Mercury is the closest planet from the sun.

Mercury is a battered and baked planet just

larger than earth’s moon. Mercury orbits the sun
is a about 88 days but takes 58 earth days to
rotate once. The distance from the sun is 0.58 x
10e8 it takes the light from the sun 190 seconds
to reach to mercury. Mercury has no moons and
it’s the second largest planet measured by mass.
Venus is the hottest planet in the solar system
and the brightest of all planets. This planet is the
same size of earth it takes 225 to orbit the sun.
the surface temperatures up to 464 degrees. The
distance from the sun is 1.1 x 10e8. it takes the
light from the sun 360 seconds to travel to
Venus.
Earth is the planet we live on. It is 4.6 billion
years old. it is the 3rd planet from the sun and it
is the 5th largest planet in the solar system. The
speed of light from the sun is 1.5 x 10e8. it takes
the light 500 seconds to reach to earth.
Mars has the largest canyon in the solar system.
Mars has a very thin atmosphere, mostly carbon
dioxide, but dust storms can cover the whole
planet for months at a time. The planet has two
moons. It would take about 6 months for a
spacecraft to get to mars. The speed of light
from the sun is 23.3 x 10e8. it takes the light 760
seconds to reach to earth
Jupiter Takes about 12 years to orbit the sun and
rotates about 10 hours. The short Jupiter day is
amazing since the planet is roughly 11 earth
diameters wide. Jupiter has known 39 moons.
Jupiter is a ball of dense hydrogen, helium,
water, nitrogen, and other gases over a tiny
rocky core. the speed of light from the sun is 7.8
x 10e8 It takes the light 43 minutes to reach to
Jupiter. Jupiter is also the largest planet in the
solar system.
Saturn is the second largest planet in the solar
system. Saturn has seven thin, flat rings around
it. A couple of planets have rings, but their rings
are much fainter than those around Saturn. the
speed of light is 14.0 x 10e8 it takes the light
from the sun 1 hour 20 minutes to travel to
Saturn.
Uranus is hanging like a giant cue ball in space
Uranus has hidden its secrets in frozen gases.
The icy planet is a smaller version of Jupiter. It
have faint rings and it rotates on its side and so
half the time one pole is toward the sun. the
speed of light is 29.0 x 10e8 it takes the light
from the sun 2 hours 40 minutes to travel to
Uranus.
Neptune is one of the solar system gas giants.
Gas giants are mostly hydrogen, helium, and
methane gases. Neptune gives the planet its
color because it absorbs red light and reflects
blue back into space. the speed of light is 45.0 x
10e8 it takes the light from the sun 4 hours 40
minutes to travel to Neptune
Pluto is a dwarf planet far from the sun. Pluto is
a small rocky object that lies at the very edge of
the solar system. Pluto is so cold that nitrogen
and oxygen which we breathe so easily on earth
it orbit about 248 years sometimes it takes inside
Neptune’s orbit. the speed of light is 59.0 x 10e8
it takes the light from the sun 5 hours 30 minutes
to travel to Pluto
