1 Prerequisites
NevoTV should be installed according to the procedures described in NevoTV Installation Guide.

1.1 Msmq Setting


1) On your desktop click Start->AdministrativeTools->Server Manager.
2) In left-pane click plus sign next to Features to unfold its content. Select Message Queuing and
right-click to select Properties.
3) Message Queuing Properties window appears. Storage limits checkboxes appear ticked.
Uncheck Storage limits as shown below. Click Apply.

4) The message Queuing service has to be restarted for the changes to take effect. Do you want
to restart the Message Queuing service now? Message appears. Click Yes.

5) Click OK.

2 CONTENT MANAGER Console login


6) Start your browser, and enter
http://ServerIPAddress/nevotvmanagement/
into Address field. Press Enter key.
7) CONTENT MANAGER Console Login screen appears.
8) Enter User Name as admin, Password as voyager. Click Login
9) CONTENT MANAGER Console window appears.

3 Property Configuration
1) You can access to Administrative Tools Console, either by clicking Administrative Tools in menu
bar of Content Manager,

or, into your web browser Address field, type:


http://ServerIPAddress/administrativetools , and
then Press Enter key.
2) Administrative Tools Console Login screen appears.
Enter User Name as admin, password as voyager.
Click Login.
3) Administrative Tools Console appears.
Click Unit->Property Configuration.

4) Click pen icon next to the default Property. Change as required.


5) In General Section at the top, enter name of the Hotel into Name field.
6) Enter a unique code for the Hotel into Code field.
7) Click drop-down menu and select Time Zone.

8) Browse to Kernel Manager Section, Is Default checkbox should be ticked as shown in the
example below.
9) WakeUp Alarm Type field comes as Phone by default, click drop-down menu and select it as
TV.

10) Browse to Wakeup Parameters section, assign Wakeup as required, example values are shown
below.

Max Try Count Maximum number of calls for wakeup, after this number is exceeded wakeup status
will be fail. (value unit: integer) e.g. 5
Max Busy Count When telephone line is busy maximum number of calls for wakeup after this number is
exceeded wakeup status will be fail. (value unit: integer) e.g. 5
Max Snooze Count After the user presses snooze button as much as the number defined here, then wakeup is
accepted as successful. (value unit: integer) e.g. 5
Max No Answer Count Phone rang, nobody answered, as much as the number defined here, then wakeup status
will be fail. (value unit: integer) e.g. 5
Max Forward Count If the telephone is forwarded-it will be rang as much as the number defined here, then
wakeup status will be fail. (value unit: integer) e.g. 5
Snooze Wait Time When the user presses snooze button new wakeup will be set after time
defined here. (value unit: milliseconds) e.g. 300000
Busy Wait Time If the telephone is busy, next wakeup will be set after time defined here. (value unit:
milliseconds) e.g. 300000
No Answer Wait Time If the telephone is not answered, next wakeup will be set after time defined here. (value
unit: milliseconds) e.g. 300000
Forward Wait Time if the telephone is forwarded, next wakeup will be
set after time defined here.
(value unit: milliseconds)
Min Completion Time During wake up message listening duration—if the phone line connection is established
wakeup is accepted as successful. (value unit: milliseconds) e.g. 2000.
Max Ring Count Maximum number of ringing for wake up call. e.g. 5
Digits For Snooze Number keys that can be used for Snooze (can be selected multiple).
(Ctrl + Click for multiple) (0 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 # * )
Wake Up Time Out Mimimum Allowed Time Out is 60000 Only Digits are allowed. e.g. 180000

11) Browse to XML Services section, click drop-down menu and select Time Mode (12 (US only) or
24 hour format).

Time Mode Time format can be selected as 12 or 24 hours.


Proxy Server If proxy server is used, Type the proxy IP Address
(e.g. 172.56.33.122:8080)

12) Browse to NevoTV section, Click Set.

13) Weather Location Selection window appears. As default, US


only is ticked.
Untick checkbox if you want to set a location other than a US city.
For example let’s find Hamilton city in Bermuda. Enter hamilton
into City Name field, a list appears, highlight and select city and
country.

14) City Code appears in City Code field. Click OK.

15) City Code appears in Weather Location Code field.


16) Click drop-down menu and select Weather Unit.
17) Enter default currency that will be used for Billing and reports into Default Currency field.
(e.g.EGP(Egyptian Pound), USD, etc.)
18) Click Update.

3.1 Scheduling Weather


You can assign a scheduling period for weather to get fresh data as required. Change Default
scheduling time for Weather as 4 or 6 hours to prevent DB overload.

1) Click Start->Programs-Nevotek-New Generation->NevoTMSetting.


2) Enter user name and password, click Login.
3) Task Manager Settings window appears. Click Task Schedule Tab.
4) Task Schedule List window appears.
5) If you do not see Weather Update, select * new entry field as shown below. Double-click.

6) Enter a Task Name into task Name field. Click Application radio button.
7) Click Browse under Run field and select NG_WeatherComponent_DataUpdater.exe file under
C:\Program Files\Nevotek\NevoTM folder as shown. Click Open.

8) NevoTM folder content appears. Select NG_WeatherComponent_DataUpdater.exe. Click


Open.
9) In Run field, type –silent at the end of

10) Tick Enabled (scheduled task runs at specified time) checkbox as shown below. Click Schedule

11) Schedule Tab appears. Click New. Set as required. In the example below, Scheduled Task will
be repeated every day at 9 o’clock, starting on 26th of May 2010.

12) Click Advanced to set repeat time and interval of the task. Select Start date, Repeat Task
checkbox should be in ticked mode, Select Every as 15 minutes. If end time is required, enter
data. Click OK.
13) Task Editing window appears. Click OK.
14) New added task, Weather Updatewill be listed as shown below.

15) Click Apply and then OK on Nevotek Task Manager Settings window.

3.2 VOD Settings


Video On Demand Server settings.
1) Login to Admin. Tools console, Click Unit->Property Configuration.
2) Browse to NevoTV Section, enter required VOD parameters as shown in the example picture
below, enter VOD Server User Name and Password into Vod User Name (e.g. admin) and Vod
Pasword (e.g. paris) fields.
3) Enter VOD Server Interface URL into VOD Server Interface URL as
http://ServerIPAddress/admin/login.php
e.g. http://172.30.104.7/admin/login.php
4) Enter Buffer Duration in minutes (e.g. 15)
5) Enter VOD Server IP Address into Vod IP field. (e.g. 172.30.104.7)
6) Enter VOD Server Disk Path into Vod Disc path field. (e.g. demo)

VOD Disc Path can be seen in following VOD Server Interface image (e.g. demo)

7) Click Update.

4 Devices
Here devices can be imported, monitored; their firmwares updated, and discover devices if a
device will be replaced.

4.1 To import Enseo/Amino STBs to the system


1) Place all STBs in the rooms, connect to the TVs, to the network and “power-on”.
2) If it is not already configured, configure DHCP with the required options.
3) Get the list of STBs' MAC Addresses (as entered on an excel sheet)for each room number.
An example for MACADDRESS list required is shown below:

4) Write those MACAddresses into the STB Import File to be imported to the database.
STB Import file should be saved as .csv or .txt file that includes following fields, even if an entry is

5) Save STB Import file under a folder, e.g. C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\ NevoTVManagement\Source
folder and authorize this Source folder with Modify option for IIS users .
6) Login to Administrative Tools console, click Create From File –> Hotel & Device.
7) Click Browse in File Path field, to select the file that you prepared as described above which
includes STB Import data.
8) e.g. C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\ NevoTVManagement\Source\STBImport.xlsx
9) In Delimiter field, enter the same character used in unit device file text for separation. (e.g. : , \
_ - ) into Delimeter field. We recommend you to use : character.

10) Click Upload. Saved successfully message appears.

4.2 DHCP Configuration for Enseo


In order to enable getting homepages initially for Enseo STB’s, apply following procedure.
1) To configure DHCP scope options, open DHCP.
2) Expand IPv4, expand Scope.
3) Click Scope Options.

4) Set Scope options for the firmware above 2.14.x as shown in the example below.

 Note: Scope options for the firmware below 2.14.x, DNS configuration is not required.

4.3 To set the NevoTV server as Time server


Date and Time will be received from the NTP server.
1) Start>Run and then type regedit and press OK.

ent\SpecialPollInterval(93a80hex, 604800 dec)) The ‘Special Poll Interval' registry entry defines
the period in seconds that the Windows machine should poll the NTP server. A recommended
value is 900 seconds, which equates to every 15 minutes.

addresses or DNS names, separated by a space, of NTP servers that the Windows 2003
machine can synchronise to.

7) Windows Time service on the server should be stopped. Then set the time correctly on the
server according to the time on the phones which provides CCM then start the service.
8) Find related scope at DHCP, right click on DHCP options. Find ‘Time server’ option and add the
server IP.

9) Find related scope at DHCP, right click on DHCP options. Find ‘NTP servers’ option and add the
server IP.

and add the server IP.

4.4 To change a faulty Enseo/Amino STB


First of all faulty device should be deleted from the room and device list via Web Interface, then
new device should be discovered via STB Import file.
1) Login to Administrative Tools console. Click Device->Devices.
2) Device Maintenance window appears. Highlight the faulty STB you want to delete, click Trash
icon at the right of the window.
3) Confirmation message appears, click OK.
4) Plug in the new unit, connect to the TVs, to the network and “power-on”.
5) Click Devices->Device Discovery->Enseo (or Amino).
Device Discovery enables to detect devices within given IP address range and if there are
devices which are not in database, device discovery adds them to the database. In
Administrative Tools, Devices section, these devices should be assigned to the room.
6) Enter IP address range. Click Discover NevoTV Devices.
7) Device will be discovered and inserted to the database.
8) Add data of new STB into STB Import file as described in 4.1To import Enseo/Amino STBs to the
system.
9) Login to Administrative Tools console. click Create From File –> Hotel & Device.
10) Click Browse in File Path field, to select the file that you prepared as described above which
includes STB Import data. With this action; STB is assigned to the room.
11) Click Upload.

4.5 Device Provisioning (only for Amino)


Enables to reach selected STB’s and change home pages. After device discovery operation,
selected devices will be provisioned here.
1) Click Device->Device Provisioning->Amino110.
2) Device Provisioning window appears.
3) Tick checkboxes of the devices to be provisioned. Click Start Provisioning.
4) Provisioned message appears.
Note: To check provisioning, click Device->Monitor.

5 Monitoring
In Monitoring window all connected devices are listed.
1) In CONTENT MANAGER console, Click Devices->STB Management.
2) All devices are listed.
3) MAC Address of device and room info appears.
4) Red icon indicates that STB is not functional.

Click Update Devices to find devices discovered and update database.


Green icon indicates that STB connection information is updated successfully and STB is
functional.

6 TV Channels
You can define TV Channels that will be displayed on TV here.

6.1 To create a TV Channel parameter


1) Login to Content Manager console. Click Parameters->TV Channels. TV Channels Parameters
window appears. Click Add new record to add a new TV channel.
2) TV Channels Parameters editing window appears. Type a unique name for the TV Channel
(e.g. CNN International).
3) Enter URL address of the TV Channel in Server.Consult Nevotek personnel for the correct URL
address
IMPORTANT!!When defining a TV Channel, if any parameter is written incompletely, then TV
Channel List cannot be displayed.
Correct format should be IP Address:port no (e.g. 239.2.6.1:1234)

4) Enter a description if required.


