1. Who was your audience in the first draft of your report? How did that audience influence
the decision you made while creating your draft? My audience in my first draft was the
citizens of Albuquerque who want to see a change in the city for the better. The way it
influenced me by forcing me to propose ideas that would catch their attention and excite
them. A) My audience stayed the same and the way I revised it to keep them in mind was
trying to make it clearer on who the audience was. In the first draft, I struggled in doing
2. After the revision, how would you define the purpose of your rec. report and how did that
purpose influence the decisions you made while reconstructing and implementing more
detail into your report? I defined the purpose of my rec. report by letting the citizens
know that this would help them economically which then would relieve stress making
them more emotionally stable. That purpose influenced me to add actual graphs and
actually state how the relief of financial stress would lead to them being happy and would
3. What would you change about your draft if you had more time, resources and/or
knowledge? I would change the detail like I used (cleaned it up making it look sharper)
and I would also do hands on interviews with someone from the city council or the
mayor’s office on how they have tried solving this situation in the past.
4. What feedback do you want to receive from me, your instructor that you found helpful
for this revision? I want to be told what I did wrong obviously but also what I didn’t fix
that you told me needed fixing from the rough draft revision or if you could see I made
changed the sloppiness of the formatting and text because if a report looks terrible it will
immediately put a bad taste and disinterest in the audience’s mouth. Then, I actually
included graphs and statistics so they could visually see the data and issue in the
community. Finally, I fixed the conclusion by making it longer and actually tying it all
together so it ended well and covered all topics. A) the minor thins were aligning the
borders and putting the font size all the same so it didn’t look terrible.
6. From this final recommendation report/analytical report what do you believe the purpose
of the methodology you created was? I think the purpose of mine was to give the
audience actual examples/ideas that have worked in the past and why they can work for
Albuquerque.
7. When analyzing the results of that methodology, do you believe the audience has shifted
or remained the same? I think the audience ended up staying the same.
8. Is your report visually appealing? What visuals have you incorporated to make more
meaning for results? My report is visually appealing because its clean and doesn’t have
30 different pictures or graphs popping out at you at once being overwhelming. I added
9. This is the first written text that has no multimodal component to it. How do you think
this text can be enhanced? Or does this text serve a larger audience in its written capacity
vs. audio (for example)? I Think this text serve a larger audience in this form because you
can put it not only in the newspaper but online and on social media as well.
10. Many of the documents we have composed in this class can have a rigid composure, what
in this report made it easier or harder to create each section? I think not being able to
actually say, “hey this is what you should do” in the recommendation portion of it.
You’re so used to being able to suggest stuff in that form so not doing it was a difficult
change.
