Field Marshal Thanom Kittikachorn, the Supreme commander of Thai army, was
officially appointed as the prime minister of Thailand in December 9th, 1963.

December 9th of 1963, Thanom
Kittikachorn, Field Marshal of Thai
army, was appointed to become the
prime minister of Thailand to secure
control after the death of the former
prime minister, Field Marshal Sarit
Thanarat.
After one day of Field Marshal Sarit's
death, Field Marshal Thanom
immediately appointed himself to play
his role as the prime minister once
more in December Monday of 9th,
1963. He then also promoted himself as
the supreme commander of all Thai
army in two days after his
appointment,  more effective that the past
had revived several policies of
supporting the army and anti-
communist to support his allies in
Vietnam. He engaged the guerrilla
warfare occurred on the Northeast
section of Thailand which appears to
be a communist soldiers that came
from North like China and North
Vietnam. Furthermore, he kept
sending supplies and Thai soldiers to
support the U.S. army in Vietnam War
as well in a year later, pleasing his U.S.
allies and brought pride back for his
country.

Thai army had made an official

intention to assist the U.S. army in the
Vietnam War in the March of 1964 by
remove all restrictions involving the
expansion of U.S.military in Thailand
and allow them to make use of their air
bases in Thailand as well.
The Vietnam War is the second great
war in the Indochina since the Greater
East Asia War in the second World
War. It took place in Vietnam and
expanded to other countries nearby
like Laos and Cambodia, increasing its
intensity. Northern Vietnam were
supported by the Communist China
and Southern Vietnam by the U.S
army. Due to this war, the U.S. army
had installed their secret air bases in
which they will used for producing
their aircrafts for aerial combats. But
those bases were restricted as well as
the U.S. military expansion in Thailand
during Field Marshal Sarit's regime due
to the immediate withdraw order from
President Kennedy which upset Field
Marshal Sarit.

especially from countries like Laos and
Cambodia which is right next to
Thailand doorstep. During this time,
Thai people became concerned with
not only the communist threat, but
also with their leader who became
obsessed with his military power and
his allies, The U.S. army, who made
their foothold here in their own soil.
They believed that their leader may be
corrupted and focus too much for
himself and his allies but not his own
people and some of them were even
falsely blamed as communist which
resulted in a harsh punishment later
on.
"Within a year, we will have a war
going in Thailand" Chinese Foreign

Ambassador in Beijing in January 1965,

their Vostok 6 operation in June
16th, 1963. This marked for the
Soviet Union as the first nation

President John Fitzgerald Kennedy, the 35th president of United
States of America, had been assassinated in his limousine during
his trip to Dellas, Texas in November 22nd, 1963.
