2. DISCHARGING
- Discharge the battery at current 10A up to voltage 20V. When the battery
voltage reaches the value 21V, measure the voltage of each cell without
disconnecting the battery from the battery charger unit.
- Disconnect the battery from the battery charger unit.
3. DISASSEMBLY
- Disassemble the battery as per Maintenance Requirement Card 12 and inspect.
5. ASSEMBLY
- Assemble the battery as per Maintenance Requirement Card 12.
6. CHARGING
- Connect the battery to the charger and charge by any one of the following
method.
a) Method No.1: Charge the battery in two steps.
First Step : 10 Amps for 3 hours.
Second Step : 5 Amps for 2 hours.
At the end of charge, measure and record individual cell voltage and battery
terminal voltage.

6. Screw out vent plugs from and hold the battery with open plugs for 15 hours
at least for gas removal.
7. After gas removal, check the electrolyte level in each cell. Level must be
between the marks on the window. Top up with distilled water if required.
8. Insulation Check
Measure the insulation resistance between the body and positive terminal of
the battery. It should be 20 K-Ohm or higher.

9. FINAL JOB
- Close the vents of the cells.
- Clean the battery.
- Install the cover of the battery.
- Complete the documentation.
