CONFIGURATION MODULE OVERVIEW


OBJECTIVES • Be able to configure an Aspen system for user specific
applications and setup information.
• Understand how to access and the purpose of the following
menus:
• Code/Setup
• Engineering Menu
• Code/Store and Recall

PURPOSE The configuration of a system can change the way it operates. It is


important to understand how to setup the system properly to meet
the needs of the user.

INSTRUCTIONS 1 Select the following menus in Code/Setup:


• AEGIS Program Specific functions
• VCR and Printer Configuration
• Print Control
2 Access the Engineering menu and the following selections:
• Version Report 101
• Configuration Report 102
• Install Applications 108
• Encryption Menu 109
• AEGIS Configuration 601
3 Change some imaging parameters and use Store Application to
store the settings as a new application.

ENGINEERING MENU The Engineering menu is a hidden configuration menu that was
designed to be used by Acuson employees and Biomedical
Engineers only.
◆ To access the Engineering menu:
1 Press TEST+CODE+SHIFT+V.
Figure 7-8 shows both pages of the Engineering menu.

Version Report 101 The Version report displays the system software versions in the
system. Figure 7-9 shows the first page of the Version report.

Configuration The Configuration report shows the capabilities that are enabled on
Report 102 this system. These values depend on the encryption strings and
hardware capabilities of the system. Figure 7-11 shows the first page
of the Configuration report.

Install Applications can be installed using engineering menu 112. Once


Applications 108 installed, they will be available to the user by selecting RECALL
APPLICATION.

Encryption Strings Encryption strings configure which functions are enabled on a
109 system and the information shown in the Configuration report.
These are changed as necessary during upgrades.

CODE STORE Users can store desired application settings by selecting STORE
APPLICATION APPLICATION and entering an application name.

SETTINGS BY FRU one or more configurations. When replacing a FRU with a spare, it
is important to verify that the spare is correctly configured.

only when performing the monitor calibration. Use the W2

suggested application for kidney imaging?

2 The system says “software sonopac not licensed” with an L7


connected. What is the first step in troubleshooting?

3 How can the user configure the duration of time for a clip store?

4 Which menu displays the system software levels? (This is needed


when calling the Helpdesk.)

Which menu displays the system serial number?

DocumentIf a system is networked, where is the IP address and
