Re: DA for the proposed dance studios pace at 31 – 45 Thistle St West, South
Launceston – Door of Hope site.
This document outlines and addresses the relevant planning standards, and should be cross-
referenced with drawings A0-000 to A2-001 dated 14/2/18 by S. Group.
Overview:
31-45 Thistle St West is the site of The Door of Hope Christian Church complex including
existing warehouse and storage spaces.

Proposed is the change of use for a portion of the warehouse area to be used for a dance
studio.
The studio will operate between 5pm and 9pm on weeknights, have 0.5 FTE staff, and 30
students.
It is intended that amplification will be provided for playing music. A portable PA system with
a 121 dB peak or equivelant is to be used for amiplification. It should be noted that the
proposed studio is situated approximately 60m from the nearest sensitive use site.
