Annotation:
This visual shows the difference in incision done during an open myomectomy (left) and
a robotic-assisted myomectomy (right). This clearly shows how the types of incision are varying,
and displays the obvious difference in invasive surgery and minimally invasive. The paper
describes how open surgery used one large incision and minimally invasive uses several smaller
incision, and this is clearly displayed in this visual. This is also useful to support the claims
because it is somewhat difficult to visualize some of the surgical techniques. This visual provides
This would most likely be used in support of the second control, which focuses on the
imagination and will be a fast way to convey the point of how small incision really are. Since it
shows exactly where the incision are made, it can be used in reference to the internal structures
Annotation:
This visual shows several important structures of the uterus, which can be confusing to a
reader who has limited knowledge on the topic. Also, it shows the different locations in which
fibroids can grow. When these are described, it is difficult to imagine exactly where they are,
however, this visual shows and labels them clearly. This also makes it simpler to reference the
structures without having to explain them every time. Fibroids are also classified based on their
location and this visual is easy to reference and look back upon so the classifications don’t need
to be redefined.
This will be used in background since it is referenced in every other section following the
presenting it at the start will give the reader knowledge on this without having to continue on to
