If you use the analysis report, you only have to fill in those parts of the questionnaire that cannot be
covered by the report. If you decide against using the report, fill in all parts of the questionnaire manually.

Introduction
Dear customer,
Thank you very much for your inquiry and interest in System Landscape Optimization (SLO) services.
SLO services are SAP’s answer to the demand for changes in live mySAP applications. They provide
support to customers implementing business-related or technical modifications in their systems. Typical
examples of these are the centralization of existing system landscapes; company mergers, sales, or
acquisitions; and harmonization of business objects. When carrying out such activities, SLO services help
customers migrate, separate, and harmonize data from SAP organizational units and business objects (for
example, by renaming or merging the data). Even entire systems can be centralized by means of merging or
decentralized by separation.
The complexity and feasibility of SLO projects depends on your individual situation. Your system landscape,
organizational structures, and applications play a role. To process your inquiry, we require some information:

Scenarios Involving a Company Code Merge


Definition of company code merge
Company code merges aided by conversion technology involve consolidating two or more company codes
within a client. During this process, master and transaction data and customizing data are taken into account.

We differentiate between the target company code, the reference company code, and the outgoing company
codes. The target company code acquires a certain number of additional company codes. The outgoing
company codes are those that are merged with the target company code. The reference company code’s
customizing settings are to be applied to the target company code.

Companies often merge company codes in the following scenarios:

 Mergers of two legally independent companies


 Situations involving reasons related to tax or commercial law
 A legally independent company that has been represented in the past by two or more company
codes in its SAP system and wishes to correct this
 Companies planning a system consolidation (client merge) and seeking to merge company codes
due, for example, to one of the aforementioned scenarios as part of the project
