She wants the main points of the three authors and the implication of the article to the
guidance counselor not the work of a guidance counselor. Kindly highlighted all the main
points of the three authors in your summary and the implication of the article to the guidance
counselor.
The main issues addressed by the three authors include; inadequacies in the proposed
revisions, the weaknesses of the approaches used and alternative way of viewing how we think
about psychological distress. It involves the criticism of the approaches used by clinicians, their
weaknesses and the alternative ways of dealing with the psychological distress. The research has
highlighted the different things which ought to be revised in order to be able to deal with these
distresses.
Diagnosis has been criticized for being poor in validity, reliability and in utility. It has
been argued that the results produced in analysis of different distress and disorders are not
reliable in some cases. According to the authors efforts should and are being made to produce
more reliable diagnosis, which should correspond with the symptoms. The clinicians should also
be able to predict the cause and indicate the treatment of a specific disorder thus improving their
validity. The symptoms should correspond to the prescribed and identified disorder and distress,
which is a way of improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the clinical sector.
Another issues that has been analyzed by the three authors is the argument and view that
people’s difficulties should be understood in the same manner as bodily disease, which excludes
the possibility of finding meaning in people disordered responses and experiences which prevent
people from understanding how they might use their resources to address their difficulties. This
will help in improving the diagnosis and possible measures rather than barely relying upon
medication. The clinicians have been urged as a remedy of dealing with distress and

psychological disorder to have a general survey and have ideas on how to deal with the
disorders, rather than purely prescribing medication to patients. According to research, one
should try to understand the cause of and proper response to a specific disorder. For clinicians
this will involve development of individual’s formulation, summary of individual’s problem and
the circumstances, hypothesis of their origin and the suggested possible therapeutic solution.
As an alternative to deal with the above highlighted criticism, the three authors have
suggested alternative ways of thinking about and dealing with psychological disorders. This can
be done through acknowledging that such a distress is normal but not abnormal and that it is part
of human life. It is also notable that humans respond to difficult situations by being distressed.
Recognition of evidence by pschtriatric should be in line with the less unusual and the mental
state.
As an alternative the three writers have also suggested that clinicians should identify the
psychosocial factors which bring about psychological distress and other factors such as genetic
which magnify the reaction of individuals to a certain circumstance. Clinicians should also
understand that there is no clear link between normal experience and disorder.
Research has also suggested that there should be alternative systems of identifying and
describing psychological distress in order to help clinicians practice for aspects such as record
also been suggested that research should study nature of, causes of and the proper response to
specific identified problems. The new suggestions will involve coming up with ways of
identifying and describing psychological distress. This help come up with specific solutions to
identified psychological distress. In order to improve the effectiveness of clinicians, they should
