Responde el siguiente test: how much do you know about staying healthy?
dex.htm
En el quiz anterior, pudiste observar ciertas estructuras como how much, how many,
any, some, much, a lot of, a little, a few. También estaba presente la expresión how
often, que estudiaste en la semana 10 de 8vo.

Semana 5 Let´s talk about… A healthy life style
Repasa el contenido de la semana 4 del 9no. Much se utiliza para referirse a sustanti-
vos no-contables; éstos no aceptan forma plural: garbage, water, traffic, energy, sugar,
air, bread, money. Utilizamos any o some para referirnos tanto a sustantivos contables
¿Qué palabra acompaña a
esta expresión? .
contables y no contables.
referimos a unidades.
singular.

Semana 5 Let´s talk about… A healthy life style
Susana: well, Jamal. I think I finished with my shopping. I have some meat,
cheese, and bread…I think that´s enough.
Jamal: really? How much milk and orange juice do you have?
Susana: I don´t have any; I don´t like that very much. I have some sodas and
cokes.
Jamal: you need to buy some water, you should drink at least two liters a day.
Susana: oh, all right. I will take one bottle.
Jamal: why don´t you have some fruit and vegetables? I have some bananas, a
few carrots, tomatoes and peppers.
Susana: well…I don´t like them very much. But I will buy a few carrots and a few
bananas.
Jamal: susana, you should eat at least five portions of fresh fruit and vegetables
a day!
Susana: well Jamal, I know that…
Jamal: how much fish do you have?
Susana: not much, I don´t like it. I have some meat.
Jamal: and how many eggs do you have?
Susana: none, you know I don´t like them.
Jamal: well, you should. I am not buying any because I am allergic.
Susana: look, that´s what I really enjoy eating: chocolate, potato chips, cookies
and ice cream. I am taking some packs.
Jamal: that´s not the perfect diet Susana. You are getting some weight.
Susana: well, I see that you also had some chocolate too…
Jamal: oh Susana, it´s just a little. Tell me, do you exercise?
Susana: well…I walk every day. Walking is a good exercise!
Jamal: of course it is. But you need to walk at least 2000 meters a day!
Susana: really?
Jamal: don´t you like swimming or cycling?
Susana: no way, I always get too tired!
Jamal: I enjoy going to the gym every morning. Why don´t you come with me?
Susana: that would be nice…but, I am so lazy!.
sano o hacer ejercicios. Escríbelas:

Let´s talk about… A healthy life style Semana 5
- Go swimming or cycling
- Go to the gym every morning
- Stay away from sodas and chips -Sunbathe about 15 minutes a day
You have five main sense organs. They are the eyes, nose, ears, tongue, and skin.
Once stimulated, the receptors send nerve impulses along sensory nerves to the bra-
in. Your brain then tells you what the stimulus is.
The best basis for the health of any body function and system is a healthy diet. Eat
a lot of fresh fruits and vegetables every day. Stay away from sodas and chips. Avoid
drinking much coffee. Exercise is an important part of caring for the nervous system.
Be sure you are getting at least 15 to 30 minutes of aerobic activity at least three times
a week. Avoid smoking; it can affect your eyes and respiratory system.
Vitamin D is one of the most important vitamins for the brain and nervous system.
One of the easiest ways to get vitamin D is to get daily sun exposure. About 15 minu-
tes a day is enough. Water is a necessary part of nervous system functions. Drink much
water every day. At least 8 glasses is the minimum you should be drinking. Avoid acci-
dents and protect your head and your eyes from impacts. Fuente: Christiane Northrup.

Luego, preséntala a tus compañeros.
las expresiones: how much, how many, a few, a little.
