Goal: What is your goal for this class period?

o Reflection: What did you learn? How will impact your next steps? What
is your next step? Did you complete your goal?
o Sources: All sources should be documented on the work log

Methane, carbon dioxide, and nitrous oxides released in farming and

relationship to climate change
* Fossil fuels needed to grow livestock feed, fossil fuel used in meat
production, transporting products, methane release from animals,
decomposition of waste, and deforestation

Overuse of pesticides for crops like wheat, corn, and soybeans

* Humans get pesticides from eating crops
* Humans get larger amount of pesticides from eating animals who have
eaten the crops (Bioaccumulation)

Goal: “To be able to choose a topic”

Reflection: As we are given several topics to choose and the

requirements to work on our booklet project. We as a group decided who’s
gonna work on which topic. Choosing a topic will impact all of my steps,
because i will need to work on with the information according to the topic.
As we finalized, I and Brink will work on two topics, Prad and Oak will
work only one topic. I decided to work on the topic methane, and nitrous
oxide carbon dioxide that released from farming that effects the climate
and the environment and the topic humans overusing of pesticides for
crops that lead to a chain reaction problem from farm animals to us,
humans. So the in next step, i will begin to research for basic information
from each of my topics.

Goal: “To have basic information about my topics, overuse of pesticides &
releasing of greenhouse gases”

Reflection:As the topic that i have chosen is the releasing of harmful

gases and overuse of pesticides. I would like to know how each of them
started. I have learned some basic information that the chemical from
pesticide are still contain in the product which farm animals will consume
it later; then the chemical will pass down from the producer to the
consumers as a food chain. On the other hand, i have learned that the
emission of green house gases that happens from farming are very serious.
It increases a greater amount of green-house gases to the atmosphere more
than other activities. People do release a lot of these green-house gases
during their farming and agribusiness process. As i have all this
information the next step for me is to connect the correlation between my
information with our previous studies. I completed my goal since i can
find some informative information for me to continue my research.

Goal:“To analyze what connection can I make between my topics and
things that I have learned from other quarters”

Reflection: As what it is stated in class that we must be able to

connect our research information with the information that we have
studied from other quarters. Because these information are all related to
each other. I took some research about the negative affects when we use
too much pesticides and how farming and agriculture increase the green
house gases. As i personally analyzed the information and it can be said
that, the connection between the pesticide topic is mainly connected with
the food chain and food web that we have studied in our previous quarters
and also a bit of invasive species. On the other hand, is can be conclude
that the topic of releasing of green house gases is mainly connected with
the climate change as it is part of the “Threats to Biodiversity” and the
green house gases. So i planned that the next step I’ll do, is to find the
possible solutions for each of my topics, and the possible solution that will
benefits both sides.

Goal: “To research solution(s) for my topics”

Reflection: Today, i set my goal that to find the solution for both of
my topics. Unfortunately, i forgot that we still have lecture and more
things to learn in class, so in this day i didn’t work any further more on my
work. However, I have learned something more which is related to my
“overuse of pesticide” topic. I have learned the advantages and
disadvantages of the pesticides. So, in the next step i would continue to
find the solution for my topics.

Goal: “To continue to research solution(s) for my topics, ”

Reflection: So today we have a sometime to work on our project .

During our the start of the class, we have some lecture about
bioaccumulation and also biomagnification, which is how the chemical are
shared and pass on among living-things. So as i get this information from
today’s lecture, I could be able to add them to what i learned and also to
help me understand more about the topic. Moreover, Ms. Charlene told me
that my goal should be more specific. She said that what solution for
which topic am i looking for. So i the next step i will find the possible
solution for overuse of pesticide topic.

Goal: “To continue to research solution(s) for my topics, Overuse of

Pesticide”

Reflection: As i took a research, i have found out that there are

possible solution about it. Farmers can use natural predators to kill those
pest, they can use microorganisms to help their crops to be healthier and
prevent from diseases. So, i have found severals solution for my overuse of
pesticide topic. Therefore, the next goal for me is to find the possible
solution for my green house gases that have been released from industrial
farming.

