• OBJECTIVES The students must be able to:

• Define form, motif, and phrasing in dance


• Comprehend choreographic principles and structures of dance
• Explore and create movement phrasing and dance form

• Activity Activity # 1.
Instructions:
• The students are asked to respond to the Thought-to-
Ponder question “What are the characteristics of a
good dance?”
• At least five students to share their answers loudly in
class.
• 5 minutes allotted time will be given to students to
respond to the question
Activity # 2.
• A video clip of itik-itik dance will be shown.
• Students to observe how the dance develops.
• Students are asked to identify the beginning, middle,
and end sections of the dance.
• With their own words, students are asked to write a
description of how the choreographer developed the
dance.
• Analysis Let the students compare their analysis of the
choreography with an analysis of the same work made by a
classmate.
Let them note how their analysis may differ from one made
by the other student.
• Abstraction A short lecture by presenting a powerpoint presentation on
form, phrase, and motif in dance

Explain the motif and form used in the dance clip.

Provide a lecture on unity, variety, contrast, continuity, transitions,


repetition, and climax.

• Application INSTRUCTIONS:
• Instruct students to form into groups of five to ten members.
• Present the rubrics for Group Work.
• Students to do Activity 1 in page 19 of their book.
• Have each group present their works in the class.
• Have the students do Activity 3 in page 19
• Have each group present their works in the class.
• EVALUATION Critiquing
Instructions:
• The students are asked to do Activity 2 in page 19 of their book.
• The students will then be assessed by performance in linking a
dance phrase
• They will be asked to make an overall interpretation of their
performance based on their results.
• A duration of 5 minutes will be given to make the final assessment
• CLOSURE A good dance must have a shape or form for its choreography to be
effective.
