25 February 2018
Thank you for your application to our Festival, forwarded by Karan Mithi. This letter is to formally
invite you to perform at the Princeton Traditional Music Festival on 17 – 19 August 2018. Our
festival takes place every year in August and is now in its eleventh year. The festival is held on
three stages in downtown Princeton, a town of about 3000 people 300 kilometres east of
Vancouver. Our festival is run entirely by volunteers and no admission is charged. The
performers are not paid a fee but we do provide them with food and accommodation for the
weekend of the festival. Our festival is run by the Princeton Traditional Music Society, a non-
profit, charitable organization that is supported by local, regional, provincial and federal
governments. We also receive funding from the sale of ads in our Program Guide and from
donations by appreciative audience members.
We believe your music will be very well received at our festival. South-western British Columbia
has one of the largest populations of Indo-Canadians in the country. Our previous MLA, Harry
Lali, is himself a member of that community. Your performance at our festival would be a
wonderful opportunity for them to hear music from their homeland. It will also be an opportunity
for some of our audience members to hear music they have never heard before.
We have watched videos of your performances online and look forward very much meeting you
and having you perform at our festival.
Yours sincerely,
Artistic Director
