5.FICD adjustment
(1) Adjust the clearance between the actuator lever and the speed lever to approx. 2 mm.
(2) Loosen nut 3 and fully tighten the actuator screw 2.
(3) Supply 53.3 kPa {400 mmHg} negative pressure to the actuator's port 1 and gradually loosen the
screw 2.
(4) Fix the screw 2 using the nut 3 when the rack position is 9.2±0.1 mm and the pump speed is N = 440
r/min.
Specified torque: 1.2 ~ 1.6 N•m {0.12 ~ 0.16 kgf•m}
(5) Supply the above negative pressure several times and confirm that the actuator operates normally
and that the clearance between the actuator lever and the speed lever is as specified.

5.FICD adjustment
(1) Adjust the clearance between the actuator lever and the speed lever to approx. 2 mm.
(2) Loosen nut 3 and fully tighten the actuator screw 2.
(3) Supply 53.3 kPa {400 mmHg} negative pressure to the actuator's port 1 and gradually loosen the
screw 2.
(4) Fix the screw 2 using the nut 3 when the rack position is 9.2±0.1 mm and the pump speed is N = 440
r/min.
Specified torque: 1.2 ~ 1.6 N•m {0.12 ~ 0.16 kgf•m}
(5) Supply the above negative pressure several times and confirm that the actuator operates normally
and that the clearance between the actuator lever and the speed lever is as specified.

5. Potentiometer adjustment
(1) Supply DC 5.0±0.2V to the potentiometer harness terminals shown in the circuit below to obtain the
specified output voltage.
(2) Fix the speed lever in the full position and loosen bolts A shown below.
Then, move the potentiometer left and right until the output voltage for the full position is as specified.
Tighten bolts A, move the speed lever between full and idle and confirm that the values for full and idle
are as specified.
Potentiometer voltage: Measure actual lever angle at 2.84±0.3 V

1.Adjust the governor shaft so that the clearance between the end of the flange and the
end of the governor shaft is approxiamely 3 mm and then lock the nut.
(2) With the control lever positioned as described in (1) above, adjust the governor sleeve
so that timer reduction value (ΔT)conforms to the specified values (Item2-7).
T=17∼22N・m{1.7∼2.2 kgf・m}

the dummy bolt.

■Potentiometer adjustment
1. At a pump speed of 750 r/min, hold the control lever in a position where a fuel injection
quantity of 13.8 ± 1.0cm3/1,000st can be obtained.
2. Screw in the dummy bolt until it contacts the control lever and lock it using the nut.
3. Adjust the potentiometer so that the out-put voltage is 2.76 ± 0.03 V.
4. Following adjustment, remove the dummy bolt, hold the control lever in the idling position,
and confirm that the potentiometer voltage is as described above.

ISUZU 2 – SPRING INJECTOR OPENING PRESSURES
These NHAs are not to be serviced in the field for the following
reasons:-
1) Nozzle retaining nuts are fastened using special tightening
machines. If tightened by hand using standard tools, damage
will result.
2) The pre-lift is close to 0.03 mm. This cannot be measured
using a dial gauge. It is measured using special device that
measures oil flow.
3) Injection holes are extremely small (around 0.18 mm).
Damage will result if work is not performed in a special clean
room.

These NHAs are not to be serviced in the field for the following
reasons:-
1) Nozzle retaining nuts are fastened using special tightening
machines. If tightened by hand using standard tools, damage
will result.
2) The pre-lift is close to 0.03 mm. This cannot be measured
using a dial gauge. It is measured using special device that
measures oil flow.
3) Injection holes are extremely small (around 0.18 mm).
Damage will result if work is not performed in a special clean
room.

(1) Before removing rack position measuring device, apply at least 42.0 kPa
{at least 315 mmHg} boost pressure and confirm rack position is R1 = 15.0 mm and
fuel injection quantity is 109.5 ± 1 mm3/st at N = 1,000 r/min.
(2) Remove rack position measuring device.
(3) Attach rack sensor core to control rack.
At this time, hold control rack using a spanner (to prevent the rack from bending).
Specified torque : 3.4 ∼ 4.9 N.m {0.35 ∼ 0.5 kgf.m}
(4) While pulling stop lever, install rack sensor to rack sensor core.
(5) Tighten two flange fixing screws.
Specified torque : 6.9 ∼ 8.8 N.m {0.7 ∼ 0.9 kgf.m}
(6) Connect rack sensor wire harness to constant voltage power supply and digital voltmeter.
(7) Turn constant voltage power supply power switch ON and set it to DC 5 ± 0.01V.
(8) Apply at least 42.0 kPa {at least 315 mmHg} boost pressure, set pump speed at
N= 1,000 r/min, and hold speed control lever against the full speed stopper bolt.
(9) Confirm the rack sensor output voltage from the digital voltmeter. (Vist = 2.55 ± 0.28)
(10) Confirm that the voltage changes when the speed control lever is moved to the idle and
full sides.

Note:
When adjusting the depth that the bobbin 1 is screwed into the joint 2, the fully tightened position of the
bobbin is 9 threads (ie, 9 turns) from where it first engages the threads.

Operation sequence
1. Turn the prestroke actuator OFF.
2. Turn the camshaft as far as the No.1 cylinder's beginning of injection position.
3. Check that the pointer alignment mark of the injection pump and the alignment mark of the fly
wheel are matching.
4. If they are not matching, erase the alignment mark on the flywheel side, and stamp an alignm
ent mark on the flywheel position that matches with the pointer side alignment mark.
5. Check again that the coupling's key groove position is in the No.1 cylinder's beginning of inject
ion position.

(1) With the injection pump stopped, set the REDIII governor’s Vist to the value shown in the table below.
(2) Adjust the bobbin 1 so that the drive side rack sensor's output voltage is VR±0.01, then fix using the
nut 3.
(3) Apply red paint to the joint 2 - nut 3 join and to the joint 2 - pump end face join.
