph 18 from the Settlement Agreement between the
United States and the District to facilitate the placement of a law enforcement officer from the
City of Covington Police Department at Holmes High School. In recognition of the progress the
District has made to date in implementing the Settlement Agreement at the High School, we
agree to the removal of those particular provisions. The rest of the Settlement Agreement,
including the limitations in Paragraphs 15(a)-15(c), remains in full effect.
Let me know if you have questions or wish to discuss this matter further.
Sincerely,
James A.
‘Trial Attorney
