Guidelines for submitting ORAL and POSTER abstracts

Preparing abstracts

1. The abstract must report original research. Qualitative research and

narratives are also welcome. You may structure the abstract in an appropriate
manner.
2. The text of the abstract should preferably be in English.
3. There should be a maximum of one table or graph or picture in the abstract,
though the poster has no such limits.
4. The text should not exceed 300 words (including title, author details, and
affiliations).
5. Standard abbreviations of SI units should be used if relevant.
6. Use font “Times New Roman” size 12 with single spacing on A4 paper.
7. Ethics approval should have been obtained in the case of interventional
studies.
8. If the work has been submitted or presented in whole or in part elsewhere,
please indicate this in the declaration form. This will not disqualify the
submission but must be declared. medicalhumanities@med.cmb.ac.lk
9. The Editorial Committee reserves the right to alter the text of the abstract to
improve its quality.
10. Please use the attached Abstract Form for completing your submission.
