Ya lo decía Henry Ford "El fracaso es una gran oportunidad para volver a ganar con más
inteligencia". Con esta frase para resumir la historia del magnate chino Jack Ma, actualmente
el hombre más rico de China según la revista Forbes.

Jack Ma proviene de una familia humilde, criado en la región de Hangzhou bajo las estrictas
reglas marxistas del régimen comunista chino. Nunca fue muy buen estudiante, de hecho
suspendió dos veces el examen de acceso a la universidad. Las matemáticas eran la asignatura
que peor se le daba, él mismo ha reconocido en varias entrevistas que los números no son lo
suyo. En cambio siempre fue bueno en inglés, por lo que decidió estudiar magisterio. Comenzó
dando clases de inglés por 12 dólares al mes.

Fue rechazado en más de 30 trabajos antes de convertirse en uno de los hombres más ricos del
mundo. Intentó entrar en la policía pero fue rechazado con un frío "no sirves para esto". Otro
de sus grandes FRACASOS sucedió cuando intentó entrar a trabajar en la cadena de comida
rápida KFC y de los 24 aspirantes al empleo fue el único que no lo consiguió. También fue
despedido de un McDonalds. Esto lejos de amilanarlo le dio impulso para seguir superándose a

empresa de comercio electrónico en internet Alibaba, con un capital inicial de 50.000 dólares.
La idea era contactar a los fabricantes chinos con empresas extranjeras, incorporando un
método de compra segura que funcionaba con un sistema de puntuación a los vendedores.

La star-up fue financiada con la ayuda de los pocos amigos que confiaban en su idea de

dólares, superando a otros gigantes como Ebay y Amazon.
