The reconstruction of porous media is of great interest in many fields and has application in the areas of

earth science and engineering, biology, medicine, and machine learning. In petroleum industry it is often
required to generate 3D representative models of the reservoir or pore space to analyze multiphase flow
through geologically realistic medium. Multiple-point Geostatistics is the new research interest where it
replaces traditional variograms to describe geological continuity and uses training image or template
instead. A template or several templates are used to scan the image to determine the probability of
occurrence of certain patterns. The training image provides a conceptual description of the subsurface
patterns of facies or properties derived from a geological sketch, an outcrop image, a modern depositional
environment, seismic data, etc, or a combination of these to generate a series of realizations. Here we
will use the Multiple-point statistics or training images to generate 3D pore space representations. The
modeling is based on pixel based representations to provide large scale patterns in facies analysis. The
transport properties here are the relative permeability and capillary pressure functions defining behavior
in porous media. These functions mainly depend on geometry, morphology, or topology of porous
medium, and physical interaction between rock grains and fluids.