5) Enter Audio, Video and PCR PID codes if required.
6) (PID: Each table or elementary stream in a transport stream is identified by a 13-bit packet ID
(PID).You can find these codes at satellite webpage)
7) Click drop-down menu and select Time Zone of the hotel.
8) Enter TVId required for Electronic Programme Guide ((EPG); Protocol for a TV Guide using
electronic data transmission.) (e.g. 3306-Rai Premium)

9) Click Insert. Operation completed successfully message appears.


10) Added TV Channel will be listed. Add channels as required.
11) See 12Tree Management to assign TV Channels to TV Channels Tree.

6.2 To add TV Channel logo


1) Login to Content Manager Console. Click Parameters>TV Channels.
2) Click Images link of the TV Channel you want to add logo.
3) Pop-up window appears. Click Add new record.
4) Select Device Type (e.g. STB).
5) Select Device Model (e.g. Enseo)
6) Click Browse next to Image and select the TV Logo file (50X32 px PNG format)
7) Click Insert.

6.3 To delete a TV Channel


To delete a TV Channel, you must: delete it in User tree, then remove it from Schema to Master
Tree, and finally delete TV Channel item in TV Channels parameters list.

6.3.1 To delete TV Channel from User Tree


1) Login to Content Manager Console. Click Tree->TV Channels.
2) Click on the User Tree of your hotel, see it is highlighted.
3) Click pen icon to edit.
4) Schema Tree and User Tree appears. Click on the TV Channel you want to delete under User
Tree, see it is highlighted.
5) Right-click your mouse, Remove appears as shown below, click Remove.

6) Are you sure you want to delete it? message appears. Click OK.
7) TV Channel is deleted from User Tree.
8) DO NOT forget to Click Save Tree.
9) You must also delete TV Channel from the Schema Tree and Parameters.

6.3.2 To delete TV Channel from the Schema Tree.


1) Click Tree->Schema->TV Channels.
2) Master Tree and Schema Tree appears. Click plus sign next to TV Channels under Schema Tree.
TV Channels appear.
3) Click on the TV Channel you want to delete under Schema Tree, see it is highlighted. Right-click
your mouse, Remove appears as shown below, click Remove.

4) Are you sure you want to delete it? message appears. Click OK.
5) TV Channel is deleted from Schema Tree.
6) DO NOT forget to Click Save Tree. You must also delete TV Channel from the Parameters.

6.3.3 To delete TV Channel item from TV Channel Parameters


1) Click Parameters->TV Channels. TV Channels Parameters window appears.
2) Click on the TV Channel you want to delete, see it is highlighted.
3) Click Trash icon next to the TV Channel you want to delete as shown below.

4) Delete item? message appears. Click OK.


5) Reset IIS. TV Channel is deleted.

6.4 To assign TV Channel Tree to Specific Rooms (for Enseo)


You can assign TV channels as required to specific rooms by TV Channels Tree.
1) Click Tree->TV Channels and access to TV Channels Tree page.
2) Click on the Tree that includes TV channels required, see it is highlighted.

3) In Assign to Room Number or Reload Selected TVs section click drop down menu of Select
Hotel Name and select Hotel.
4) Checked In Rooms appear. Tick checkboxes of the rooms that will see TV channels selected as
shown in the example below. Click Assign to Room(s).

5) Tree is assigned to hotel rooms (users) message appears. Click OK.

6.5 To unassign TV Channel Tree from Specific Rooms (for Enseo)


You can unassign TV channels as required from specific rooms.
1) Click Tree->TV Channels and access to TV Channel Tree page.
2) Click on the TV Channel User Tree, see it is highlighted.
3) Right-click on Hotel Name and click Details.

4) Details window appears. Tick checkboxes of the rooms that will be unassigned as shown in the
example below. Click Unassign Room(s).

5) Close details window.

6.6 EPG Assignment and Display


IMPORTANT!!  InfoButtonTarget should be configured as EPG from Administrative Tools-
>Property Configuration page.
o If parameter is set to Guide, user will be able to view Guide in NevoTV
o If parameter is set to EPG, user will be able to view EPG in NevoTV.
 For system to work properly, ChannelId column should be updated in master
tree’s unspecifiedproperty. An insert or update operation will automatically
update master tree property.
 EPGMaxDateValue is configured as 12 by default. This value can be
changed under Administrative Tools->Parameters Maintenance.
This value ensures that user cannot make database requests to get EPG data
after 12 days of the current date. In other words, EPG data will be limited to 12
days.
1) In CONTENT MANAGER Console, click Parameters->TV Channels.
2) TV Channels Parameters window appears. Click pen icon next to TV channel that you will
assign its EPG number.
3) Enter TVId required for Electronic Program Guide.
(Electronic program guides (EPG) provides users of television, radio, and other media
applications with continuously updated menus displaying broadcast programming or
scheduling information for current and upcoming programming. e.g. 3401-Rai Uno, 8204-BBC
World News, 3306-Rai Premium, etc.)

4) Click Update.
5) Turn off TV, wait for a while and turn on TV again.
6) Reboot STB.

6.6.1 To get EPG Data and Scheduling EPG


There are two ways to get EPG data, by using XML file or UDP. For both methods, scheduling should
be applied.

6.6.2 To get EPG data Using XML file


 The application reads the channels epg data from XML files that in IncomingEpg folder
 Epg data should be categorized by country name under IncomingEpg folder.
For Example: IncomingEpg\USA\on_usa_samp_tv_programs_20120316.xml
 Updating DB from xml files takes more than 1 hour, please be patient

Following parameters should be set:


1) Login to Administrative Tools Console. Click Tools->ParametersMaintenance.
2) Filter by NevoTVAgent. Enter EPG into Parameter Name field. Click filter icon. EPG parameters
will be listed.

3) Browse to EPG_SourceTarget parameter and click pen icon next to it to edit.


4) Enter ftp into Parameter Value field.
ftp: Reads the data from C:\Program Files\Nevotek\NevoTV\NevoTV Epg
Updater\IncomingEpg

5) Click Update.

6.6.3 To get EPG data directly from UDP stream


1) Login to Administrative Tools Console. Click Tools->ParametersMaintenance.
2) Filter by NevoTVAgent. Enter EPG into Parameter Name field. Click filter icon. EPG parameters
will be listed.

3) Browse to EPG_SourceTarget parameter and click pen icon next to it to edit.


4) Enter udp into Parameter Value field.
5) udp : Reads the data from Transport Stream
6) Click Update.
7) Browse to EPG_UDPInterface parameter and click pen icon next to it to edit.
8) Enter NG server network connection type, (for example: Local Area Connection)

10) Browse to EPG_UDPMaxWaitTime parameter and click pen icon next to it to edit.
11) Click Update.

6.6.4 To schedule EPG Data


1) Login to NevoTM_Settings->TaskScheduler.
Run or schedule:
C:\Program Files\Nevotek\NevoTV\NevoTV Epg Updater\NG_EPG_Updater.exe
2) If you run “NG_EPG_Updater.exe” manually with “ui” parameter, a popup screen will appear.
From that screen, select ‘UDP TS’ or “FTP TS” than click ‘Capture EPG’ button
3) Add -silent parameter:
C:\Program Files\Nevotek\NevoTV\NevoTV Epg Updater\NG_EPG_Updater.exe -silent
4) Turn off TV, wait for a while and turn on TV again
5) Reboot STB.

6.6.5 To display EPG


1) To display EPG information, press GUIDE button on Remote Controller(RC).
 If you press once, you will only see current program data.
 If you press twice, you will see all data for that channel
2) Press GUIDE or EXIT buttons to go back to full screen TV channel display.

6.8 To Add an Extra Menu Item


You can create extra menu icons and add categories as required. Then these items should be
assigned to Schema Tree and User Tree to appear on TV.
1) Click Parameters->Menu
1) Menu Items Parameters window appears. Click Add new record.
2) Enter Name of the item (e.g. Restaurants).
3) Item URL, will be added later. See 6.9.3 To find GUID code for extra menu item on Page 41.
4) Enter short description (optional).
5) Click Insert.
6) Operation completed successfully message appears. Click OK.

6.9 To assign image to extra menu item


1) Click Parameters->Menu
2) Added item appears in the list, click Images link of the new added menu item.
3) Image list window appears. Click Add new record.

4) For Device Type, click drop-down menu and select device type as STB.
5) For Device Model, click drop-down menu and select device model as Enseo or Amino.
6) Enter a title (e.g. Restaurants). Enter description if required.

6.11 TV Channels Import


If there are many TV channels, you can use this feature to import many TV Channels with a simple
procedure.
1) Prepare an Excel file that includes TV Channel names, descriptions and Item URls as shown in
the example below, name it as TVChannelsImport.xls.

2) Login to Administrative Tools console, click Create from File->Hotel&Device.


3) Uploading Unit and Device page appears. In Upload Tree Items section, click Browse next to
File Path field. Select the file you have prepared in previous step (TVChannelsImport.xls).
4) Click drop-down menu of Items and select TV Channels. Click Upload.

7 User Interface Management


User Interface (UI) Management in CONTENT MANAGER Console enables you to assign
background image, logo, etc.

7.1 Dynamic images


1) In CONTENT MANAGER console, click UI Management.
An example window is shown below:

2) For dynamic images, click Add new record.


3) Click Addnew record. Following window appears.

4) Click drop down menu and select Hotel.


5) Enter Attribute Name. See tables below for attribute names.

6) Let’s take Company logo entry as an example. Select Hotel Name and enter Attribute Name
as logoEnseo (or logoAmino).

7.2 Promotion Item


1) Click Parameters->Guide.
2) Guide parameters window appears.
3) Click Add new, create Promotions item.
4) Click Images next to created Promotions item.
5) Click Add new record.
6) Image menu appears. Click drop-down menu and select Device Type as STB.
7) Click drop-down menu and select Device Model (e.g. Enseo)
8) Enter Title.
9) Tick checkbox of Full Screen as shown below.

7.3.1 Preprompt Message for Welcome 4


This parameter is accessible from Multilanguage in Administrative tools, the translation that you put
in this item will show on the left side of screen as below:

1) Login to Admin.Tools Console, click MultiLanguage, browse to Preprompt Message, define as


required.
2) Click Update.

7.3.2 To set Welcome Page 5

You need to configure 4 sections, shown in the picture above marked with colored frames.
 Video or Sliding Image (via UI Management- for Sliding Image(s) add SlidingImage
parameter, SlidingImage 1, SlidingImage2, etc)
Sliding Image Size should be: 540X320 px
 Services (first 3 images via UI Management, add Services1, Services2, Services 3 as shown in
the example below) Click Browse to select image. Click Insert/Update.
Services Image size should be: 133x239 px

 Services Static image, if there is not any added before, add, ServicesStatic parameter via UI

tick checkbox of Enable in App Menu as shown below. Click Update.

3) Tick checkbox of Open with Welcome Screen field. Remember that Welcome screen overrides
Open TV with Channel Number feature.
4) Click Update.

Note:
If a video is requested to be played when the guest is checked in,
--click drop-down menu and select Welcome Page as Video
--and enter URL of this video into Hotel Video URL field.

7.4 To turn on with a certain TV Channel


TVs can be turned on with a certain TV Channel.

IMPORTANT!!
Remember that as Welcome screen overrides Open TV with Channel Number feature,
Open with Welcome Screen should not be ticked for TV Channel opening option
This feature will be valid for checked out and ready to be checked in rooms, for the
checked in rooms, this change cannot be applicable.

1) Login to Admin. Tools console, click Unit->Property Configuration.


2) Click pen icon next to the Property. Browse to NevoTV section; enter the channel number of
the TV requested into Open TV with Channel Number field.
3) Click Update.

