Up Lighting
When a building facade is designed to have interestinB surface
textlrre, reliefs, projectior'rs or other embellishments, grazing
the wall with light can produce dramatic night time effects.
Standard oval floodlight beam patterns are not idealfor this
application which truly requires a sheet of light to be grazed
up the wall.

The Kim Wall Directorrt has already

mounted luminaires. Because of its
avai ability as an up light, this product
was the obvious choice for the
addition of a wall grazing reflector
system. This new optical configuration
projects an intense sheet of light rlp the wallfor highlighting
reliel. pro_e, r o^- and.urrar c orltrre.

Wallgrazing should not be confused with "facade lighting",

which is normally produced by floodlights set back from the wall
to create uniform lighting. Wall grazing n,ill light the wail to a

limited degree, llut its real purpose is to create an effect based

upon highlights rather than uniform wallwashing.

Down Lighting
As a down light, the Wall Crazer can also be used to provide
increased security lighting for building perimeters. For this
application the fixture would be mounted high on the building
facade because of its narrow beam pattern. Adjacent sidewalks,
alleys and paihways can be highlighted for pedestrian security
and safety. The optional 5" Shield (see WD cataiog) can be
usefLrl in tl'ris application for controlling fixture brightness. The
Wall Director also has a +l0' adjustment feature which is useful
in moving the band of illumination away from the wall if needed.
