Persepolis II Final Project

Nicole Stoklosa
Period-1
After a close reading of Persepolis II by Marjane
Satrapi, the thematic topic that stands out is Women
and Feminity.

The universal truth that I get about this topic is a one

step process of change that can create new narrative
forms of a person as to becoming a conniving female.
The first key event that begins the development of the
thematic statement occurs when Julie was organizing a
party. Marji wanted to look good for the party. Julie
seeing Marjane, she fixed her up making her more
beautiful from the use of make-up put on her. From
that point on Marjane used makeup as a sense of her
development as a woman and her identity.

The second key event that continues the development
of the thematic statement occurs when not, exactly,
joining a anarchists party, Marjane and Enrique both
hanged out with his friends until they went inside to go
to sleep. Not having enough space, Ingrid both offered
them a room that Marji’s relationship was plantonic
because of her religion. Marjane wanted to lose her
innocence and virginity.

The last key event that furthers the development of the
thematic statement occurs when Marjane arrived
made-up waiting for Reza until she saw the streets full
of guardians of the revolution arrive. If she weared
makeup she would be punished for the actions that she
made to herself. Marji wanted to blame a innocent
stranger, by saying lies that he had said something
indecent.
