UNIT 3 –

ASSIGNMENT 3
CYBER
BULLYING
By Holly Roberts
Introduction
■ Introduction to me
My name is Holly Roberts and I have been developing ideas for a
documentary. I have researched into cyber bullying to create a
one hour programme that I will try to air on Channel 4.
■ Introduction to my programme
My programme will be addressing the topic of cyber bullying.
Cyber bullying is an issue that will only get worse as time
progresses since more and more people are creating social
media accounts at a younger age. Research has already
found out that the number of people have been cyber bullied
has increased significantly over the past few years. I would
like my programme to tell people how to spot cyber bullying
and what to do if they are cyber bullied.
What is Cyber Bullying?
■ What is Cyber Bullying?
Cyber bullying is a form of bullying that happens on the internet.
Cyber bullying usually occurs on social media sites such as Facebook
and Twitter.
■ Forms of Cyber Bullying
Harassment – sending offensive or intimidating messages to
someone to make them feel embarrassed or humiliated
Denigration – sending false information about someone that is
damaging and degrading
Flaming – when someone purposely uses extremely rude or
offensive language to purposely start an argument
Impersonation – when someone hacks onto another persons social
media account and posts embarrassing and offensive material
Outing and Trickery – when someone tricks a person into revealing
secrets about themselves and then sending that information onto
other people
Cyber Stalking – when someone sends constant massages to
another person
Exclusion – when a person is left out of a group message on purpose
