Calingan (Rubus rosifolius) merupakan tanaman yang berpotensial sebagai

obat herbal. Berdasarkan hasil kajian etnofarmasi suku Tengger yang terletak di

Kabupaten Probolinggo Kecamatan Sumber Desa Wonokerso daun calingan

memiliki khasiat mengobati diare. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui

aktivitas antidiare ekstrak etanol daun calingan secara in vitro terhadap bakteri

Staphylococcus aureus dan Eschericia coli. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode

difusi sumuran. Penelitian dilakukan Laboratorium Fitokimia dan Laboratorium

Mikrobiologi Fakultas Farmasi, Universitas jember pada bulan Desember 2017 –

Januari 2018. Hasil uji fitokimia ekstrak etanol daun calingan menunjukan

kandungan saponin, polifenol, tanin dan flavonoid. Hasil uji antidiare secara in vitro

menunjukan ekstrak etanol daun calingan mampu menghambat pertumbuhan

bakteri Staphylococcus aureus dan Eschericia coli.

Calingan (Rubus rosifolius) is a potent plant as an herbal medicine. Pursuant

to result of ethnopharmacy study of Tengger tribe located in Probolinggo District

Sumber Sumber Wonokerso calingan leaves have efficacy to treat diarrhea. The aim

of this study was to determine the antidiarrhea and to know secondary metabolit

activity the ethanol extract of calingan leaves. The method used is the diffusion

method of wells. The research was conducted by Phytochemistry Laboratory and

Microbiology Laboratory of Faculty of Pharmacy, University of jember on December

2017 - January 2018. The result of phytochemical test of ethanol extract of calingan

leaves showed saponin, polyphenol, tannin and flavonoid content. The results of

antidiarrheal test in vitro showed ethanol extract of calingan leaves able to inhibit the

growth of Staphylococcus aureus and Eschericia coli bacteria.
