My dear Peter: I have now gone over the music and dubbing of "Notorious", and am happy to say that with certain readjustments and shifting around of the existing music material there will be very little additional work to be done. It should not amount to more than two or three hours extra music recording. . I have been assured that everything will be finished well in time to have the copy ready for that July first date. I would like very much to add: one final touch to the end of the film and that is -- when the door closes on Claude Rains we should hear a woman scream. This would give us a little added kick to fade out on. I don't know whether or not Perry Leiber has told you, but I am also happy to know that the first critic reactions are extremely enthusiastic ones.
