Students support anti-electricity misspend

Students are one with the campaign of the school administration in promoting energy
conservation to address the increasing electricity bill during the first 3 months of the school year 2017.

Vincent Arriesgado, Basic School Registrar, stated his concerns if the increase of the electrical
bill due to misuse will further continue.

“An increased electricity bill is a burden not just to the administration but especially to the
students since a certain percent of their tuition fees are accustomed for the school bills,” he emphasized.

He added that he is grateful by the cooperation manifested of the students in institution.

“In our room, I assigned people who focus on preserving the electricity each day. This consists of
turning off the electric fans and lights after the last period,” stated by Cydde Mina, class President of
Grade 7-Orion.

The students also displayed efforts in accompanying the administration in their objectives by
voluntarily surrendering their cellphones and by immediately unplugging appliances if not used.

“It is also one of our class rules to not turn on the lights in the morning. In this way, we can save
electricity by conserving the natural light as much as possible,” Mina indicated.

The latest measure of the campaign includes posting warning banners around the school for
everyone to be well-knowledgeable about the need of the institution for energy conservation.

“I feel like this campaign of the administration molded the self-discipline not just mine but to
each individual. This should be a lesson that we must not waste energy and maximize things with a
lesser damage,” Chai Salud, one of the students in the said school openly shared.

According to the administration, the concerns involving the misspend of electricity will continue
to decrease if the support from the students will carry on.