7.5 To Set TV Channel Time Out Duration


This feature enables to set TV preview screen time out duration.
Minimum requirements
NevoTV 7.5.15.17 for Enseo/Amino and UniTV Conten Updater 7.5.15.12, DB 7.5.15.19
When We Use TVChannelTimeOut and TVChannelSelectTimeout Parameters
1. Scenario
a. Open TV menu
b. TV channels preview screen appears and waits as TVChannelTimeOut parameter
value and disappear
2. Scenario
a. Watching TV
b. Click OK button to see TV preview screen
c. TV preview screen waits 10 seconds(this is hardcoded and can not be changed)

a. Watching TV
b. Click OK button to open TV preview screen
c. Select a TV channel from the list and click OK button, TV preview screen waits as
TVChannelSelectTimeout parameter value and disappear

7.5.1 To set TV Channel list display duration


When Open with TV Channels option is selected, TV Channel Preview List is displayed for some
time. You can set the duration here.

1) Login to Admin. Tools console, click Tools->Parameter Maintenance.


2) Select NevoTV Agent for Filter by Module. Click Filter.
3) Click pen icon next to TVChannelTimeOut.
4) Change parameter value as required. (e.g.30000) (Unit is miliseconds).

Note: If you enter 0, duration will be accepted as one second.


5) Click Update.

7.5.2 To set TV Channel display duration (LG)


This parameter is used for TV channel Preview screen after TV channels selection from TV channel
list
1) Login to Admin. Tools console, click Unit>Unit Properties.
2) Filter by UniTV Module.
3) Click pen icon next to TVChannelSelectTimeout. Parameter value should be in miliseconds

7.6 Enseo Firmware Upgrade Settings


FTP should be configured at NG server and an account should be configured for ftp.
1) Login to Admin. Tools console, click Unit->Property Configuration.
2) Click pen icon next to the Property.
3) Browse to NevoTV section, Enter FTP
Server IP address into Enseo FTP Server IP
field.
4) Enter Enseo FTP Server port number into
Enseo FTP Server Port.
5) Enter the path where enseo firmware is
saved into Enseo FTP Firmware File Path
field (e.g. hd2000_init/update.eoc).
6) Enter user name to access ftp into Enseo
FTP Username field.
7) Enter user password to access ftp into Enseo FTP Password field.
8) Enter ftp into Enseo Firmware Transfer Protocol.
9) Enter DesignRed into Design Folder field (make sure that DesignRed is written case sensitive).

IMPORTANT!!! Enter 1 into Active Working CSS File field.


10) Click Update.

7.7 To list TV channels according to guest language


TV channels can be sorted according in favor of the guest language on TV: TV channels which are
in guest language can be listed on top.
1) Login to Admin. Tools Console, click Unit->Property Configuration.
2) Click pen icon next to the Property.
3) Browse to NevoTV Section, tick checkbox of Sort Trees According to Language.
4) Click Update.

IMPORTANT!!  Ensure that channels are assigned to a language in CONTENT MANAGER


Console, Parameters->TVChannels. (Send checkin message in related guest
language.)

7.8 TV Rating
This feature enables to list TV Channels according to Rating. When TVs are watched, system checks
every minute the channels watched and rating list shows most watched channels at the top when
the user checks in and turns TV on.

Minimum requirements:
 NevoTM_Database min 7.5.17.17, NevoTM_GAC_NGNEVOTV min 7.5.17.4, NevoTV min 7.5.17.6
is required.

7.8.1 To set Rating Interval


1) Login to Admin. Tools Console, click Unit->Unit Properties.
2) Click drop-down menu and select Module as UniTV.
3) Click drop-down menu and select Property.
4) Click Filter.

5) UniTV Module parameters will be listed. Click pen icon next to RatingInterval parameter to edit.
Default value is 600000 ms which is equal to 10 minutes. Enter a value as required.
6) Click Update.

7.8.2 To set Maximum Rating Time


1) Login to Admin. Tools Console, click Unit->Unit Properties.
2) Click drop-down menu and select Module as UniTV.
3) Click drop-down menu and select Property.
4) Click Filter.
5) UniTV Module parameters will be listed. Click pen icon next to MaximumRatingTime parameter
to edit. Default value is 10800000 ms which is equal to 180 minutes. Enter a value as required.
6) Click Update.

7.8.3 To Sort TV Channels according to Rating


1) Login to Admin. Tools Console, click Unit->Property Configuration.
2) Click pen icon next to the Property.
3) Browse to NevoTV Section; Tick checkbox of Enable Channel Rating Updater.
4) Tick checkbox of Sort Trees According To Rating.
5) Click Update.

 Please remember that if Sort Trees according to Language is also activated, Sort
Trees According To Rating will be ignored, Sort Trees according to Language will
be applied.
 User ratings will be saved on tables NG.T_NTV_Rating and NG.T_NTV_UserRating in
the database per minute. If this checkbox is left empty, user ratings will not be
saved.

7.8.4 To schedule NevoTV_TVRating Controller.exe


1) Click Start->Programs-Nevotek-New Generation->NevoTMSetting.
2) Task Manager Settings window appears. Click Task Schedule Tab.
3) Task Schedule List window appears.
4) If there is not adefined one, select * new entry field as shown below. Double-click.

5) Enter a task name into Task field. Click Application radio button.
6) Click Browse under Run field and select NevoTv_TvRatingController.exe file under C:\Program
Files (x86)\Nevotek\NevoTV\NevoTV_RatingController\. Click Open.
7) In Task Editing window, into Run field, type –console at the end of
C:\Program Files (x86)\Nevotek\NevoTV\NevoTV_RatingController\NevoTv_TvRatingController.exe
as shown:

8) Tick Enabled (scheduled task runs at specified time) checkbox as shown below. Click Schedule
Tab.

9) Schedule Tab appears. Click New. Set as required.


10) Click Advanced to set repeat time and interval of the task. Set as required. In the example
below, task will be repeated every 10 minutes for 23 hours and 59 minutes. Click OK.

11) Task Editing window appears. Click OK.


12) New added task, will be listed.

7.9 Favorite TV Channels List


If this feature is enabled, guests can create a favorite TV Channels list for his/her own.
1) Login to Admin. Tools Console, click Unit->Property Configuration.
2) Click pen icon next to the Property.
3) Browse to NevoTV Section; tick Support Favorite List checkbox as shown below.

4) Click Update.
5) Also, a menu item should be created with an image named as Favorite List and with an item
URL as favoritelist and should be assigned to the Hotel Menu.

7.10 Category based Favorite TV Channels List


A design is created for category based favorite TV channels list.
Requirements:
 NevoTV 7.5.20.49
 TV Tree should be category based.
 All channels category must be on the top and all other channels should be inserted under
all channels category.
To enable Favorite List
1) Login to Admin. Tools Console, click Unit->Property Configuration.
2) Click pen icon next to the Property.
3) Browse to NevoTV Section; tick Support Favorite List checkbox as shown below.

4) Click Update.
5) Login to Admin.Tools console, click Tools-> Parameter Maintanance.
6) Browse to-TVStyle Type parameter, click pen icon to edit as 2 (). New favorite list is not
supported with TvStyleType 0 and 1.
7) Favorites category should NOT be added to TVChannels tree manually (Reference Tree).

IMPORTANT!!!Favorite list is not support for non-category based TV channels even if its enabled

7.11 TV Channel Loading


TV channel list can be loaded at startup or after selecting TV channels menu. This feature is both
available on Amino and Enseo. NevoTV 7.5.15.28 and NevoTM_Database 7.5.15.33 are the
minimum required versions in order to make this feature work
1) Login to Admin. Tools Console, click Unit->Unit Properties.
2) Set “LoadTVChannelsAtStartup” parameter.
3) By default LoadTVChannelsAtStartup is 0. TV channel will be loaded after the user selects TV
menu.
If parameter Is set to 1, TV channels will be loaded when NevoTV reloads.

7.12 Sort TV Channels According to Language


Hotel info channels, which in the language of the guest regardless of the TV Channel language
sorting will always display on top of the TV Channel list.
If guest changes TV language on Language Setting menu on TV, then TV Channel list will be re-
created according to the selected language.

Minimum requirements: NevoTV 7.5.20.91, NevoTM_GAC_NGNevoTV 7.5.20.20, NEVOTV AGENT


7.5.20.12

7.12.1 To sort TV Channels according to language


1) Login to Admin. Tools console, Click
Unit>Property Configuration.
2) Browse to NevoTV section, enable language
sorting by ticking checkbox of Sort Trees
According To Language.
3) Click Update.

4) Login to Content Manager console. Click


Parameters>TV Channels.
5) Tick checkbox of Exclude From Sorting and
Language parameters.
Note: If you do not set Language value,
channel will always be displayed on
guest’s TV channel list regardless of
guest’s language.
For example lets’s assume you have
defined Channel A with languages
English, Russian and German (for each
language you must define channels)
and ticked checkbox of Exclude From
Sorting. Also Channel B is defined without
any language and Exclude From Sorting
checkbox is ticked. When Turkish guest
checks in, only Channel B will be
displayed on top of TV Channel list. Also
when Russian guest checks in, both
Channel A and Channel B will be
displayed on top of TV Channel list.
6) Click Update.

7.13 Analog TV Support


Minimum requirements: NevoTM_Database : 7.5.20.77, NevoTV : 7.5.20.93, NevoTV Management :
7.5.20.31

PFA 'ChannelMapParser.zip' contains a parser that parse channel map and generate text file
containing parameters that can be used to tune channel using channel tuning apis.
'SetChannelHotel' is an api available to directly tune to a particular channel, passing channel
parameters in the api arguments.

1) Scan any TV with all the channels.


2) Take TV clone to usb.
3) Now you have the whole channel map that has channel parameters.
4) Now follow channel map parser guide attached inside the zip, to parse the channel map and
generate the file containing channel parameters.
5) After creating Analog variables login to Content Manager, click Parameters>Channel Upload.
6) Select Device Type as Other.

7) Click Choose File and select AnalogTV channel file.


8) Click Upload.

7.14 Wakeup Play Type


1) Login to Admin. Tools Console, Click Unit->Property Configuration.
2) Click pen icon next to the Hotel.
3) Browse to NevoTV Section, Click drop down menu of Wakeup Play Choice and select wakeup
play type.
4) Click Update.

7.15 To activate View Bill and quick check out in menu for no PMS
Billing Access support
To set appearance of View Bill and Quick check out menu on TV display, Bill Access value in
T_GLB_UnitAccessRights table is used.

To override this feature, and display view bill and quick checkout without referring to

3) Browse to NevoTV Section; Tick the Check Access Rights for Bill and QuickCheckOut Menus
checkbox.
4) After you have completed all your changes/updates for the Hotel, click Insert/Update.

7.16 To enable Date and Time column for View Bill page
View Bill page includes Date and Time option, if it is wanted to be presented to the guest
checkbox should be ticked, if not, it should be unticked.

1) Login to Admin. Tools Console, Click Unit->Property Configuration.


2) Click pen icon next to the Hotel.
3) Browse to NevoTV Section; tick the Show Date Column While Viewing Bill checkbox.
4) Click Update.

7.17 To enable offline channel


If this feature is enabled, TV channels can still be watched offline when the server is down, or IIS
cannot be reached or a DB process is in progress. Offline channel content should be loaded in the
STBs.
1) Login to Admin. Tools Console, Click Unit->Property Configuration.
2) Click pen icon next to the Hotel.
3) Browse to NevoTV Section; Make sure Enable Offline Channel checkbox is in ticked mode.
4) Click Update.

