MARKETS AND AGRICULTURAL TRADE IMPROVEMENT PROGRAMME – PROJECT 2 (MATIP-2)

1. This Invitation for Bids (IFB) follows the General Procurement Notice (GPN) for this Project that appeared in
United Nations Development Business online (UNDB online) on 10th February 2015, and on the African
Development Bank’s Internet Website (www.afdb.org).

2. The Government of the Republic of Uganda has received a loan from the African Development Fund
towards the cost of Markets and Agricultural Trade Improvement Programme – Project 2 (MATIP-2).
It is intended that part of the proceeds of this loan will be applied to eligible payments under the contracts
for the construction of markets in seven (7) Municipalities as indicated in (7) below following works:-

3. The Ministry of Local Government (The Employer) now invites sealed Bids from eligible Bidders for the
construction and completion of the markets described above. Bidding will be conducted in accordance with
the African Development Bank's Rules and Procedures for Procurement of Goods and Works

4. Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from and inspect the bidding documents at the
address in (8) below.

5. A complete set of Bidding Documents may be purchased by interested bidders upon the submission of a
written application to the above address and upon payment of a non-refundable fee of UGX 500,000/=
(Uganda Shillings Five Hundred Thousand only). Per Lot

6. The provisions in the Instructions to Bidders and in the General Conditions of Contract are the provisions of
the African Development Bank Standard Bidding Document for Procurement of Works

7. Bids must be delivered to the above address at or before 10:00am local time (=GMT + 3) on 16 June
2017 and must be accompanied by a bid security of in form of a Bank Guarantee as follows:
