CONVERGENCE ACTION PLANNING

An Activity Design

I. RATIONALE

Republic Act No. 10121, also known as the Philippine Disaster Risk Reduction and
Management Act of 2010, is the most noteworthy legislation that sets direction for the
systematic approach to reduce the underlying risk caused by natural disasters and
human-induced hazards. It also covers management of resources and situations to
lessen the serious effects of said disaster and hazards.
Pursuant to this mandate, LUCENA CITY DRRM Office has identified relevant
interventions for disaster preparedness that aim to create an enabling environment for
LGUs to further develop their capacities in the preparation during times of disasters.

II. OBJECTIVES

Generally, the activity aims to orient the participants on the contents of the LGU
Disaster Preparedness Manuals and Listo Movement.
Specifically, the Lucena City Convergence Action Planning aims to:
- To identify the key roles and responsibilities among stakeholders on the
Disaster Preparedness Manuals’ application as well as on the Listo Movement
- To develop City/Municipal Convergence Action Plans essential to the fulfillment
of the Listo Movement and Disaster Preparedness Manual’s objectives per
city/municipality
- To strengthen commitment among stakeholders especially the LGUs

III. EXPECTED OUTPUT

1. Oriented the participants on the objectives and rationale of the “LGU Disaster
Preparedness Manuals and Listo Movement”;
2. Participants provided with the knowledge of their roles and responsibilities relative
to OPLAN LISTO;
3. Commitment among stakeholders in the implementation of OPLAN LISTO
established in writing;
4. Lucena City Convergence Action Plan
5. Established network of partners from Civil Society Organizations, Private Sector,
Local Resource Institutes.

IV. STRATEGY OF IMPLEMENTATION

To ensure the effectiveness of the activity will also solicit technical assistance from
DILG, BFP, PNP, CSOs, and LGU Department Heads in the preparation on the
Convergence Action Plan.

To facilitate quality outputs, the following tools shall be employed, viz:

 1. Lecture Discussion
2. Video Presentation
3. Action Planning
4. IEC Materials Distribution

V. SCHEDULE OF IMPLEMENTATION

The activity will be conducted on September 15, 2017 at the Lucena City
Government Complex, 4th floor Activity Area.

BUDGETARY REQUIREMENTS
A total of Nineteen Thousand Pesos and Two Hundred Fifty (Php 19,250) is
earmarked for the said activity for meals of the participants.
