and lived in another country? If so, the European Commission wants to challenge
you – participate in this online contest on “learning abroad opens you up to new
horizons”. Upload your video, image or text with your You on the Move experience
and win a prize!

What is the aim of the My European Diary Contest?

Moving around in Europe is one of the best ways of acquiring new skills, achieving
personal development and finding a job. Because you have already done it, other
(young) people should have the chance to experience it too. Tell them how you
started, where you went, whom you met and what you learnt. Share your personal
story about your learning mobility experience in Europe.

What is the main topic?

‘Learning abroad opens you up to new horizons’

What are the essential requirements?

The mobility experience must have taken place in one of the 27 EU Member States,
Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Croatia, the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedo-
nia, Turkey or Switzerland

Who can participate?

Natural persons between 16 and 30 years of age. Each contestant can only submit
one contribution.

How to participate?
1 Upload a video, an image or a text to one of the Youth on the Move net-
works on the internet (Facebook, Youtube, Flickr).

2 Fans/friends will vote for the preselected participations using a Poll

mechanism to win:
• 1st prize: iPad
• 2nd prize: iTouch
• 3rd prize: Digital Camera

What kind of thing are we looking for?

Whatever you want. Let your imagination guide you. Your piece should be ori-
ginal and creative, and of course must be about learning mobility in Europe.
Naturally, the European Commission will not consider any works that depict
violence or pornography. Likewise, pieces made for advertising purposes or
that are otherwise inappropriate will not be considered. This is an international
contest. Produce something that can be understood by other people.
