Hydraulic Load Cell

1. Using the adjustable lock out screws, adjust the injector head until the upper and lower load
cell
plate gaps are equal.
2. Bleed any entrapped air from both pipe-light and pipe-heavy load cells.
3. Once the air has been purged, pump automatic transmission fluid ATF oil (IPM00357) or a
50/50% water/glycol mixture into the pipe-heavy load cell until it contacts the upper load cell
plate. Stop pumping once the load cell makes contact with the injector body.
NOTE: Pumping beyond this point will cause inaccurate weight readings.
4. Zero the pipe heavy and pipe light scales on the weight indicator gauge.
5. Loosen the nuts on the two jacking screws; as you loosen these nuts your pipe heavy scale
should
start showing a positive weight. After the nuts on the jacking bolts are loose, record the weight
reading on the pipe heavy scale.
6. Zero the pipe heavy.
7. Pump up the pipe light load cell until you have 1/16th to 1/8th inch gap between the pipe light
load
cell strike plate and the injector body.
8. Zero the pipe light load cell.
Option 1: Preset the pipe light scale on the weight indicator gauge to the weight that you
recorded in
step 5.
Option 2: Leave the light scale at zero. If this option is used you must remember to add the
weight
you recorded in step 5 to the value shown on the pipe light scale.
NOTE: When pumping up the hydraulic load cells, only the Heavy Load Cell should be in
contact
with the injector body. The Light Load Cell should have an air gap as noted in Step 7.
Incorrect
weight readings will result if Both Load Cells are in contact with the body.
