Writing Portfolio Capstone Paper

Over the years, each my writing and reading skills drastically improved. I learned

new writing skills that helped advance my writing items. However, i used to be wired

over the years as a result of i noticed the many mistakes i'd create in my essays.

Although, the previous years helped develop my important, reflective, and analytical

skills in each writing and reading, I had troubles managing my descriptive linguistics

problems, and my previous English categories helped ME improve this struggle. My

English categories helped ME improve my descriptive linguistics errors. to Illustrate,

Mrs. O'keefe, my English teacher for three years, provided strategies which will improve

my writing items and create them attention-grabbing for readers.

There are many reasons why I picked Bioengineering as my major. The biggest

reason is my grandpa. My grandpa gave me his first name, and when I was born he told

my parents that I will turn out like him. As I grow up my opinions on certain topics

change. For example I was interested in cars when I was young, but now I am not as

interested. My grandpa created hearing aids for a living. My grandpa wanted to help
people; that is why he did his job. I want to be just like him and help others. When I was

in highschool my grandpa told me about bioengineering. The things he told me opened

my eyes and made me feel something I never felt before. As I got older I took a class

that was designed for bioengineering in Albania.

In tenth and eleventh grade I learned a way to write my essays within the five

paragraph essay format. Since I solely knew a way to write my essays within the five

paragraph format, I needed to find out a distinct strategy to write down my essays so as

to have interaction my readers. I needed to find out a way to write college-level essays,

and to maneuver on the far side what I presently learned. Therefore, in eleventh and

twelfth grade I learned a way to write in APA format and MLA format. I learned that it's

necessary to use one in every of these formats in my essays, and that they embrace

double spacing. in addition, I learned that the MLA format is additional compact.

whereas engaged on my essays, I learned a way to use transition words in my essays

reminiscent of initial, second, next, last, etc. I learned to not ingeminate my thesis in my

conclusions as a result of that wouldn’t have interaction the readers, and it doesn’t profit

my essay. Not solely did my English categories facilitate Maine improve my reading and

writing skills, however it helped Maine learn additional concerning politics and social

problems within the us, and the way these events or stories have an effect on folks

living in society.
 I started to really enjoy learning more about bioengineering. While I was about to

finish the class I was taking in Albania, that my grandpa was paying out his pocket, my

grandpa passed away. Once he passed away I knew that I need to finish what I started,

not just for me, but for him. He passed down the love he had for bioengineering to me.

The fact that my grandpa helped me really means a lot to me because he put a lot of

effort and time towards me. At the end of the summer I passed the class with an A. The

thing that really stood out to me in that class was how it was hands on learning and

that's what bioengineering is all about. I like the fact that a profession in bioengineering

would help others. I want to help others just like my grandpa did. That is why I want to

pursue this major and follow in the footsteps of my grandfather.
