• Creating an open enviornment in the classroom making it easy to speak out about topics (even the more difficult ones). He encouraged us to disagree with each other (in
a respectful way) to get a good conversation going and to see both sides of a topic.
• Dr. B always portrayed such a positive attitude and from his feedback on assignments, you can really tell that he is excited about teaching this class. He kept everything
at an upbeat level throughout the semester and really encouraged us to contact him if we were struggling at all.
• Dr. B has a great way of teaching. I hope to have more classes with him.
• Dr. B was a great instructor, who gave back great information on the work you submitted. Overall, very pleased with his teachings and assignments.
• Dr. B was extremely responsive to me. He graded assignments as soon as possible and provided great feedback. I enjoyed receiving the kudos emails.
• Dr. B. was very helpful to my learning in this course by providing clear expectations of our success for the course. He went over chapters we were studying in class but
leaving out parts for us to find on our own by reading for ourselves. That helped me understand what was being discussed more, and helped me make the connections to
understand the course competencies as a whole.
• Fast response time on grading.
• For the short answer exams, he had me answer questions that I usually don't think about or that I had to really think about.
• Gave clear examples of the task at hand and what we needed to accomplish threw out the course. Everything was set up nicely and was easily accessible.
• Gave good and informative input to my assignments.

• Having fast response times to my questions and having my questions answered in a way that made sense helped me a lot.
• He gave me multiple quizzes along with prepared me for the mid term exam multiple modules before I had to complete it.
• He provided feedback almost immediately and was very understanding of my schedule.
• He related a lot of things to real life experiences and that helped with learning the information better!

• I loved everything about Dr. B's class. I took 2 college classes at NTC through my highschool, and Dr. B really made it fun to come to my first course.
• I loved the in-class activities; they really helped me grasp the information better and gave me the chance to understand other people's perspectives. I also loved that he
was very nonjudgmental and that the classroom was a safe space to open up about our thoughts and ideas about subjects.

• Playing "devils advocate" to help the class understand more of what he was trying to teach us. Always went into more detail about a subject when someone had
questions or was confused.
• Professor Buemi, give lots of examples to contents being learn in class, and he also gives you a heads up if an assignment is going to be due soon.

• Simply the best Sociology instructor I've ever met in my student experience. I used to treat Sociology as a boring subject mostly because my previous teachers didn't
show as much interest and devotion as Samuel did. And Samuel changed my perception of Sociology completely. He always was so enthusiastic and energetic, he
genuinely enjoyed teaching. I can't thank Sam enough for making Sociology stand out so much.

• The instructor in this class had an infectiously positive attitude about the course and the material presented. I felt as though he provided well thought out, useful feedback
on graded materials. The course itself was well laid out and had clear expectations and instructions throughout. It was quite clear that the instructor was well versed in the
subject matter and that he cared about sharing his knowledge. All assignments were graded in a timely fashion and there was good clear notes and feedback in each
instance. I would gladly take another course taught by this instructor and would recommend him to other learners.
• The instructor provided a good format and set expectations up front of what was to be expected.
• The most helpful part in this course was the engagement of the students and the instructor. Having the students give their opinions/bias of the topics in class and relating
it to the learning plan, in my opinion, could be the most beneficial to a person when it comes to learning about society and ourselves. Overall, this course was the most
enjoyable and educational experience I've had this semester. Thank you.
• The visuals were great, as well as all of the visuals and activities we did. The more you interact with a class and get them involved, the more they will want to be there
and not be bored.
• This course was laid out beautifully for online learning. I was able to follow each module easily and teach my self the materials. I took a lot away from this course and I
am grateful for it. The essays and discussion boards made me use critical thinking to evaluate the information from our text which allowed me to further my knowledge on
each individual subject we looked at.
• Very clear expectations. Assignments were well explained and helpful in my learning of the material. Used current videos and topics to reinforce the learning.
• Very informational PowerPoints that went with each module.
• Very open to letting us learn at our own pace. My entire family got sick and there was a few days I could not do anything, Mr. Buemi was understanding and allowed me
the time I needed to keep myself and successfully finish this course.

• Change nothing
• Dr. B. Could have used less videos in class and implemented more class discussion on view points, and have a paper on our takes of the course as a whole and how
each chapter connect. There were still a lot of class discussions, but I believe having an assigned written paper would have been a nice way to be sure all materials were
fully understood.

• He was a great teacher! The only thing I would change is perhaps being more clear about what is expected of us from the Mid-term Written Assignment.
• I didn't always like the structure of the class/reading/quizzes, but that's more of a personal thing compared to some of the class structures. I definitely can't say that it
affected my quality of work or ability to do the work, but it wasn't my favorite set up.
• I have no criticism for the instructor, as I feel he did an excellent job. My main complaint for this course would be with the text book. Many of the suggested "essays" at
the end of the chapters were tough to get through and did not add much learning value. There were several occasions where I had to look to outside resources to find
answers to short answer quizzes that were not well explained in the textbook. The fact that the instructor provided quality power points for each module helped, but the
text book itself was somewhat lacking in my opinion. I feel that I read at an above average level and that if the readings were difficult for me to get through, others probably
had a hard time as well.
• If you already have the textbook I do not think that buying the Pearson should have been required. While the practice exams were a nice feature, there was no graded
material in the Pearson program.
• I'm not sure.. Can't think of any because he's doing good on his own!

• Nothing the experience was perfect in every way possible. I liked everything about the class and how easy it was for me to follow threw with things at my own pace.

• Though I really liked not having homework for this class, I felt like I didn't really know if I was fully understanding the material until I took the test. Sometimes the tests
were really difficult because of that. Maybe if some small discussion assignments or quizzes were implemented, that would help out students like me who need more
reassurance that I'm understanding everything.