7.18 To add Twitter


Twitter, online social networking service and microblogging service that enables its users to send
and read text-based posts of up to 140 characters, known as "tweets" can be displayed on TV. User
can see the latest 10 twitter feeds.
A valid twitter acount should be set up.
All words should be seperated with spaces.
Words that are longer than 26 characters should be seperated with a hyphen
“-“ punctuation mark.

Minimum requirement: AdministrativeTools 7.5.20.17

7.18.1 To add twitter application


1) Start your browser and enter https://apps.twitter.com/ into address field.
2) Sign in with your twitter account.
3) Application Management window appears. Click Create New App.

4) Enter required fields, click Create your Twitter application.

16) Parameters list appears. Click Images link of Twitter.
17) Click Add new record. Select Device Type as STB.
18) Select Device Model as Enseo. Click Browse and select Twitter image.
19) (You can use the Enseo_twitter.png image under Design Red folder.)
20) Click Insert to upload the picture.
21) Then, Twitter should be assigned to Schema Tree of Menu.

7.18.2 To add Twitter to Schema Tree


1) Click Tree->Schema->Menu.
2) Master Tree is seen on the left, and Schema Tree is seen on the right.
3) (Click + icon to expand and see content of a tree)
4) On the left, click on Twitter under Menu of Master Tree, see it is highlighted. Drag selected
Twitter towards right and see Menu under Schema tree section is highlighted, then drop Twitter
on Menu.
5) Click Save Tree to save Schema Tree.
Note: Tree Name for Schema Tree cannot be edited.

7.18.3 To add Twitter to User Tree


1. Click Tree->Menu.
2. Schema Tree and User Tree appears.
3. Click on Twitter under Schema Tree, see it is highlighted. Drag it towards right and highlight
folder item under User Tree then drop it.
4. Click Save Tree to save User Tree.
5. Finally, NevoTM_TweetIndicator.exe must be scheduled to run in a suitable period of time.

8 Firmware Upgrade
Firmware can be updated as required just for Enseo type STBs. For Amino STB’s firmware upgrade is
accomplished manually.
Note: Following fields should be defined in advance in Property Configuration:EnseoFTPServerIP,
EnseoFTPServerPort, EnseoFTPFirmwareFilePath, EnseoFTPUsername, EnseoFTPPassword,
EnseoFirmwareTransferProtocol

8.1 To Upgrade firmware


1) Click Devices->Firmware Upgrade.

2) Click the Device checkbox that you want to apply firmware upgrade. Click Update.
Updated successfully message appears.

10.1 Assigning Basic Images


Let’s take Company logo entry for Enseo as an example.
1) Click UI Management->UI Management.
2) Default images list appears.
3) Click pen icon to edit. Browse image and upload.
4) Click Update.

IMPORTANT!!!
All Attribute Name fields are case sensitive.

11 Parameters
For all Parameters, categories can be created and subitems are added under those categories in
a Tree hierarchy. Tree management will be described below.

12 Tree Management
All parameters should be created, then assigned in tree management. Tree Management is same
for all parameters There are three types of Tree; Master Tree, Schema Tree and User Tree.
 Master Tree is created automatically by the system when Parameters are defined.
 Schema Tree is created as a template according to customer requirements.
 User Tree can be created easily by using Schema Tree.

12.1 Schema Tree


Schema tree is created from Master Tree and used as a basic template.
As an example, let’s create TV Channels Schema Tree.
1) Click Tree->Schema->TV Channels.
2) Master Tree is seen on the left, and Schema Tree is seen on the right.
3) (Click + icon to expand and see content of a tree)
On the left, click on a channel under TV Channels of Master Tree, see it is highlighted. Drag
selected channel towards right and see TV Channel under Schema tree section is highlighted,
then drop TV Channel (e.g. BBC Europe) on TV Channels. Add as required. Click Save Tree to
save Schema Tree.
Note: Tree Name for Schema Tree cannot be edited.

12.2 User Tree


As an example, let’s create TV Channels User Tree.
1) Click Tree->TV Channels.
2) Schema Tree and User Tree appears.

3) Click on an item under Schema Tree, see it is highlighted. Drag selected item towards right and
highlight folder item under User Tree then drop it.
4) Enter a unique name for the User Tree. Click Save Tree to save User Tree.
5) User Tree will be listed.
6) If there is more than one hotel, click drop-down list to select the hotel and click Assign to Hotel
to assign selected tree.
7) For the case of assigning special TV Channels to special rooms, such as when Parental
Guidance is required, if a certain TV Channel Tree will be used, select the Tree, see it is
highlighted, and then select Hotel. Select Room Numbers, Click Assign to Room(s).
8) Click the User Tree you want to set as default, see it is highlighted. Click Set as Default.
9) Tree is assigned as default tree message appears. Click OK.
NOTE: Clear Cache- enables to clear Cache and apply changes immediately when required.

13 Multi Language Editing


13.1 Language Editing (for Enseo and Samsung models)
1) Login to Admin Tools console, click, Tools->Supported Languages. An example is shown below.

13.2 Multilanguage manual editing for menu items via Parameters


1) In Content manager console, click Parameters.
2) Click pen (Edit) icon next to the parameter item you want to translate, Update buttons
become visible of Name and description of the parameter. Click Update next to Name or
Description.

3) MultiLanguage Text Editing page appears. Enter required data. Click Update Fields.

4) Updated successfully message appears. Close the window. Click Update to complete
procedure.

13.3 Multilanguage editing via Administrative Tools


This is used to change the label for any
system wording on the pages. You can
also apply Multilanguage editing via
Administrative Tools console.
1. Login to Administrative Tools
console. Click Tools-
>Multilanguage.
Click Edit next to the item you want to
edit.

Menu Bar Items of NevoTV are displayed as small icons at the bottom of TV Display and enable to
access menu easily by navigating on with Remote Controller.

4) Click drop-down menu and select Device Type as STB.
5) Click drop-down menu and select Device Model (Enseo, Amino,etc.)
6) Enter a Title if required.
7) Click Browse to select menu item image.
8) Click Insert.
9) Image has been saved successfully message appears. Click OK.
10) New added menu item image and details will appear.

3) Menu item images can be added from CONTENT MANAGER console, click
Parameters->Menu: Click on images label and a popup screen will appear

14.2 To assign specific user menus to Specific Rooms (for Enseo)


You can assign specific user menus (such as a menu with DVD or menu with order feature) as
required to specific rooms.
1) Click Tree->Menu and access to Menu Tree List.
2) Click on the Tree that includes specific menu, see it is highlighted.
3) In Assign to Device section click drop down menu and select Hotel name.
4) Click drop down menu of Select Room to select room.
5) Tick checkboxes of the locations that will see specific menu selected. Click Assign to Device(s).

6) Tree is assigned to devices message appears. Click OK.

14.3 To unassign specific menu from Specific Rooms (for Enseo)


Unassigning specific menu means assigning default tree for specific rooms.
1) Click Tree->Menu and access to Menu Tree List.
2) Click on the default Menu User Tree, see it is highlighted.
3) Right-click on Hotel Name.
4) Click drop down menu and select room.
5) Tick checkboxes of the locations that will be cancelled from specific menu. Click Assign to
Device(s).
6) Tree is assigned to devices message appears. Click OK.

14.4 To assign weather and messages menu to colored keys on


Nevotek remote control (For Enseo)
1) Login to CONTENT MANAGER console, Click RemoteManagement->IR Control.
2) You will see a list of key functions such as news,radio,weather. Copy function of key (i.r:
KEY_WEATHER) to related colored key (i.e: KEY_RED)
Note: If you can not find the function of key there, contact Development team.

15 Guide
You can create Hotel Guide or City Guide and add subitems. Guide can be created as category
or physical item. Physical item is subitem of a category. Guide categories and items become
visible after adding to the Guide tree.

A display example for a Hotel Guide is shown below.

15.1 To create Guide Category


1) Click Parameters->Guide. Guide Parameters list window appears.
2) Click Add new record.
3) Guide Parameters window appears. Type name of Guide (e.g. Barcelona Hotel) into Name
field.
4) Type a short description about the hotel into Description field.
5) Tick Category checkbox next to Node Type. Click Insert.
6) Operation completed successfully message appears. Click OK.
7) New added category appears in the Guide Parameters list.

15.1.1 To create subitem for a Guide category


1) Click Parameters->Guide. Guide Parameters list window appears. Click Add new record.
2) Guide Parameters window appears. Type name of Category (e.g. Barcelona Hotel
Restaurants).
3) Type a short description about the subitem into Description field.
4) DO NOT tick Category checkbox next to Node Type. Click Insert.
5) Added guide item will be listed and Node Type will be displayed as Physical.
6) Click Images to add an image for the guide.
7) A Pop-up window appears. Click Add new record.
8) Select Device Type as STB.
9) Select Device Model.
10) Click Browse to select the image. Click OK.
11) Image has been saved successfully message appears. Click OK.
12) Image appears as shown in the example below. Close the window.

13) Reset IIS.

15.1.2 To create Guide Schema Tree


Schema Tree enables to list a template for category/subitems of a guide.
1) Click Tree->Schema->Guide.
2) Guide Schema page appears. Master Tree appears on the left and Schema Tree appears on
the right.
3) Highlight the guide item you created, drag and drop on to Guide under Schema Tree.
4) Hotel Guide item appears under Schema Tree. If there is also a subitem, drag and drop it
under Guide also. Click Save Tree.

5) Guide Schema Tree is saved and listed under Tree Management page.

15.1.3 To create Guide User Tree


User Tree enables dragging and dropping to assign necessary items from Schema Tree.
1) Click Tree->Guide.
2) Guide Tree page appears. Click Add new record.
3) Schema Tree appears on the left and User Tree appears on the right.
4) Highlight the item you want to add to user tree as shown in the example below. Drag and drop
onto the Guide under User Tree. Drag and drop as required. You can arrange hierarchy here.
5) Enter a name for your User Tree Name into Tree Name field.
6) Click Save Tree.
7) Added user tree appears in the Guide Tree list.
8) Click on and highlight the new added User Tree. Click Set as Default.
9) Click drop down box on the bottom right to select Hotel.
10) Click Assign to Hotel.

15.2 To create new Menu bar parameter for Guide


Guide enables you to include items in a categorized manner so that they can be displayed on TV.
Guide Trees should be prepared in advance.
1) Click Parameters->Menu. Menu Items Parameters window appears.
2) Click Add new record.
3) Enter name of the guide menu parameter (e.g. Barcelona Hotel Guide).
4) Enter guide into Item Url field.
5) Select Tree GUID (e.g. Hotel Guide)

6) Click Insert.
7) Operation completed successfully message appears. Click OK
8) New menu parameter appears in the list. Click Images.
9) Pop-up window appears. Click Add new record.
10) Select Device Type as STB.
11) Select Device Model.
12) Click Browse to select the image. Click Open.
13) Click Insert.
14) Image has been saved successfully message appears. Click OK.
15) Image appears as shown in the example below. Close the window.

Reset IIS.

15.3 Promotion
Here you can assign an image that can be used for advertisement and present your promotions as
Full Screen page on TV display.

1) Click Parameters->Guide.
2) Click Add new record.
3) Enter a name for your Promotion item. (e.g. Promotion1).

6) New added Promotion item appears in the Guide Parameters list. Click on the Promotions item
and see it is highlighted. Click Images as shown below.

7) A pop up window appears. Click Add new record.

