St. Joseph’s Cemetery Committee Announcement

In an effort to enhance and beautify the appearance of the St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery, the cemetery
committee is accepting donations to remove the front/north fence, replacing it with a maintenance-free
black Ameristar Montage Majestic style fence with limestone columns at an estimated cost of approximately
$30,000. The committee would sincerely appreciate parish and community donations to help with this cost;
and checks can be made payable and mailed to St. Joseph’s Church (write “Cemetery” on the memo line).

Thanks for your Prayers and your Advocacy. The Kansas House of
Representatives and Senate have both approved the Adoption Protection Act. Governor Colyer
has promised to sign the bill into law when it reaches his desk. This legislation will protect
religiously motivated adoption providers like Catholic Charities from attack by hostile government
agencies and political activists, which has unfortunately happened in other states. Faith based
adoption providers in Kansas will now be protected in their work serving the common good. This
moment would not have been possible without the efforts of the many people who contacted
their legislators over the last several months. Thank you to all who participated in this campaign.

“The St Anne’s Officers extend a heartfelt thank you to the parish community for the dedication,
efforts, wonderful attitudes, smiles, and willingness to cover your shift and those of others. We greatly
appreciate your thoughtfulness and unselfishness at the festival.
Thank you to everyone who boiled chickens in advance, donated butter, pop, money, desserts and salads
for the festival dinner, baked goodies for the country store, and prizes for the raffle and games.
A very special thank you to the St Anne Officers and their husbands that gave up their entire weekend
in preparation of the festival: Carolyn, Carol, Lindsey, Aubrey, Jade, Joe, Mike I and Ryan, and Mike
R and Mike S. And a special thank you to the “angels” of the weekend including Debbie, Garrett,
Cheyanne, Dorothy, and Peggy. We even had a couple of extra scrapers, Reece and Bryle, who came to
help their grandparents. Every helping hand made the work less burdensome for the rest.
Thank you to Kathy Redeker for heading the raffle, the CCD students selling tickets and those who
purchased tickets. Thank you to Games committee for their hard work to provide entertainment for the
kids outside. Thank you to the publicity staff, and Chicken House, the hall decorators, people who did
the hard labor setting up and tearing down tables, chairs, and game boards for the dinner, games, and
bingo.
Every person should be identified and thanked personally for their time and work; so if you weren’t
mentioned some way in this thank you note, please know you were noticed. Lord Jesus Christ brought
our parish community together, and together we work for the good of the parish.
We will publish the spring festival results in the coming weeks.”
……….Kim Irwin, St. Anne’s President

“A huge THANK YOU goes out to the Circle 2 members that came to help clean
the school basement in preparation for the Spring festival. Many hands
does make light work! Thank you so much!”
…….. Circle Leader- Carolyn Cole

Famous Last Words

Before ascending into heaven, Jesus told his disciples to “Go out into all the world and tell
the Good News.” As married couples, we have a very specific piece of good news to
proclaim: that lifelong love is possible! In our current culture, this is a message that young
people desperately need to hear. Since married love is meant to image Christ’s love for the
Church, our message is the very heart of the Gospel! Here are some simple ways to share
it:
• Talk to your spouse about hurts between you rather than your friends.
• Invite other couples over to cultivate couple-friendship(even if it’s pizza and the
house isn’t clean)!
• Volunteer together by mentoring the engaged or starting a parish marriage ministry.

Father,
I have knowledge, so will You show me now,
How to use it wisely and find a way somehow
To make the world I live in a little better place,
And make life with its problems a little bit easier to face.
Grant me faith and courage and put purpose in my days,
And show me how to serve Thee in effective ways.
So my education, my knowledge and my skill
May find their true fulfillment as I learn to do Thy will.
And may I ever be aware in everything I do,
That knowledge comes from learning, and wisdom comes from You.
Amen.
