Narrative Report:
1. What transpired in the first meeting/initial planning?

The initial planning included the selection of topic to be discussed and the scheduling of the
LAC for this month. It was planned to be done after class hours. The topic that will be
discussed was selected from the current issues that are of utmost important to teachers,
knowing each other’s rights and privileges.

2. How did you implement your plan/s?

The learning action cell for the month of February utilizes the interactive method of
discussion where teachers share their prior knowledge on what they know about their rights as
a public-school teacher.

The topic for the month of February was “The Magna Carta for Public School Teachers and
Its Salient Provisions”, which would help teachers realize their roles, rights and benefits.

3. What were your findings?

The topic helped the teachers in increasing their awareness about the following major topics:
• The Declaration of Policy – Coverage.
• Recruitment and Career.
• Hours of Work and Remuneration.
• Health Measures and Injury Benefits.
• Leave and Retirement Benefits
• Teachers’ Organization.
• Administration and Enforcement.
It was found out that teachers know very little about their rights and benefits. It is therefore
important that this Magna Carta for Public School Teachers be their guide in performing their
duties and responsibilities as well as enjoying what is due and the right benefit that they
should rightfully deserve.