Goal: “To continue to research solution(s) for my topics, release of
greenhouse gas in farming”

Reflection: Today i planned to find the solution for my another topic

which is the release of greenhouse gases in farming. However, today
during class we have a lecture which took a bit of time so i didn’t start to
find any further information to accomplish my goal. But what i have
learned in class today, helps my to confirmed my information that it is true
also, i gives me as informative information that using pesticide will not
reduced crop losses to pest, but using natural predator do help. Therefore
in my next work day I will continue my goal.

Goal: “To continue to research solution(s) for my topics, release of

greenhouse gas in farming”

Reflection:After i didn’t accomplish my goal from my last class.

Today i planned to find the solution of releasing of greenhouse gases. As i
go through the research, i have learned what these farm-animals are doing
to the environment and the climate. I have found some reasons and
suggestion that i could be done to reduce the emission of greenhouse gases
from industrial farming. So in this period i didn’t actually accomplish my
goal, about having the solution. As a result, in the next work day i will
continue research the solution.

Goal: “Quiz”
Reflection: Today we took a quiz.

Sources: None

Date: 22/5/18

Goal: “Find the solution to the emission of greenhouse gases, and to plan
for the product.”

Reflection: Today we went through our quiz result and checking our
own result, after that we got some time to work on our project. As you can
see i set two goals for today, since i still need to find that solution and to
plan for the booklet. I talked to my teammates and we decided what kind
of booklet are we gonna do. As our finalized, we will have a pattern paper
stick to ever pages so that our work will be more interesting. We also
finalized that we will use a cardboard for both front and back cover page.
In the class period i was busy about my grades and planning for the
booklet so i decided to continue my another goal, which is to find the
solution, after school. During after school, i went to a store to buy the
things that we need for the booklet, i brought most of the main elements
and some tools that we will use. That day, when i went back home, what i
have found for the solution is still unclear to me. But i noticed that the
solution to this issue is not completely simple, the process will not help
suddenly after we do it but it will take time to see the result. Such as
change the food for livestocks, or even to leave the plants intact to the soil
and let it decay. Therefore, today i have accomplished one of my goal
which is to plan for our team product.

Goal: “Start making the product”

Reflection: After I already brought most of the things to make the
product. We now start collecting everybody’s information and make it as a
bullet-from for our own, so that we can easily cut it out and transform
them into a short simple sentences. This would impact our next step as we
will need to continue our process and attached all of the information onto
the product. What i have learned from today’s class work is that how to
decide about the outcome of the product also to calculate for the time that
we have left and the amount of work that we still need to do.Therefore,
this would affect our next step which we will need to continue our process
and forming the booklet.

Date: 28/5/18

Goal: “Continue making the product”

Reflection: Today, we have a pop quiz so it took some of the times.

However, after everyone is done with the quiz we begin to talk about our
product and make an appointment during evening to continue making the
product. As we already prepare the pictures and the sentences that will be
put on the product. On the evening we from our book and prepare all the
materials and then print the information to put on the product, i also create
some designs about the overall product and also download my pictures and
send it to Oak to print. As a conclusion, on the next goal i would like to
finish my part and to be able to help other people finish their part also
guide them about the decoration and finish our product.

Goal: “ To summit the product”

Reflection: So today i the final day of the work day. Our group
already finished most of the project. However, we still need to put all of
the pages together to form the booklet. As a final touch, we re-check all
the requirements in the rubrics before we summited it to Ms.Chalene. We
also got some bonus points since we summit it before the new deadline. I
have learned so much from this project, both academic and also
experiences. I found some facts that i never knew it before. So after today,
my next goal for this would be to submit all of the other parts, such as the
Work Log, Learning Record Form and also the Evidence of learning.
