Dear Parish Family,
Today is the 25th Sunday in Ordinary Time and the day
for our annual Parish Picnic. The picnic, for me, is one of
the highlights of the year, for it brings the parish family
together to have fun, enjoy some good food, and the
company of one another.
It’s a chance to see friends and make new ones.
I thank Rudy Schwarz, Deacon Tony, and the team that
has organized, set up, and cooked, and the team who will
help to clean up. I also thank everyone who will bring food
to share as part of our International Food Table. We are
blessed to be a parish made up of diverse cultural
backgrounds. There is a richness in that diversity, and
while we may come from different backgrounds, we are
united in one faith around the table/altar of the Lord. It is
that unity of one faith and one baptism that make up our
parish.
Our parish, as you know, is celebrating it’s 60th
Anniversary this year. On Sunday, November 7th, at 3
PM, Bishop Flesey will celebrate a special Liturgy to
commemorate this important milestone. All are invited.
Following the Mass there is a Gala dinner at the
Hasbrouck Heights Hilton. Some tickets are still available
– please see the bulletin for more information.
On the weekend of November 13th – 14th we will have a
special 60th anniversary display of photos and other
memorabilia in the auditorium after all the Masses. I’ve
been looking through the many items that our parish
family has loaned to us, and I’ve enjoyed not only reading
our history, but also learning about the foundations of so
many priests, sisters, and laity that helped to build up our
parish community.
The story of our parish continues and now the
responsibility of passing on the faith and giving witness to
Christ is ours. Hopefully, when future generations
celebrate other important milestones in the life of the
parish, they will look back on this time as one of bringing
forth a bountiful harvest for the Lord.

Treasure and for all that you do for the life of the parish.

Mark This Year's Calendar - November 7, 2010
Our 60th Anniversary Gala will begin with Mass at 3 pm
celebrated by Bishop John Flesey, D.D.. Mass will be
followed by a reception from 5 - 9 pm at the Hasbrouck
Heights Hilton. Good food, fun, fellowship, and great
dancing with a fabulous live band.
There are still some tickets available for our gala.
Hurry and order yours today. The deadline is Sept. 30.

MASS OF ANOINTING
On Saturday, October 16, 2010, our parish will celebrate
a communal Anointing of the Sick Mass at 11:00 am and
blessing of the E.M.Ts. This sacrament may be received
more than once and is for any person who has become ill
and is in danger of subsequent sickness. We especially
encourage the elderly to be candidates, but anyone facing
major surgery, a serious illness, or anyone who has been
afflicted for a long time is invited to receive the sacrament.
A light lunch will be served in our auditorium immediately
following the Mass.

2ND ANNUAL SPIRITUAL ADOPT-A-BABY SHOWER
The Respect Life Committee will be holding our 2nd annual
baby shower on the weekend of October 2&3 after all the
Masses. Please consider donating any type of baby item
(diapers, lotion, toy, etc). or making a monetary donation to this
important Life activity. All donations will go to Birthright in
Maywood and Good Counsel Services. When you participate in
this activity, you are showing your support for women who have
chosen life for their babies. Help us strive to make abortions a

Your baby is approaching his 9th month of development. He
continues to gain weight and has developed a layer of fat that
will keep him warm after he is born. He is shifting to a head-

EVERY THURSDAY EVENING AT 7:30 PM!
DOORS OPEN AT 5:30 PM!
We appreciate the support that you have shown in the past
at various functions. We hope that you will continue your
support. We play a few different games aside from the
regular BINGO games. SMOKE FREE!
If we work together, we can make BINGO the successful
FUND RAISER it could be.

After the super 50/50 proceeds our fund is up to

RCIA: Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults
RCIA is a process of faith formation for people who may want
to become a member of the Catholic Faith Community.
Some people may not belong to any religion and may not
have been baptized. This may be for you!
Some people may have been baptized in another religion but
wish to become Catholic. This may be for you!
Some people may already be Catholic through baptism but
have never received the Sacraments of Holy Eucharist and/or
