Lesson Reflective Summary

MSP Cohort 2

School: Euharlee Elementary Grade: 5th

Lesson Topic: Electric circuits

The students enjoyed making circuits and getting the lightbulb to work. It was interesting
to see what they were adding to the circuits on their own before we even discussed
conductors and insulators. They were putting together series circuits so I took the
opportunity to tell them what is was that they were making.

The students’ performance objectives we attained to a degree that I am confident that

they have an understanding but will need to continue to go back and review.
All students were able to master a degree of understanding from what they experienced
and observed. I was a little surprised at how many still had misconceptions about object
being “on” when a circuit is open and “off “ when a circuit is closed. We will definitely
spend more time on this in a cumulative review.

When I reteach this this lesson, I will have the students open circuits and say “off”, then
close and have them say “on” as a group. And repeat this a few times.
