CONTRACTUAL CONSIDERATIONS According to the meetings among Compafiia Minera Antamina S.A., Bechtel Corporation and G y M S. A., the towers to be used will be the INGENDESA structures which are installed on the following lines: © 220 kV T/L Aguaytfa ~ Tingo Maria ~ Paramonga 392 km: AGUAYTIA ENERGY ERL (Property) * 220 kV T/L Chimay - Yanango — Pachachaca 120 km: EDEGEL S.A. (Property) TECHNICAL CONSIDERATIONS: Objective From a technical point of view, this chapter sets forth the supply conditions for the line towers. The towers supply also comprises the supply for the metallic grid foundations and the stubs for the foundations either on normal surface or on rocks. Towers type Towers will be self-supporting structures lattice type in galvanized-stee! angular profiles and joined by bolts and nuts. Their forms will be in general according to the corresponding drawings. The basic configuration of the towers will be for a single circuit with a triangular arrangement of conductors and two overhead ground wires. The structure type for this line is the tower supporting steel profiles and basically the following structure type will be used: 221.27 (0°- 1°) ‘Suspension tower (CAANTAMINA, PROJECTINFORMESWLT-22031-30-20-6-Rev Odo 31-30-20-Rev0 kV TRANSMISSION LINES STEEL TOWER LATTICE STRUCTURES AND LOADING CALCULATIONS 3.3 3.4 22C1.2T (2°- 30°) : 22D1.2T (30° - 70°) Tension towers for medium angles Tension towers for wide angles and dead ends. For deriving from tower of the 220 kV Transmission Line, Aguaytia - Tingo Maria — Paramonga the same towers will be used Typical Spans Each type of normal structure will be designed according to its typical spans. Wind span: ‘The medium value of the spans next to tower, for the estimation of the load caused by the wind, Weight span: The horizontal distance between the lowest points, real or artificial, of the conductor profile in the two spans adjacent to the tower and which determines the vertical reaction over the tower in the anchorage point. In the structure design, the maximum acceptable horizontal angle of the conductors will also be taken into consideration. Typical spans of the structures are in the following table: [Tower Type 22A1.2T 2201.27. 2201.27 a [Function ‘Suspension/Small | Medium angles | Wide angles/dead- angles end | ‘Insulator siring | Suspension Tension Tension [Wind span (m) [430 ina [430_ a Weight span (m) [454/568 Ad O-eceeceecenteeea| [Horizontal angie /0°- 7° (0° - 70°) 7 dead- [cnt ie : lend a Normal height and extension The normal height at the tie point of the lowest conductor is 18,50 m for the suspension line tower and 22,00 m for the tension line towers. The lower part of each type of tower shall be designed so that it may easily be possible to vary its height in 3 m sections up to maximum variations of (CAANTAMINA, PROJBCTINFORMESWLT-2206 1-20-2046 Rev 0.doe 31-30-20-Revo 220 kV TRANSMISSION LINES STEEL. In addition, to adapt to the land asymmetric profile, the height of each leg for any tower type and extension shall be easily varied independently of the others, by four sections of one (1) m. from minus two (-2) m to plus four (+4) m DESIGN AND CALCULATION CRITERIA Conductors clearances and safety distances The distance between conductors and the metallic elements under tension and all the minimum safety distance are: Minimum vertical distance between conductors: 7,00 m ¢ Minimum horizontal distance between two conductors capped/lapped in towers 11,00 m * Minimum distance between energized elements and the ‘suspension towers: - With vertical insulators string 2,95 m - With insulators string rotated 35° 1,55 m - With insulators string rotated 45° 0,85 m * Minimum distance between energized elements under voltage and the tension towers: - With vertical jumped connections or rotated 10° 2,95 m - With jumped connections rotated 30° 1,55m + Minimum sag of jumper connections 3,50 m Load conditions Generalities For the design and calculation of the structure elements of each type of tower, two load types will be considered * Normal loads + Exceptional loads corresponding to the single broken conductor or single broken head over ground wire. ‘CAANTAMINA, PROJECTNNFORMESW:T-2201-30-20-6-Rev0 doo 31-30-20-Rev0 220 kV TRANSMISSION LINES STEEL TOWER LATTICE STRUCTURES AND LOADING CALCULATIONS Loads to be considered At normal load conditions, it will be accepted that the tower is subject to the simultaneous action of the following forces: + Vertical loads - The weight of the conductors, overhead ground wires, insulators string and accessories for the correspondent weight span - The weight of the tower. * Horizontal transversal loads - The wind on the projected net total area of the conductors, insulator string and overhead ground wires for the correspandent wind span. - The wind pressure on the tower structure. - The transversal horizontal component of the conductor and ‘overhead ground wires ultimate strength determined by the relative maximum horizontal angle. ‘* Horizontal longitudinal loads Only for the tower operating as retention structure and dead end; - The longitudinal horizontal component of the maximum operation tension of the conductor and overhead ground wire. - The wind pressure on the structure. * Installation and Maintenance Loads The additional forces that affect the tower during its installation and maintenance period. In that respect, crossarms of the suspension towers will be calculated for a minimum vertical load that will equal the double of the load considered for the conductor and accessories. Exceptional loads to be considered In conditions of exceptional loads, the tower is subject, in addition to the normal loads, to a horizontal force due to the either one broken conductor or one broken overhead ground wire, in order to calculate the maximum stress on each element of the tower. This force will have the following values: + For suspension towers: 50% of ultimate strength of one conductor or one overhead ground wire. (CAANTAMINA PROTECTNFORMESWLT-220031-0.20-E-Rev Odo 31-30-20-Revo 220 kV TRANSMISSION LINES STEEL, TOWER LATTICE STRUCTURES AND LOADING CALCULATIONS 43 + For angular and dead ends towers: 60% of ultimate strength of conductor or one overhead ground wire This force will be determined in its longitudinal and transversal components according to the corresponding horizontal angle. For the exceptional load condition, the weight and wind loads corresponding to the broken conductor will be considered as operating on the middle of the corresponding span. Wind loads on the structures The wind load on the tower structure will be estimated according to the following formula: W=2.9.4 Where: Wis the total wind load in'kg = is the wind pressure in kg/m2 The wind pressure value will be assumed to 120 kg/m2 A= is the total side project surface in the wind direction expressed in m2 Calculation criteria Safety factor The safety factor will be not less than: * Fornormalloads: 1,50 + For exceptional: 1,30 * For seismic: 1,10 Limit stress ‘The limit stress for each element of the tower structure will be: «For the traction stress: the steel elastic limit CAANTAMINA, PROJECTNNFORMESUT-22001-80-20-E Rev Odor
