(Behavior) with 100 % accuracy (Degree) when they are asked (Condition).

Pencil, Board, Finger Print ( These are used in first part of the activity to create contract about classroom rules),
Hula hoop, Newspaper (These are used to make children familiar with self-space concept), Popplet to use

Teaching Activities [ASSURE (Utilize Technology, Media, and Materials and Require Learner Participation)]
Beginning of the activity, the teacher starts a discussion about classroom rules and they make a contract about
these rules. Then, teacher shows schema that is prepared on Popplet.com to children and extend their
understanding of classroom rules. Then, teacher tells a story related to the issue, and talks about self-space
with children. Children make self-space activity with Hula hoops by providing the teacher. Then, they continuo
with Newspaper dance.
Individual Learning Activities Self-space activates are done with Hula hoops and
newspapers are individual activates. Each child tries to
show a classroom rules without speaking to friends. İt
may be freezing, acting, and like a photograph
Group Learning Activities Children discuss and negotiate about the classroom
rules as a whole group.

Summary
Teacher asks a question to children as what do you think how do we behave in classroom to prevent the
chaos. Then, the teacher listens to each children’ answers carefully. Now, we will make a contract about our
classroom rules according to your advices. The teacher shows the schema of the classroom rules prepared on
the Popplet.com (http://popplet.com/app/#/4741009). After, the teacher starts a play. In play, each child tries
to show a classroom rules without speaking to friends. İt may be freezing, acting, and like a photograph. It is
up to children. Then she says that today I will tell story of Mert. Then she starts to tell story. “Mert her zaman
ki gibi bu sabah da erkenden uyanmış, kahvaltısını yapmış ve okula gidiyordu. Okula gitmeyi çok seviyordu
çünkü okulda her gün yeni şeyler öğreniyor ve arkadaşlarıyla oyunlar oynuyordu. Mert bugün yine sınıfta
arkadaşlarıyla koşarak oyun oynarken arkadaşının ayağına takıldı ve yere düştü. Çok canı yanmıştı ve
ağlamaya başladı. Mert’in ağladığını gören öğretmeni hemen yanına geldi ve neden ağladığını sordu. Mert
arkadaşıyla oyun oynarken onun ayağına takıldığını ve yere düştüğünü söylediğinde öğretmenleri onlara;
arkadaşlarınızla oyun oynarken kişisel alanlarınızı korumalısınız çocuklar. Eğer kişisel alanınızı korursanız hem
daha rahat oynar hem de kimseyi rahatsız etmezsiniz ve böylece birbirinizi yaralamazsınız” In this part, teacher
stops the story and asks children what is the rule That Mert did not obey. The teacher listen all children
answers and continues with the other question what personal space is. Then, the teacher listens the children
other answers. After children answer teacher show them their personal space by telling “Personal space is the
space which you cover when you open your arms. Now everybody stands up and opens the arms. If nobody
touches another, you are in your personal space. Now, let’s walk without touching another. After they walk in
their personal space, teacher continues to the story. “Mert o gün eve gittiğinde öğretmeninin söylediklerini
düşündü ve bundan sonra arkadaşlarıyla oyun oynarken kişisel alanını korumaya karar verdi. Eğer bir arkadaşı
onun kişisel alanına izinsiz girerse de onu uyaracaktı. Böylece hem kendisi rahat oynayacak hem de
arkadaşlarını rahatsız etmeyecekti.” When the story is end, teacher asks children if they were a Mert how do
they feel and what they do. Teacher talks with children and tries to learn their thinking and learning about
personal space. Then, she distributes hula hoop for each child and said that these hula hoops are your personal
space. After children go into the hula hoop, they start to walk without touching it with their body. They change
the way of their walking according to teacher’s directions like fast, flow, big step, small step, etc. when they
are walking, if their friends go in their personal space, they warn them. Then teacher takes back hula hoop and
distributes newspaper or kind of paper which has the same size with newspaper. After all children have paper,
teacher explains what they will do. These papers their personal space and they dance on the paper. When the
music turns off, children stop and fold the paper in half. Each time, they continue to fold the paper in half until
it is impossible to folding and to stay on the paper. After the activity, they do some cool down movements with
direction of the teacher. Then, they continue with assessment questions in a circle.

Measurement & Assessment Activities for The classroom rules are hold in the wall and children see
Individual Performance them. Each child in an order selects one rule and react it.
The other children try to know it.
Measurement & Assessment Activities for The teacher divides the classroom into groups of 4. Then,
Group Performance the additional activity is prepared by teacher. The
members of the groups hold each other with their arms
and try to walk around the classroom without hitting each
other.

Homework (optional) Teacher sends a note to parents for homework.

Today, we learn personal space and do some activities.
You can talk with your child about space awareness and
reinforce their understanding about personal space. I also
want you to go crowded place with your child like park and
mall because I want your child realize better important of
personal space. Also you can observe how your child act
when someone go in their personal space. Then you can
want your child draw about how they feel in this crowded
place and please share with us their feelings and drawings.

Explanation regarding to the implementation of the plan
The schema is prepared with Popplet is saved in USB if the internet connection gone. Also the schema of this
is printed if the electricity gone and Teacher hangs it on the wall.
