Cloud Mountain Bungalow

This Bungalow is strategically placed within the Woodbriar plantation in such a way to extract the essence of the location. The view is splendid from any part of the
Bungalow’s compound. The entire plantation around here is spontaneously formed like a bowl shape, engulfed on all sides by tall mountains. The scenic lake system
adds magic to the landscape in the foreground. The bungalow has 3 spacious bedrooms, a large living room, dining room and a small library. It has functional replaces
that can be enjoyed during the winter months.

Sand River Cottage

Sand River has 2 bedrooms, living room and the dining room. It has large bathrooms and a well pruned garden. It is peaceful and serene here with plenty of privacy.
The cottage is ideal for honeymooners. This vicinity is home to the Malabar whistling thrush which has an amazingly pleasant musical whistle; especially when it
resonates through the early morning cool air. You can occasionally see a strolling elephant just outside, from the safety of your cottage’s compound. Do walk around
with your camera. You could get some precious images!

Megamalai means cloud clad mountain. The name itself is descriptive of the awe inspiring Varushanad mountain ranges in the Western Ghats. The British planters
named it the Highwavys because of the wave like patterns these mountains create. Early mornings provide magical moments as snow white ribbons of cloud wrap
around these majestic mountains with just their peaks towering above those clouds. There are also 7 square kilometers of a scenic lake system winding through the
valley of the verdant hills adorning the plantation. In spite of the rather long drive through desolate forestry to reach Megamalai, the journey gives marvelous moments
of joy to the ones that love raw nature. As you get closer to Megamalai, the waves like formation of the ‘Highwavys’ will start creating a visual splendor that can evoke
poetry in anyone who is sensitive to the beauty of nature. From the plains afar they appear as tall, handsome and rippling ranges of prodigiously steep mountains. As
the light changes, they form picturesque wavy shapes of blues and greys to add mystique to their awesome presence. Megamalai now has become a unique
destination for ardent nature lovers who cherish a blend of privacy with un-imposed wildlife adventure during personalized plantation stays.

Rich in Wildlife

Megamalai can be reached via Theni and Chinamannur. This is a town exclusively based on agriculture. From Chinamannur it is 43 kilometers to Megamalai by road. It
is a rugged terrain and perhaps one of the most uninhabited and desolate areas you could travel through in south India. You won’t see human settlements on either
side of the road. It is reserve forest on both sides till you see the Woodbriar tea estates as you near the Megamalai area. There is only very little human interference in
this entire area and the Periyar Tiger Reserve boarders the tea estates. This is precisely why there is an abundance of ora and animal life in this area.