8) Click drop-down menu and select your Device Type as (Amino or Enseo).
9) Enter a Title. (e.g. Karaoke Night).
10) Tick checkbox of Full Screen. If you do not tick this checkbox, promotion item will not be
displayed.
11) Click Insert.

16 RSS
Enables to publish updated news headlines frequently. Create Category for RSS, add subitems and
manage in Tree hierarchy. See Tree Management.

16.1 To create RSS parameter


1) Click Parameters->RSS.
2) RSS list window appears. Click Add new record if you wish to add a new RSS.
3) Enter name of RSS into Name field.
4) Type URL of RSS into Item URL field.

5) Click Insert.
6) Operation completed successfully message appears. Click OK.
7) Added RSS will appear in the RSS Parameters list
8) See 12Tree Management to assign RSS feeds to RSS Tree.

17 Radio
You can add streaming URLs for radio channels. Radio will be used only with Welcome screen. First
Radio parameter is created, then Radio Schema Tree is created, Radio parameter is added to
Schema Tree, then User Tree is created and Radio Parameter is added to the User Tree. Radio
categories and items become visible after adding to the Radio tree.

17.1 To create Radio Category


1) Click Parameters->Radio. Click Add New record.
2) Type name of Radio Category. (e.g. Hard Rock Radio)
3) Type description if required.
4) Tick checkbox of Node Type as Category.
5) Click Insert.
6) See 12Tree Management to create and assign Radio Category to the tree.

17.2 To create Radio channel


1) Click Parameters->Radio. Click Add New record.
2) Type name of radio channel.
3) Type URL of the radio channel.
(e.g. 239.5.5.40:1234).
4) Type description.
5) Click Insert.
6) See 12Tree Management to assign Radio channel to the Radio tree.

17.3 To create Internet Radio


First Radio item is created for radio list, then a menu icon is assigned for this parameter to enable
access via TV menu, then it is added to Schema tree, then User tree.

17.3.1 To add an Internet Radio Item


1) Click ParametersRadio.
2) Radio Parameters window appears. Click Add new record.
3) Enter a name for the Radio into Name field. (e.g JOY Turk int. Radio)
4) Enter URL of the radio into Item URL field as http://...:....
(e.g. http://joyturk.radyolarburada.com:8900)
5) Tick checkbox of Internet radio to assign radio as Internet radio.
6) Click Insert.
7) Saved radio appears in the list on Radio Parameters window.

5) Select TreeGUID as TVRADIOTREE.

6) Click Insert/Update.
7) Saved radio appears in the list on Menu Items parameters window.

17.3.3 To assign menu item icon for Internet radio


1) Click ParametersMenu.
2) Menu Items parameters window appers. Click Images link of the radio.
3) A Pop-up window appears. Click Add new record.
4) Select Device Type as STB.
5) Select Device Model as Enseo or Amino.
6) Click Browse and select the image that will be used for radio menu item.
7) (Width:66 px, Height:70px format:SWF)
8) Click Insert.
9) Saved radio menu item icon appears in the pop-up window.

towards Radio under Schema Tree section, see it is highlighted then drop.
5) Internet radio appears under radio. Add as required.

6) Click Save Tree to save radio Schema Tree.


Note: Tree Name for Schema Tree cannot be edited.
7) Continue with to create Radio Menu User Tree.

17.3.5 To create a Radio User Tree


Note: For Nemo and Nevo TV you can create separate categories. Categories should be assigned
via Menu and Nemo menu.

1) Click TreeRadio.
2) Radio Tree window appears. Click Add new record to create a Radio User Tree.
3) Radio Schema window appears. Schema Tree is seen on the left, and User Tree is seen on the
right.
4) Click on a channel under Radio of Schema Tree, see it is highlighted. Drag selected channel
towards Radio under User Tree section, see it is highlighted then drop.
5) Radio item appears below Radio which is under User Tree. Add channels as required.
6) Enter a unique name for the Radio User Tree. Click Save Tree to save User Tree.

18 Movies
Here you can define movies, create categories for Movies, create Basket and add subitems, add
video URLS for Video on Demand feature. Movie categories and items become visible after
adding to the Movie Schema and User Trees. See Tree Management for details.

18.1 To assign new Movie Page design


You can add a new design for Movies Page with this feature. (For old design movies url is used.)
Minimum requirements:

 NGMobileComfort_GAC 7.5.20.27,
 NevoTV-7.5.20.200
1) Login to Content Manager Console. Click Parameters>Menu.
2) Click pen icon to edit MOVIES parameter.
3) Enter movienew into Item Url field.

4) Click Update.
Note: If you want to assignold design for Movies, Item Url should be saved as movies. One of
the designs should be used.

18.2 To create a Movie Category


1) Login to CONTENT MANAGER. Click Parameters->Movies.
2) Click Add New record.
3) Enter Movie category name into name field as shown in the example below. (e.g. Action,

4) Click drop-down list of Node Type and select as Category.
5) Click Insert.
6) Added Movie Category (e.g. Action) will be listed.
7) See 12Tree Management to create and assign Movie category to the tree.

18.3 To create a Movie item


1) Login to CONTENT MANAGER. Click Parameters->Movies. Click Add New record.
2) Type required data.
3) Type Item URL in the format:
4) rtsp://VideoServerIP/Videofolder/Filename.ts
example: rtsp://172.10.10.2/local/Avatar_Theme_remux.ts
5) Note: You can find Item URLs in Toucan Server.
6) Select Node Type as Movie.
7) Click Browse to select movie image.
8) Click Insert.
9) New added movie will be listed.
10) See 12Tree Management to assign movie item to the Movie Schema and User Trees.

18.4 Movie Tree Date Filter for Quick Operation


This feature enables to filter for quick operation when there are many movie items.

Minimum requirements: NevoTM_Database 7.5.20.170, NevoTV Management 7.5.20.65

1) Login to CONTENT MANAGER. Click Tree > Schema > Movies.


2) By default movies which were added in the last month are listed. As all movies are not listed
procedure will be faster.

You can enter a number for month or days, for example if you enter 3 and click Select, the
movies added in the last 3 months wiil be listed.
If you select All, all movies will be listed.

18.5 Trailer (Channel Preview) Setting


Video On Demand Detail Pages can include preview of the movie if set in Content Manager.

3) Tick checkbox of Free Movie Access.
4) Click Update.

18.8 VOD Automation


This feature is used to import movies to the NG automatically. (Enseo-Amino)
Nevotek VOD Automation Service checks (VODProcessFrequency) the ftp side if there is any new
movie content, periodically. If there is any new movie the service updates movie shema and user
tree with new information. If movie license date is not started yet the movie is not imported. If
movie license date is expired, the movie and its trailer will be deleted automatically from VOD
server. If new category is created for the movies,an alert email is sent to related users

19 Basket
Basket (named sometimes as Bouquet) enables to assign special price for more than one movie
purchase. Add subitems to manage in Tree hierarchy. Basket and its items become visible after
adding to the Movie tree. See Tree Management.

19.1 To define a Basket


1) Click Parameters->Movies.
2) Click Add New record.
3) Type a unique name for basket (e.g. Entertainment Basket).
4) Select Node Type as Basket.
5) Type Price of basket. Note: For Pricing, access Administrative Tools console
6) http://NevoTVServerIPAddress/administrativetools/HotelProperties.aspx

20 Products
Products enable to define items and assign special price for products that will be sold by the Hotel.
For example: Beverage, Yoghurt, etc. You can create Category and Basket for the products also.
Add subitems to manage in Tree hierarchy. Product categories and items become visible after
adding to the Products tree. See Tree Management.

20.1 To create a Product Category


1) Click Parameters->Products. Click Add New record to add a Product category.
2) Enter Product category name into name field as shown in the example below. (e.g. Food,
Beverage, Textile,etc.)

3) Enter required data such as Description as required.


4) Enter price as 0.
5) Enter ItemCode defined by the Hotel.
6) Click TypeName drop-down box to select as Category. (Destination-PMS appears.).
7) Click Insert. Added category appears.
8) See 12Tree Management to assign Product category to the Product tree.

21 Banners
You can assign an information or advertisement text to be displayed on TV’s at given time within a
time interval.

21.1 To add a banner text


1) In CONTENT MANAGER console, click Banner Management->Banners.
2) Banner page appears. Click Add new record.
3) Select Banner Type as Text.
4) Select Banner Interaction Type as No Interaction. No Interaction option prevents users until
banner display duration is completed.
5) Enter name of the banner into Name field. (e.g. Opening ceremony)
6) Enter a short description if required.
7) Enter duration in milliseconds, (e.g. 20000)
8) Enter required text into Banner Text field.
(e.g. Opening ceremony will start at 10:30 at the lobby hall).
9) Click Insert.
10) New added Banner will be displayed in the list.
11) You can schedule the banner text as described in 21.3To schedule Banner

21.2 To assign Unit Group/Rooms for Banner


A unit group should be defined to assign banners.You can assign banner to the certain rooms you
select or assign banner to all the rooms.

1) Login to Admin. Tools Console, click Unit->Unit Groups.


2) Click New Group.
3) Enter a Unit Group Name (e.g. Banner)for the Unit Group to be assigned for banner.
4) Enter group description.
5) Select Hotel.
6) Select Unit Group Type as Banner.
7) Click on the room in available Rooms field, or Shift-click to add more than one room, click left
arrow button to move to Assigned Rooms field.

8) Click Save

21.3 To schedule Banner


1) In CONTENT MANAGER console, click Banner Management->Banners.
2) Banners will be listed. Click Schedule at the right of the Banner.
3) Select Banner Queue Type according to following options:

 Add as First: If there are two banners, banner
scheduled as “Add as First” will be played first.
 Override: If a new banner is scheduled as “Override”

 Play After Current: New scheduled banner will be
displayed after current banner.
 Append: Same as “Override”. Mostly used if only one

5) Select Unit Group.
6) Select period of banner as daily, weekly,monthly or once.
7) Banner Schedule (Once): if you schedule a banner once, it will play on TV once and stop.
8) Click clock icon and set time.
9) Enter a number to schedule banner number of defined day times.
e.g. if you enter 3 it will be repeated for 3 days.
10) Click Save Task.

22 Fire Alarm (for Enseo)


A Unit group for Fire Alarm should be defined in advance. UnitGroupName can be only integers.
There should not be any Fire Alarm Unit Group in the database whose group name is not integer.
Fire Alarm log can be observed under following path:

which is equal to floor number), this parameter controls the how many down and up floors will
be alerted by the alarm.

1 If it’s set to “1” and Fire Zone is “2”, rooms which are located on 1st Floor and 3rd
(Default) Floor will also be alerted besides 2d Floor.
If it’s set to “2” and Fire Zone is “2”, rooms which are located on 1st Floor and 3rd and

22.2 Global Fire Alarm (for Enseo)


Global Fire Alarm, enables you to send same image to a number of Unit Groups or you can create
only one group that includes all rooms. A specific image about Fire Alarm will be displayed on all
TVs when fire alarm start command is sent via Banner Management.
You can create only one group or Unit groups in advance for Room Based Fire Alarms. It is
recommended to group rooms according to floors and create Unit Groups accordingly.
Admin Tools Settings
1) In Admin.Tools console, Click Unit->Unit Groups.
2) Click New Group.
3) Enter a Group Name (IMPORTANT!!!!--This field must be numerical) (e.g. 155)
4) Enter Unit Group Description (e.g. Fire Alarm for rooms on first floor)
5) Select Hotel, room numbers will appear.
6) Select Unit Group Type as Fire Alarm.
7) Click on required rooms in Avaliable rooms field, click left arrow > button, rooms will move into
Assigned Rooms field. An example is shown below.

