LESSON PLAN

Education unit : Junior High School

Subject : Writing XI

Class/semester : XI/2

Time : 2 X 40 Minutes

A.CORE COMPETENCE

B. LERNING OBJECTIVES

1. Students are able to identify active and passive voice.

2. Students are able to distinguish between active and passive voice.

3. Students are able to make an example of the material.

C. BASIC COMPETENCE

1. Apply social functions, structural elements of oral and written transactions involving
giving and soliciting information relating to the circumstances / actions / activities of the
event without mentioning the perpetrator in accordance with the context of its use.( Pay
attention to the passive voice language element.)

2. Prepare a very short and simple text of written oral transactional interaction that involves
the act of requesting and giving related to the action / action / activity / event without
needing to mention the culprit by noting the social function of the text structure and
linguistic correctness and corresponding context (note the element of the passive
language.)

Passive Voice
Passive voice is a grammatical construction (grammatical form) where the subject
of the sentence does not take action, but receives action or is acted upon by the other
agent (doer of action) whether mentioned or not.

Pattern:

(S+ Auxiliarly Verb+Past Participle)

e.g

1. My mother cleans the kitchen once a week. (active)

The kitchen is cleaned by mother once a week (passive)

Active : clean

Passive : am/is/are+ cleaned

2. My father repaired the car, yesterday(active)

The car was repaired by my father (passive)

Active : repaired

Passive : was/were+repaired

3. Many tourist have visited that beach (active)

That beach has been visited by many tourists (passive)

Active : have visited

Passive : has/have+been+visited

Steps Practical Learning Activities

Core activity (60 minutes)


a) Observing

 Teachers provide transactional text, learners observe active and passive phrases in
the text

 Learners listening to teacher explanations about active and passive sentences

 Teacher gives examples of sentences Passive and active, then specify the structure
of the sentence.

b) Question (Spoken Orally on the Right Place)

 Provides an opportunity for learners to ask questions.

c) Gathering information

 Teachers provide text that is complete sentence by using passive sentence

 Students individually answer the text

d) Associate

 Students are divided into small groups

 Teachers provide the task of filling the table that has been provided with passive
voice sentence With the text provided beforehand,

 the teacher guides each group according their problem

e) Communicate

 Each group presents their group work

 Teachers provide reinforcement by correcting the text structure and linguistic


elements of the passive Voice sentence

f) Closing (10 minutes)

 After following the learning activities at this meeting , Learners are asked how
they feel (REFLECTION).

 The teacher asks questions to see if the Learners have understood the topic of "the
use of the expression of necessity.

 The learner is asked to make a conclusion of the lesson at this meeting.


 The teacher presents the material for the next meeting of The leader close the
