Speed Mount Because parking garage lurni-
naires must be installed qu ckly
and secure y, every PGL is sup-
plied wiih the Kim "Speed [,4ounl'.
The "Speed lvlount' attaches to
any standard 4' J-box or mud box,
whether recessed, surface or rigid
*pendant mounted. lt serves as a
fixture hanger freeing both hands
for connecting fied wires, and
locks the fi)dure to the J-box wth-
out tools.
-See PB1 option, P.4.

Wiring and Locking With the "Speed N,4ount' n place,

the PGL lumina re can be removed
from its carton and easily nstalled
wthout tools. The fixture hangs at
an angle so field wire connectons
can be quickly and eas ly rnade.
All w res are tucked into the J-box.
and the fixture js ready for f na
mountlnq. Without toos, the flxture
is simply ifted and pushed foru/ard
until an audible lock s heard. At
this point, the fixture ls locked to the
J box and cannot be removed with-
out intemal access through the ba-
last compadment. This feature
reduces the possib lity of theft, par
tcularly during the perod prior to
building occupancy.

Lamping and For initial amping or future

relarnping, the down-light window
Relam ping ls hinged and retained by three
capiive screws. Access to the
amp rs quick, and the entire lamp-
ing task can be rapidly accom-
plished. Relarnping schedules
should always be combined with
basic c eaning to maintain opt-
mum light output. Since the PGL
optca chamber is totally sealed,
exteror dusting is al that is nor
ma ly required.

Control of Park nq qaraqes are notorious for

light pol ution because they have
Light Pollution tradiuonally been illuminated wth
non-cutoff prismed retraclor lumin-
aires. The PGL now a lows park
ing garages to be fully illuminated
without significant light spill into the
surrounding neighborhood.
