To Whom It May Concern:

This letter is in recommendation of Connie Li. I have known Connie for four years. It has been
my pleasure to have her as a student in Advanced Placement United States History (a dual
credit course with Ivy Tech Community College). Connie has also been a dedicated member
of the National Honor Society for which I am on the faculty council. I have similarly had the
pleasure of teaching an older sibling of Connie’s allowing me to have grown to know Connie,
and her family, very well as students and most importantly as people. She is not only a
member of NHS, but is a member of the Seymour High School marching band, varsity tennis
and swimming teams, Latin Club, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, along with participating in
many other volunteer and youth activities. At the same time Connie has held a part time job all
while maintaining the very highest of academic standards.

Connie is the type of student, club member, or teammate that enthusiastically works well and
interacts well with all other students. She has the ability to bring a friendly smile, a positive
attitude, and a great effort to every situation and hurdle to be accomplished. I have found her
to be a concerned and caring comrade to fellow students, club members, or teammates, as
well as, a concerned and caring member of the greater Seymour community at large. Connie
has consistently shown herself to be a positive role model for other peers, students, and for
the young ladies of this community. She is a leader in every sense of the word. Connie has
volunteered at local community shelters, is a chair leader and section leader within the band,
and volunteers as a Chinese translator. She is mature and responsible beyond her years. This
is displayed through her organizational skills, goal setting, and personal work ethic. However, I
find Connie’s empathy to those who are less fortunate than her to be what speaks the most
significantly of what kind of person she truly is at heart. This element of her personality says
more that any accomplishments in the classroom or on the fields of completion could about
the wonderful young lady she has grown to become.

I believe Connie will be highly successful in her post-secondary academic. Connie’s older
brother currently attends Cornell University of the Ivy League. I believe this gives her unique
insight into the demands of the most elite levels of academia. I believe Connie is ready and
prepared to achieve academic excellence at the highest. She has proven herself to be a
person that will deal with triumph and failure through her positive life skills and will enjoy
sharing her abilities, successes, and talents with the community around her. I give Connie my
full and complete recommendation without hesitation.

Sincerely,

Mr. Shane Fallis