8) Click Save.
9) Group Fire Alarm is added successfully message appears. Unit Group is added.
Fire Alarm Parameter settings

23 Wakeup
You can set single or multiple wakeups to a guest or group of guests.
In advance, access to AdministrativeTools console, click Unit->HotelProperties, Select Wakeup
Alarm Type.

23.1 To set single wakeup


1) Login to Admin. Tools Console (http://ServerIP/administrativetools), click Tools-
>WakeupMonitoring.
2) Wakeup Monitor window appears.
3) Click Set/Delete WakeUp at top of page.
4) Click drop-down menu of Properties and select your Hotel.
5) Rooms field appears and available rooms are shown.
6) Click on the room of the guest that wakeup feature will be applied.
7) Guests radio button is default.Do not change.
8) Click on Calendar icon to set date and click on clock icon to set time.
9) In Wakeup Type section Single radio button is default. Do not change.
10) Click Set Wakeup.

23.2 To set multiple wakeup


1) Login to Admin. Tools Console, click Tools->WakeupMonitoring.
1) Wakeup Monitor window appears.
2) Click Set/Delete WakeUp at top of page.
3) Click drop-down menu of Properties and select your Hotel.
4) Rooms field appears and available rooms are shown.
5) Click on the room of the guest that wakeup feature will be applied.
6) Click on Calendar icon to set date and click on clock icon to set time.
7) In Wakeup Type section tick radio button of Multiple, click number of wakeups to be applied.
8) Click Set Wakeup.

23.3 To set PMS/Unit/User group wakeup


1) Login to Admin. Tools Console, Click Tools->WakeupMonitoring.
1) Wakeup Monitor window appears.
2) Click Set/Delete WakeUp at top of page.
3) If you know PMS code of the group, click PMS codes radio button, then select the group.
4) Tick radio button of Unit, PMS Codes or User Group as requested.
5) Select the group from drop-down menu.
6) Click on Calendar icon to set date and click on clock icon to set time.
7) In Wakeup Type section tick radio button of Single or Multiple, (for Multiple click number of
wakeups to be applied).
8) Click Set Wakeup.

24 Order
Order feature enables guests to order menus with special orders and extra orders. Users can
receive reports about their orders via print or e-mail. First, category is created, then products are
created, then their trees are created and category and products are assigned. We will explain
Continental Breakfast as an example.

24.1 To create Order Category


Category enables to group products (e.g. Continental Breakfast, Dinner, etc.)
Image cannot be added to Order Category. Image can only be added to order items.
1) Click Parameters->Products.
2) Product list appears. Click Add new record.
3) Enter a name into Item name field (e.g. Continental Breakfast).
4) Enter an item code into Item Code field.
5) Click drop-down menu and select Language.
6) Click drop-down menu and select Type Name as Category.
7) Show Date Screen checkbox and Hour period appears.
8) Tick checkbox of Show Date Screen to assign appearance duration of the Category. Note:
Press Shift key to select more than one time interval, or Ctrl key to select one by one.
9) Click Insert.

10) Category appears in the list. See Tree Management section to assign Order Category to the
Products tree.

24.2 Order Item


Order Item enables to specify certain products that can be ordered: e.g. hamburger, etc.

24.2.1 To create Order item


1) Click Parameters->Products.
2) Product list appears. Click Add new record.
3) Enter a name into Item name field (e.g. Hamburger).
4) Enter a description if required.
5) Enter an item code into Item Code field.
6) Click drop-down menu and select Language.
7) Click drop-down menu and select Type Name as Product.
8) Click Insert.
9) Product appears in the list. See Tree Management section to Special order item to the
Products tree.
 You can add a note field if required. (e.g. for tax explanation etc.)
 Note Field is available to only physical nodes.

24.3 To add an image to Order item


1) Click Parameters->Products.
2) Click Images link of the product.
3) A pop-up window appears.
4) Click Add new record.
5) Select Device Type as STB.
6) Select Device Model (Enseo or Amino).
7) Click browse and add image for Enseo: 200X160 px JPG format, for Amino: 130 X100 px.
8) Click Insert.
9) Click Set as Default.

24.4 Special Order


Special Order enables to specify certain request such as white bread, rye bread, mixed grain
bread, etc. Special order does not affect the price.

24.4.1 To create Special Order


1) Click Parameters->Products.
2) Product list appears. Click Add new record.
3) Enter a name into Item name field (e.g. White
Bread).
4) Enter a description (e.g. made from wheat flour)
5) Enter an item code into Item Code field.
6) Click drop-down menu and select Language.
7) Tick default checkbox, if this option will be given as
default.
8) Click drop-down menu and select Type Name as
Special Order.
9) Click Insert.
10) Special order appears in the list. See Tree Management section to Special order item to the
Products tree.

24.5 Extra Order


Extra Order enables to specify extra requests for a menu, such as extra pan cake, steak, egg,
drinks, etc. Extra order price should be defined.

24.5.1 To create Extra order


1) Click Parameters->Products.
2) Product list appears. Click Add new
record.
3) Enter a name into Item name field (e.g.
Pancake).
4) Enter an item code into Item Code field.
5) Click drop-down menu and select
Language.
6) Tick default checkbox, if this option will be
given as default.
7) Click drop-down menu and select Type
Name as Special Order.
8) Click Insert.
9) Order extra item appears in the list. See Tree Management section to assign Extra order item to
the Products tree.

24.5.2 To assign extras or specials for an order


After creating product, extra order and special order items as described above, extra order and
special order items should be assigned to the related product. (e.g. Ketchup to Hamburger or
Mushroom, Corn to Pizza, Pancake to Breakfast etc.)

1) Click Parameters->Products.
2) Product list appears. Click pen icon next to the Product you want to edit (e.g. Pizza).
3) In Extra field, click Extra or Or Special Order items to assign.
Note: Press Shift key to select more than one option, or Ctrl key to select one by one. An
example is shown below.

4) Click Update.

24.5.3 To cancel assigned extras to an order item


1) Click Parameters->Products.
2) Product list appears. Click pen icon next to the Product you want to edit (e.g. Pizza).
3) In Extra field, Press Shift key to deselect more than one option, or Ctrl key to deselect one by
one or to cancell all extras click Unselect All.
4) Click Update.

24.6 Product Basket


Basket (named sometimes as Bouquet) enables to assign special price for more than one product
purchase.

24.6.1 To create Product basket

1) Click Parameters->Products.
2) Product list appears. Click Add new
record.
3) Enter a name into Item name field (e.g.
Discount Basket).
4) Enter an item code into Item Code field.
5) Click drop-down menu and select
Language.
6) Click drop-down menu and select Type
Name as Basket.
7) Click Insert.
8) Basket appears in the list. See Tree
Management section to assign Basket to the Products tree.

24.7 To assign Product Category to Product Schema Tree


1) Click Tree->Schema->Products.
2) Tree operation window appears. Master Tree appears on the left and Schema Tree appears on
the right.

3) Click on a Category and see it is highlighted, drag and drop on to Products under Schema

2) Click Add new record.
3) Schema Tree appears on the left and User Tree appears on the right.
4) Click on the order item, see it is highlighted, drag and drop onto Products, see Products is
highlighted, then drop. Order item appears under Products. Add as required.
5) Enter a Tree name into Tree Name field (e.g. Hotel Alpha Products).
6) Click Save Tree.
Products User Tree appears in the list. Click on Tree and see it is highlighted,click drop-down
menu and select hotel(e.g. HA). Click Assign to Hotel.

7) Tree is assigned to hotel rooms and users message appears. Click Set as Default.

24.9 To create Product/Order Menu item


In order to enable Order items to appear, you must create a TV display menu item.
1) Click Parameters->Menu.
2) Click Add new record.
3) Enter a name for the menu item into Name field (e.g. Breakfast).
4) Enter order into Item URL field.

5) In Tree GUID field, select Product Category that will be assigned (e.g. Continental Breakfast).

7) Click Insert.
8) Operation completed successfully message appears.

Last step for an order menu item to appear on TV display is to assign it to the Menu Item Schema

3) Master Tree appears on the left and Schema Tree appears on the right.
4) Click on the order menu item, see it is highlighted, drag and drop onto Menu, see Menu is
highlighted, then drop. Menu item appears under Menu. (e.g. Breakfast)
5) Click Save Tree.

24.11 To add Order menu item to the Menu Item User Tree
1) Click Tree->Menu.
2) Click pen icon next to the Main Tree.

25 Order Service Report


You can enable order service reports to be sent via print or e-mail or both.
An example report is shown below. Report is sent to email in PDF format.

25.1 To assign Order Service default printer


You can define the printer where order reports will be printed.
1) Login to Admin. Tools Console, click Tools->Parameter Maintenance.
2) In Filter by Module, select XML Services, click Filter.
3) Browse to Printer Name, and click pen icon to edit. Enter printer name. (e.g. HP;Laser;Lexmark)
4) Enter description (e.g. Printer name for order service)
5) Click Update.

25.2 To define Order Service e-mail


Enables to assign e-mail address (es) that will receive order reports
1) Login to Admin. Tools Console, click Tools->Parameter Maintenance.

3) Browse to EmailAddress, and click pen icon to edit. Enter e-mail address (es) that will receive
order reports. (e.g. sonerp@nevotek.com)

25.3 To assign Email Server IP address


Enables to set e-mail server IP address for order report e-mail delivery.

Note: In order to receive data, you should register via https://developer.flightstats.com/ and define
the ID and Key that the system produces for you. Otherwise data will not be generated. With free

26.4 To add an Airport


There are more than 1000 airports in the database. If you cannot find the airport you wish to see,
follow this procedure to add the airport.
1) Login to Admin. Tools console, click Unit-> Unit

 By pressing Channel + or Channel – from the remote control,

8) Audio language is automatically set to default language which is the first selection of the audio
language popup box.
 If stream does not support multi language, language selection popup box will not be
appeared on the screen.
 After language selection is made, if user wants to change audio language again, by
pressing yellow button from the remote control language selection popup box can be
activated.

28 Close captioning (Enseo only)


Closed captioning and subtitling are both processes of displaying text on television, video screen
or other visual display to provide additional or interpretive information. Closed captions typically
show atranscription of the audio portion of a program as it occurs, sometimes including non-
speech elements.
Which modules should be updated/installed ?

NevoTV 7.5.17.0 and NevoTM_Database 7.5.17.0 are the minimum required versions in order to
make this feature work.

You can use one menu item for each TV source or seperate each tv source(HDMI) as menu items.
Minimum NevoTV 7.5.14.8 is required.

32.1 To create one menu item; TV Source for all HDMI Sources:
User selects TV Source menu on NevoTV, then by pressing OK button HDMIs can be changed.
If user wants to go back to NevoTV menu, “OK” button must be pressed.
1) Login to Content Manager console. Click Parameters->Menu.
2) Click Add new record.
3) Enter a name into Name field (e.g. TVSource)
4) Enter tvsource into Item URL field.
5) Click Insert.

32.2 To create seperate menu items for HDMI Sources (Game Console, DVD

User selects HDMI menu items on NevoTV and source will be changed. If any HDMI sources are

This feature is used by hotel maid personnel to update room status via phone/TV. After changing
room status, a formatted message is sent to PMS

NevoTV, NevoTM, KernelManager, NevoTVManagement(Content Manager), AdministrativeTools


and XML Service are the minimum required setup in order to make this feature work.

