WE ARE A TRAILBLAZER!
The Philippines Transformative Approaches to Innovative Leadership (TRAIL) Summer Camp is a five-day intensive training
program developed by Youthlead Philippines (YLP). The program aims to equip youth and adult leaders with the right skills
and values to make their leadership more meaningful and dynamic using transformative approaches. It further endeavors to
simplify the principles of transformational leadership, make them real by using specific, individual, and team-based exercises
giving trainees the exciting experience of “learning by doing” and “learning while having fun”.

Now in its fifth year, the back-to-basic TRAIL Camp exposes trainees to different learning environments filled with various
indoor and outdoor exercises. Topic presentations are rendered by high caliber speakers while program facilitation is handled
by a pool of trained facilitators from YLP. Other activities include solidarity dances, ideation sessions, and reflection pathways
meant to stimulate and keep the youth and adult leaders grounded and engaged. The trainees will be grouped into Tribus
and shall compete with one another the title of the 2017 TRAIL Camp Primus Tribu. Another highlight of this year’s TRAIL
Camp is the continuing roll out of the “Pambansang Barkadabayani: The Search for the Ten Outstanding Youth Organizations
of the Philippines,” another program of YLP that aims to recognize the contributions of youth organizations to their school,
constituencies, and communities.

The TRAIL Camp is considered a pioneer in the area of capacity development for youth and adult leaders and has been
receiving endorsements from the Commission on Higher Education, Department of Education, and National Youth
Commission. It also garners consistently an average evaluation score of 82 percent A (Excellent) from its trainees since
2013. YLP is a non-stock, non-profit, and non-political youth development organization duly registered under the Securities
and Exchange Commission, National Youth Commission, and Bureau of Internal Revenue. Lastly, a portion of the proceeds of
the TRAIL Camp will go to YLP’s community development projects in the areas of education and environment.
