Strategic Planning Culture Goal:


FPS cultivates a culture in which all stakeholders engage in continuous learning,

MTSS Student Support Network


In districts where systemic reconfiguration disrupts current practice and creates a new
structure of coherent and aligned district and building systems to ensure success for all
students, this system is concerned with implementing and supporting a vision of high-
quality student support to effectively nurture and support all students who come to
school with non-academic needs that create obstacles for high achievement.

Agenda

Questions
1. How do we define non academic needs of students?

2. What are the social emotional, health, nutritional and behavioral
needs of our students?
a. Food service-some families not sure that free/reduced options
are available, dietary needs not met for all students (i.e.
religious beliefs, vegan)
b. Point person needed in each building to have a list of our f/r
students
c. Health-dental trucks, free physicals, vision/hearing
i. Build awareness, remove restrictions

Survey
● 5-10 questions about students receiving basic needs
○ Food, clothing, light/gas, physical screening, transportation
○ Questions need to be adjusted for each building level
(elementary, middle school, high school)

● Teacher Survey-what are your students non academic needs?

To Do:
● Emily, Airess, Chris, Kenya and Valada, Jackie-student survey
○ What are the questions?
○ Sample size-all staff, selected group
○ Google survey
● MaryBeth, Holly, Cindy, Naomi, Aaron and Paula-staff survey
○ Chris and Paula will email details about what is needed
○ Make sure that surveys are shared with Aaron and Naomi prior
to sending them staff and students
● Would like surveys out after Spring break-report back with
information by Friday, March 23
● Send out survey on April 11, completed by April 18
● Meet as whole group on Tuesday, April 24 at 2:45-Power Middle
School Media Center