35.1 To add Room Status Service URL


1) Login to ContentManager console. Click Parameters->Service URL.
2) Click Add new record. Add Room Status URL as:

3) If it does not exist; click Tree->Schema->ServiceURL, add Room Status to tree.

2) Click Add new record. Create a Staff user. Do not forget to type a Pincode.

 Description: Description of room status code
 PMSRoomStatus: The code which is sent to PMS
 Status Code: If this value is typed, this code is sent to PMS instead of PMSRoomStatus
 Enable: check this parameter if you want to see status code in the room status list on TV or

 Visible: “ALL” seen by everyone, “Staff” only seen by Staff, “Supervisor” only seen by

35.3 How To use Room Status feature


1) Enter Room Status menu: press 98765 from remote controller.
2) Type staff/supervisor pincode.
3) Select Room Status that will be sent to PMS.
4) After selecting code, RoomStatus message is to PMS with order of KernelManager>PMS1>PMS
If it is Opera, you should see this message format on PMS1 logs:
“RE|RN1102|RS1|” means RoomStatus code “1” is sent for room “1102”

INFO:
“Nevotek_NG_MI_QueueMonitor_KERNEL_MANAGER”, “NevotekTM_PMSQueueMonitor_PMS1” and

3) Enter Amenity category name (e.g. Bathroom Amenities), select Node Type as Category.
4) Click Insert.
5) Click Tree->Schema->Amenities, add Amenities Category to Schema tree.
6) Click Tree->Amenities. Click Add new record. Name the Tree.
7) Add Amenities Category to User tree and assign it to a hotel.

1) Using the Enseo remote, press SETUP.


2) Highlight Networking Options. Press OK.
3) Highlight Devices and Press OK.
4) Highlight ethernet0 and Press OK.
5) Highlight Ethernet Switch and Press OK.
6) Highlight Enable VLAN Press OK and, select YES and Press OK.
7) Enter STB VLAN ID->Network 1 input (IPTV VLAN ID) For example ‘50’ if the IPTV Vlan is 50.
Enter Guest VLAN ID->Network 2 input (Switch-Consult IT Network Admin) For example ‘110’
if the Vlan ID for that room is 110. But usually the Vlan IDs for the rooms are set on floor
switch by network people. In this case there is no need to enter Vlan ID on Guest Vlan.
8) Go back to Network Options, select APPLY.
9) Reboot

38.1 Amino Configuration
Two files are required to manage Amino STBs;
 Refresh.ntv enables to restart STBs after checkin-checkup
 Changepage.ntv provides required templates to STBs after restart.

3) In the window opened, select STBrc-KEY.private as key file, then click OPEN.

38.3 Volume Level Setting


This parameter enables to define how much the volume will be increased or decreased each time
volume up or down keys are pressed. For example if you set parameter value as 10, and you predd
volume up button on the remote controller, the volume will be increased 10 units.

1) Login to Admin. Tools Console, click Tools->Parameter Maintenance.


2) Filter by NevoTVAgent module.
3) Browse to volumelevel, click pen icon to edit volume Increasing and Decreasing Level.
4) Set as required.
5) Click Update.

38.4 Set XML Settings to multiple Set-Top-Boxes (for Enseo HD3000)


Enseo keeps features that are specific to itself in an xml file. These settings should be set via remote
control one by one for each set top box. For example, which URL wil be showed, what will be the
default volume level when the STB is powered on, etc.
By using SetSettingXML feature, these settings can be entered with one xml file, then sent and
applied to the boxes via network.

38.4.1 Prerequisites

1) In CONTENT MANAGER console, click DeviceSTB Management.

• Click Enable Guest Name to show guest name on TV.

39 Samsung TV Configuration
39.1 Samsung Device Discovery
TV must be powered on and Network configuration must be completed.TVs should get their IP
addresses.
1) Login to Content Manager Console. Click Devices->Device Discovery->Others.
2) Write down Clone Setting URL (See "Cloning TV Settings" for configuration)
 Different models of TV needs different clone settings.
 Make sure clone settings URL contains the right configuration file.
3) Fill IP Range and click Discover NevoTV Devices button.

Result can be traced from screen or detailed log can be traced from C:\Program Files
(x86)\Nevotek\NevoTM\Log\NevoTVManagement
4) NevoTV Device will be found and inserted into database as shown in the example below.

Note:
When the TV is received, in the Hotel Menu if the widget tab is not visible then the TV needs a
firmware upgrade. This can be done from the Hotel Menu via Services -> SW Update:
 Copy the firmware to the root of a USB flash drive.
 Insert USB drive while the TV is off. Turn on TV
 Access to Hotel Menu->Services->SW Update. If the TV does not recognize the USB
flash drive or does not start the firmware upgrade from the USB drive then a factory
reset should be done from the Factory Menu and the steps should be repeated.
Factory Menu Combination from the remote control: INFO + MENU + MUTE + POWER ON (while the
TV is off)
Hotel Menu Combination from the remote control: MUTE + 119 + OK (while the TV is on)
If the TV has been setup before then a factory reset is necessary before going on with the setup
procedures.
When the TV is setup for the first time (same thing is needed after a factory reset) during first turn on
of the TV it will ask for some information. Standalone Mode (Continue Setup) should be selected
and then other info such as regional settings, picture mode, network, clock etc. should be entered.
After the settings are done the Hotel Menu will be on.

2. Clone TV to USB (USB drive should be formatted FAT32)
After settings are cloned from a TV set to a USB drive, while the USB drive is attached to the new TV
the settings can be cloned to the TV with the “Clone USB to TV” option from the same menu as
above. The TV models should be the same otherwise cloning will fail.

39.5 Cloning applications (Smart Apps);


In Hotel Menu

4. Options (This will come up after the USB drive is attached to the TV set).

With the USB drive containing clone information attached to a new TV set “Clone USB to TV” from

39.6 Cloning over STB Management


On a TV set with all the settings done, clone the settings to a USB drive with the “Clone TV to USB”
option.
1) Open Internet Information Services (IIS Manager). Double-click MIME Types.

2) MIME Types window appears, click Add on the right-side.

3) Add MIME Type window appears. Enter .dat into File name Extension field.
4) Enter application/octet-stream into MIME Type field. Click OK.

5) MIME Type will be added.

6) click Add on the right-side again, enter . into File name Extension field.
7) Enter application/octet-stream into MIME Type field. Click OK.

(C:\inetpub\wwwroot\Clone).
10) In order to transfer cloned files from the server to the TV sets, create a text_file.txt file and write
all file names and the byte values in the clone directory to this file.
 All values should be correct (file names and file size should match otherwise cloning
will be failed.)
 If Clone.dat file includes strange characters, delete them.
A wrong file format (this case happens when directly copying from TV to USB) example is shown
below:

To correct this format just delete strange characters. Clone.dat must only contain plain text.

39.15 Downloading Initial.html File


1) On NevoTV Server, open initial.html file under:
C:\inetpub\wwwroot\NevoTV\Pages\Samsung
to edit the line var IPAddress = "10.1.2.65"; , enter IP address of the NevoTV server.
Example: var IPAddress = "10.1.2.65";
2) Login to Content Manager, click Devices->STB Management->Others.
3) Tick checkbox (es) of TV sets. Click Download Initial HTML. For this action to succeed the Nevo
TV application should already be running on the TV set otherwise the file will not be
downloaded to the TV set. (The result of this action will be logged under: C:\Program Files
(x86)\Nevotek\NevoTM\Log\NevoTV) .
4) On the TV sets in Hotel Menu->Widget->Default Server URL, update as
file:///mtd_down/common/HospitalityBrowser/initial.html.
5) Turn off TV and then turn on TV again.

39.16 Welcome Page (5) Setup


1) Login to Content Manager Console, click UI Management->UI Management.
2) For Services: Click Add New Record.
3) Select Hotel. In Attribute Name field enter Services.
4) The image on right side is always apparent. This attribute is not applied to other images. In
order to add a static image in Attribute Name field “ServicesStatic” is entered.
5) For Sliding Images, click Add New Record.
6) Select Hotel. In Attribute Name field enter SlidingImages.
7) For Sliding Images to be shown in an order then at the end of image names numbers should be
entered as following.
 SlidingImages1
 SlidingImages2
 SlidingImages3
 SlidingImages4
Note: If Hotel Video URL (AdministrativeTools>Unit Configuration>Hotel Video URL) field is
configured then SlidingImage will not be active.

39.16.1 Defining new Smart App to the Welcome Page


1) Login to Content Manager Console, click Parameters->MenuItems.
2) App Menu supports maximum 4 applications. In App Menu normal menu items and Apps can
be listed. When adding an App menu, in ItemURL section the App ID has to be entered. For
example for facebook the App ID is 11091000000
3) While adding a new menu or updating a present menu “Enable In App Menu” should be
checked.
4) Also for a new menu or an updated menu, an App Menu image has to be added.
5) In the Grid pressing the “Images” link button App Menu Icon can be selected.
6) The target App Menu that needs to be shown in App Menu also needs to be assigned to the
menu tree (default or assigned).

39.17 Pairing the 2013 Smart Touch Remote

39.17.1 First Time Pairing


When the remote is activated for the first time it will attempt to auto pair with your TV.
1) Press any button on the remote except POWER or PAIRING.
2) Watch lower left portion of TV screen for pairing information.
3) Wait for Pairing attempt to finish
If pairing is a success your remote is now paired with your TV and ready for use.
If pairing failed continue to Manual Paring instructions below.

39.17.2 Manual Pairing (Or Re-Pairing)


1) Remove the back of the remote and press the PAIRING button on the rear of the Smart Touch
controller.
2) Hold button down for 3 seconds.
3) Release button and hold remote within 1 foot of the TV.
4) Watch lower left portion of TV screen for pairing information.
If pairing is successful your remote will be paired with your TV and ready for use.

39.18 To collect log data


To enable debugging:
1) Power Off TV.
2) (key press 'info + menu + mute + power button'). // now it will not turn off the TV.
3) TV will power up in factory menu. (it is different than 'mute+119+enter')
4) Go to control
5) Sub Option
6) RS232 Jack- Change to (UART-> Debug)

It is easier to manage debug levels when TV is off


The logs do not contain enough information. Its log level is 1..

Please change log settings as follows and send Nevotek the log again.
1) Restart TV
2) Open putty and see the logs.
3) Enable key input (press 20102011 from keyboard). This will enable key input. you can now enter
any key.
4) press 20089999 and then enter
5) press 21 and then enter
6) press 2 and then enter
7) search 'WidgetEngine' option and give command and then enter
8) select ALL ON and set Log level = 5
9) press 99 to return and restart TV.

41 LG TV Settings
NevoTV Full installation must be made.

41.1 Initial Setting


1) When you turn on TV for the first time, Please Select

2) Select Pro:Centric Manual.

5) Enter the IP address of the server into Address field.
6) Enter Port number of the Server into Port field.

41.2 To enable Pro:Centric Menu

2) Installation Menu appears.
3) Move to Pro:Centric. Press OK.

5) Select Medium Type as IP.

For older versions of LG, WakeupFrame is used and for newer

appears on top.
2) Type 1105, press OK.
3) Installation Menu appears.
4) Move to Network Setup. Press OK.
5) Network Menu appears.

6) Select one of the WOL methods according to TV Model:


 Set WOL (Wakeup Frame) to Power ON, or
 Set WOL (Magic Packet) to Power ON

41.4 Factory Reset


Enables to delete content and update as requested.
1) Press MENU key, Select SETUP.

2) Setup Menu appears, move with down arrows to OPTION menu and press OK.

