Showcasing Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Venturing and Exploring of the
South Texas Council’s 17 counties.
Purpose of the Scout Expo
The Scout Expo is our celebration of the 100th Anniversary of Scouting event that is a booth type walk around
show featuring the display of Cub Scouting, Boy Scouting, Venturing and Exploring activities. Hundreds of
Scouts, leaders, and families will participate in this great South Texas Scouting tradition.

Scout Expo Booth/Demonstration/Activity Ideas

Cub Scouting
Any of the Wolf, Bear, and Webelos achievement subjects such as Woodworking, Texas Heritage, Fitness, Home
Safety, Scientist, Artist, and Geologist to name a few. Space Derby and Pine Wood Derby activities are also fun.
Your Pack can do just about any thing that the boys and leaders come up with. The possibilities are endless. So
show your Scouting Pride and attend the Scout Show.
Boy Scouting
Rope making, Indian Lore activities and crafts, backpacking and camping displays, Atomic Energy displays,
Cooking demonstrations including Dutch Oven cooking, Scout History, and Pioneering projects are just a sample
of the activities that Troops can do at the Scout Show.

Venturing, Sea Scouting, and Exploring

Aviation, First Aid, Sailing, Medical, Law Enforcement, High Adventure, Living History, Health Care, Emergency
Services are just a few of the booth ideas for your unit.

Booth/Demonstration Objectives
Scout Expo booths/demonstrations need to have the following three basic objectives to achieve success.
1. Attract attention - arouse interest
2. Involve - personalize the subject matter, invite others to participate.
3. Motivate - stimulate action, get involved with the subject.
Successful booth participation can be done by each unit by carefully laying out the elements of the displays and
highlighting the center of interest by using colorful and attractive backgrounds, and most important providing your
Scouts and visitors an opportunity to get involved with the booth.

*Awards for most unique booths will be given out, so remember DO YOUR BEST!
