CENTRAL LP GAS SUPPLY SYSTEM INSTALLATION

METHOD STATEMENT

APARTMENT LEVEL HD GI PIPE LINE INSTALLATION AND TESTING

1. GI pipes will be applied a single coat of QD Zink Phosphate metal primer for corrosion
prevention.
2. One layer of golden yellow enamel paint will be applied on top of the metal primer layer
before installation.
3. Pipe clamps shall be fixed to the wall or soffit and sometimes beam bottoms, using thread
bars and anchor bolts, to maintain straight line as per approved shop or coordination
drawings provided.

Clamped pipes on soffit and wall

4. Pipes will be cut and threaded on both ends and applied thread sealing compound on
threads
and PTFE tape to suitable thickness.
5. Pipes will be turned to fittings with a pipe wrench to suitable tightness.
6. Once the total pipes network in a particular floor is completed, all paint scratch places,
will be
repainted with golden yellow enamel paint
7. Completed pipe lines shall be end capped with GI thread plugs in the pantry side.
8. High Pressure gauges shall be installed before the meter in the gas duct.
9. All gas pipe lines in one floor will be pressurized to 3 bar using an air compressor or a
Nitrogen cylinder and observe for any visible pressure drop for few hours.
10. If there is a visible pressure drop, all the threaded joints will be check with a soap solution
to
identify the gas leaking point of the particular pipe line and rectified the leaking point and
follows the step 9.
11. Once confirmed that there are no leaks in all pipe lines, an inspection document will be
raised and ask relevant parties to witness the pressure test for 4 hours.
12. Once the pressure testing completed, final finishing layer of the paint will be applied.
13. Upstream pipe line of the gas meter will be once all the civil works finish at terrace. Wall
paint coating also should complete before the gas meters, water heaters and other
accessories installation.
14. Upstream side of the gas meter cannot pressurize to higher pressure. Leak testing of the
upstream side of the gas meters will be done once the total pipe network is completed.
With the aid of riser pressure, we will check the pipe line with applying the soap solution
on each and every joint.
APARTMENT LEVEL SHUT OFF SYSTEM CABLE INSTALLATION & TESTING

1. Conduits will be laid as of the shop drawings on each level slab. A particular level cabling
conduits will be laid on immediate above floor slab.
2. To identification of the laid conduits, yellow colour marks will be placed at each and
every conduit junction box.
3. Once the particular slab casted, all the conduits paths will be check and cleaned for ease of
cable drawing.
4. Once the particular level block work is completed, we will start to draw cables.
5. All cables will be drawn from pantry to ELV duct and will marked particular unit on at the
duct.
6. There will be two types of cables for each unit. One is fire resistant cable and the other is
fire retardant cables.
7. Fire resistant cable will be laid ELV duct to each terrace area.
8. Fire retardant cables two pairs will be laid, one from gas cooker area of pantry to ELV
duct and the other is from gas cooker area of pantry to gas meter area of terrace.
9. Cables will be tested for continuity with a multi-meter at the completion of a particular
level.
10. An inspection document can be raised, if it is requested.
MAIN RISER PIPELINE INSTALLATION

1. All HD GI pipes will be painted with QD Zink Phosphate metal primer and allow to
drying for few hours.
2. Golden yellow colour enamel paint first coat will be applied on top of the primer coat.
3. Pipe clamps / prepared angle iron brackets will be hanged / fixed as per the approved shop
or coordination drawing provided.
4. Relevant pipes will be cut to required size.
5. Pipe ends will be prepared for thread joint.
6. Pipes and fittings will be tagged and properly align horizontally / vertically or suitable
angle.
7. Once a riser pipe line is completed, both end of the pipes temporally closed with a blank
flange, and pressure tested for 6 bars.
8. If there is no pressure drop for a few hours time, a document will be raised and ask
relevant parties to witness the pressure test for 4 hours.
GAS SUPPLY SYSTEM TESTING AFTER INSTALLATION

1. Once all the pipe network and accessories installation completed all pipe network will be
pressurized to system operating pressure with an air compressor.
2. Service level regulators, gas meter connection unions, union joints, water heater
connection of each unit will be individually check for gas leakages.
3. If there is any leakage, those will be rectified and re tested.
4. Unit wise main riser valve will be opened and gas flow will be check to the pantry and the
water heater.
5. Once the system check with compressed air, gas will be introduced to the system after
confirming that.
6. Each and every unit gas hob and water heater will be check to ensure continuous operation
of the system.
7. System will be finally check with client’s and main contractor’s representative and raise a
document to verification of the system functionality.
GAS LEAK DETECTION, AUTO SHUT OFF SYSTEM INSTALLATION AND TESTING

1. Once a particular floor civil works finish, we will start the fixing detection system
accessories.
2. Conduits path not covered area cable will be done with surface PVC casing and gas
controller will be fixed to wall and shut off device will be connected to the downstream
valve of the meter.
3. Gas detector in the pantry is fixing to the pantry cupboard skirting. So, installation only
can be start just after the completion of the pantry cupboard installation.
4. In the ELV duct we will place our 8 addressable modules box in a pvc casing and all the
cables will be run inside the same casing.
5. There will be an 8VDC DC power adaptor in each level ELV duct to facilitate the entire
gas riser tap off closure at a fire incident.
6. Main alarm control panel will be placed at ground level, control room.
7. Main gas shut off device will be placed at ground level main riser starting point.
8. Once the alarm system installation is completed, individual units will be check with
introduce of Butane gas to the gas detector.
9. Each unit shut off device and the main panel indication at ground level will be checked.
10. Fire system inter connection will also check with the energizing the 8V DC power adapter
main supply line.
11. System will be finally check with client’s and main contractor’s representative and raise a
document to verification of the system functionality.