41.5 To assign LG remote turn on method


You can select the method to remotely turn on LG Devices. Set it to MagicFrame or WakeupFrame
1) Login to Admin. Tools Console, click Tools>Parameter Maintenance.
2) Filter by NevoTVAgent Module.
3) Browse to LGWolMethod parameter.
4) Enter MagicFrame or WakeupFrame into parameter value field. (case sensistive)

5) Click Update.

41.6 To assign Network Card IP Address as Server IP Address


If IP Address is not correctly targeted, TV will be offline.
XMLUpdater.exe copies files from NevoTVInstallationPath parameter, checks
NevoTVInstallationPath parameter value from AdministrativeTools, Tools>Parameter Maintenance.
XMLUpdater.exe will zip all files under c:\inetpub\wwwroot\NevoTV\Pages\Lg\offline\ so that it
can also be used to copy video or any content to TV local.Its default value
c:\inetpub\wwwroot\NevoTV\Pages\Lg\offline\
Please change parameter value if installation path is different the default value.

1) In C:\inetpub\wwwroot\NevoTV\Pages\Lg\offline\ folder
Open initial.html and update following line with the server IP address.
var IPAddress = "10.1.2.65";
2) Execute XMLUpdater.exe under C:\Program Files(x86)\Nevotek\NevoTV\XMLUpdater folder.
XMLUpdater.exe creates configuration for a specific IP Address.
3) Configure Target IP Address (server IP Address) via AdministrativeTools, Tools>Parameter
Maintenance, edit NetworkCardIPAddress.
After XMLUpdater.exe finishes running:
 LGNevoTV folder should be created under C:\inetpub\wwwroot and it should contain
nevotv.zip.
 Procentric folder should be created under C:\inetpub\wwwroot and it should contain
xait.xml

41.7 To convert LGNevoTV and procentric paths to web application


For LG TV’s to be able to download XX file, following paths should be converted to web
application:
 C:\inetpub\wwwroot\LGNevoTV
 C:\inetpub\wwwroot\procentric

Following command can be sent to LG devices.


 Reload: TV must be on turned to execute this command.
 Reboot: TV must be on turned on to execute this command.
 Power On: TV can be turned on with WakeupFrame or MagicFrame. Make sure these
setting are enabled on TV.
 Power Off: TV must be on turned on to execute this command.
 Update Content: Runs XMLUpdater.exe in 3 minutes.
 Check Online Status: Devices’ online status can be checked via check online status button
but this will take some time if there are so many reccords. To monitor all device status
NevoTV_DeviceStatusController.exe must be scheduled.
 DeviceStatusController.exe updates IsDeviceOnline column in T_GLB_Device. LG
Management page show online/offline status accourding to IsDeviceOnline column in
T_GLB_Device. DeviceStatusController.exe is located under C:\Program Files
(x86)\Nevotek\NevoTV\NevoTV_RatingController folder

41.9 User Interface Language selection


UI Language Selection enables an admin user to edit which languages are going to be available
to user to change his/her TV language. When the language is enabled, the language will appear
as an option to the user, if the user chooses this language as his/her TV language the TV will reload
and open up in that language.
Minimum requirements:
UniTVWebApplications 7.5.11.0; UniTVContentUpdater 7.5.11.0; NevoTV 7.5.11.0 and
NevoTVManagement 7.5.11.0.
1) Login to Content Manager console, click Parameters-Menu and create Language menu and

4) Login to the Admin. Tools console, select User>Guest Operations.
5) In Checkin section, under Check Guest(s) tick checkbox next to the user/room.
6) Click drop-down menu of Movie Rights as shown below and select No Adult Movie, and then

Video on Demand (VOD) is a system which allow users to select (purchase) and watch/listen to
video (movie) content on demand.
Minimum requirements: UniTVWebApplications, UniTVContentUpdater and NevoTVManagement
must be installed.

41.11.1 To create VOD menu icon; Movies


1) Login to Content Manager. Click Parameters>Menu.
2) (If there is not Movies added before, click Add new record.)
3) Click Images link to add Menu icon image. Select device model as Chameleon.

41.11.2 To create a VOD item


Here you can define movies. Movie categories and items become visible after adding to the
Movie Schema and User Trees. See Tree Management for details.

1) Login to CONTENT MANAGER. Click Parameters->Movies. Click Add New record.


Enter required data, Item URL must be in the format:

Demand feature. Movie categories and items become visible after adding to the Movie Schema
and User Trees. See Tree Management for details.
1) Login to CONTENT MANAGER. Click Parameters->Movies.
2) Click Add New record.
3) Enter Movie category name into name field as shown in the example below. (e.g. Action,
Comedy, Drama,etc.)
4) Click drop-down list of Node Type and select as Category.

7) Create and assign Movie category to the Movie Schema and User Trees.

You can assign an information or advertisement text to be displayed on TV’s at given time within a
time interval.

41.12.1 To add a banner image


Banner image can be implemented only for Flash Mode LG TVs.
1) Click Banner Management->Banners in Content Manager Console.
2) Banner page appears. Click Add new record.
3) Select Banner Type as Image.
4) Enter name. (e.g. Transportation)
5) Enter definition. (e.g. Taxis available)
6) Enter duration of the Banner in miliseconds.
7) Click Browse and select image. (Banner image size is 1366X768 JPG)
8) Click Insert.
9) Start UniTV Content Updater. Select Hotel.

A unit group should be defined to assign banners.You can assign banner to the certain rooms you
select or assign banner to all the rooms.

1) Login to Admin. Tools Console, click Unit->Unit Groups.


2) Click New Group.
3) Enter a Unit Group Name (e.g. Banner)for the Unit Group to be assigned for banner.
4) Enter group description.
5) Select Hotel.
6) Select Unit Group Type as Banner.
7) Click on the room in available Rooms field, or Shift-click to add more than one room, click left
arrow button to move to Assigned Rooms field.

8) Click Save

41.13.1 To schedule Banner


1) In CONTENT MANAGER console, click Banner Management->Banners.
2) Click Schedule at the right of the Banner.
3) Select Banner Queue Type according to following options:
Banner Queue Types
 Add as First: If there are two banners, banner
scheduled as “Add as First” will be played first.
 Override: If a new banner is scheduled as “Override”
while a banner is being displayed, existing banner is
stopped and new banner will start to be displayed
 Add as Last: If there are two banners, banner
scheduled as “Add as Last” will be played last.
 Play After Current: New scheduled banner will be
displayed after current banner.
 Append: Same as “Override”. Mostly used if only one
banner is scheduled.
 No tickers: Banner will not be displayed.
4) Select Unit Group.
5) Select period of banner as daily, weekly,monthly or once.
Banner Schedule (Once): if you schedule a banner once, it will play on TV once and stop.
6) Click clock icon and set time.
7) Enter a number to schedule banner number of defined day times.
e.g. if you enter 3 it will be repeated for 3 days.
8) You can enter advanced settings by ticking Scheduler Advanced Settings checkbox under
Advanced Scheduler Settings section.
9) Click Save Task.
10) Start UniTV Content Updater. Select Hotel.
11) Click Update.
12) Turn off and on TV.

41.14 MediaHub for LG-Flash version


This feature is used to enable DVD Player to be displayed on TV.
It can be created in two ways: as a selection menu or one-option menu for HDMI.
In selection menu, first a menu is displayed, menu includes: Component, HDMI1, HDMI2, RGB, AV.
Active items are highlighted. Connection is Selected and OK is pressed twice to display DVD on TV.

MediaHub should be created as TV menu icon


1) Login to Content Manager console, click Parameters->Menu.
2) Click Add new record to add new menu item.
3) Enter Media Hub into Name field.
4) Enter mediahub into Item URL field.
5) Click Insert.
6) Operation completed successfully message appears.
7) New menu parameter appears in the Menu Item Parameters list. Click Images.
8) Pop-up window appears. Click Add new record.
9) Select Device Type as STB.
10) Select Device Model as Chameleon.
11) Click Browse to select the image. Width: 66 Height: 70px image format should be swf. Click

NG-side configurations
For Input menu menu item should be defined via NevoTVManagement.
1) Login to Content Manager Console, click Parameters > Menu Items.
2) Menu item url should be “input”
3) Menu item image should be uploaded from
C:\inetpub\wwwroot\NevoTV\Images\Enseo\DesignRed folder.

4) Save/update.
5) New input item should be added via NevoTVManagement.
6) Login to Content Manager Console, click Parameters>Input Items.

12) Define Input Button Target and Input Button Target Item parameters as required.

42.3 To enable the Smart Applications on LG TVs in HTML mode


In order to enable Smart Applications, the application ID which is unique from TV model to TV
model is required. To find out Smart Application ID, STBManagement.exe application will be used.
You need to put those IDs while adding menu icon, you need to put application ID as Item URL.
Minimum requirements
 STBManagement.exe

42.4 To find out the smart app’s ID in LG;


1) Clear NevoTV logs from C:/ProgramFiles/Nevotek/NevoTM/log/nevotv folder.
2) Run STBManagement.exe in NG
server where NevoTV is installed.
3) STB Management window
appears.
4) Copy the IP address and Mac
Address of device from NevoTV
management
Enter LG TV’s IP address into
WOL Server IP.
Enter MAC Address into Mac
Address field.
5) Enter lg.getapp into Command
field.
6) Click SEND.
7) A log will be created under under C:/Programfiles/Nevotek/NevoTM/Log/NevoTV as
nevotvwebxxxx. When you open the log file you will see below yellow highlighted application
id for green highlighted LG Smart app.
Please do not forget those codes change according to TV model.
8) Check the NevoTV logs. list[0].id returns the id of the smart application. This should be used in
Nevotv.

42.5 Phonebook Multilanguage


This feature enables to forward guests to related language call centers at reception.
For example:
1001 - ENG, TUR
1002 - FRA
1003 - Russian
When the customer calls Room Service call will be forwarded to the call center according to the
guest’s language.
Minimum requirements:
NevoTV > 7.5.20.100,
NG.NevoTV GAC > 7.5.20.23,
Administrative Tools > 7.5.20.56,
NG.Mobile Comfort WEB > 7.5.20.23
NevotekCallWatchToolkit->7.6.1.9

Admin.Tools configuration
1) Loign to Admin. Tools console, click Tools>Parameter Maintenance.
2) Filter by NevoTV Agent.
3) Browse to NGMobileComfortIP and edit by clicking pen icon next to it.
4) Enter Server IP.
5) Click Update.

Content manager configuration


To add a phone book category:
1) Login to Content Manager Console, click Parameters>Guide.
2) Click Add new.
3) First define Phone Book as category. Item URL should be empty.

4) Click Insert.
To add a Phone Book Item:
1) Login to Content Manager Console, click Parameters>Guide.
2) Click Add new.
3) Item URL should be empty.Category should be unticked.

4) Click Insert.

5) To create schema tree go to page Tree>Schema>Guide.


6) Category name must be Phone Book

7) To create a master tree Click Tree > Guide and add items to Phone Book category.

9) To add menu item Login to Content Manager console, click Parameters > Menu.
10) Click Add New item.

Minimum requirements:

1) Login to Administrative Tools console, click Unit>Unit Properties.
2) Browse to NevoTV section, set following camera parameters:
DoorCameraInput: door camera input source (e.g. HDMI2)
DoorCameraReturnDuration: the time (in second) to go back to TV again. (Default 20 sec)

3) To add a Door Camera to menu, login to Content Manager console, click Parameter>Menu.
4) Make sure Item Url of Door Camera is doorcamera.
5) Click Update.
