A request to the 9:00a.m. Monday hikers – Please try to bring the correct change to pay fees. More and more
people are bringing $5.00 bills to pay the $4.00 fee. While this is fine occasionally, when too many people do
it we have no change to give you.

A Note From The President: - As you all probably know, parking in any of the Halton Conservation areas is
no longer free with a Bruce Trail membership card. Because so many of our Monday morning hikes involve
parking at one of Halton's areas, your club has purchased four (4) family annual passes. Each pass is good for
a vehicle and every one in it. The Halton Conservation Areas are Kelso, Hilton Falls, Rattlesnake Point,
Crawford Lake, Mountsberg, and Mount Nemo. Careful scheduling will be necessary to avoid two different
groups needing the passes on the same date. We have taken this step at a significant cost rather than bothering
each hiker for more money each time there is an impacted hike. Hike leaders should plan to use these passes
because it will cost $12.00 per vehicle without one. The passes will be kept with the new hike map book and
must be used and returned carefully.
Thursday 9 a.m. Turtles’ Hike
The Turtles start with the regular 9 a.m. hikers (the Hares), meeting at the Colborne Centre, driving to the
same place, & starting at the same time on the same trail, but at a slower pace. An hour & a half later we will
be back at the cars, & drive back to the Centre for fellowship & coffee/tea etc., probably ahead of the Hares.
Join us anytime, but let us know at the Centre, for we need separate cars. Hike leaders are Wally Nisbet &
Bill Stassen

Eldon's Thursday Hikes

We will hike each Thursday, leaving the Town hall parking lot at 7:00 a.m. We will either go north to
Sydenham or do an Iroquoia hike, depending on weather. On Oct. 7th, we will do a pub hike leaving the
centre west parking lot at 8:00 a.m. There will be no hike on Oct. 28th. All are welcome. Call me if you need
further information.
