air. Summer vacation means quality time with family, fun and frolic,
opportunity to learn something new and interesting, time to indulge in
activities of choice and much more. Kids are filled with enthusiasm to
explore. Let’s make these vacations a learning experience for our
children by instiling some core skills in them. Following are some
activities that can help you in making our kid’s vacation purposeful ........
1. Encouraging children to begin the day by counting his/her blessings
and winding up with five minutes of reflection.
2. Going for nature walk to let them explore the beauty of nature.,
3. Having atleast two meals together and teaching them the value of
resources, thus making it a quality hour.
4. Visiting neighbours, uncles, aunts, cousions and grandparents.
Their love and support will enhance the bond between them.
5. Sharing stories of your childhood and your family history will help
them staying rooted.

6. Avoiding chocolates, aerated drinks and junk food items.
7. Keeping them away from mobile phones, television, computers and
other electronic gadgets as far as possible.
8. Allowing them to play outdoors.
9. Practicing english conversation with them.
10. Buying story books and planning a ‘Reading Hour’ with them will
help to develop their love for reading.

1) P, Q and R are partners sharing profits and losses in the ratio of 3:2:5. They admit S and give him ¼
share. This share is contributed by them in the ratio of 1:1:3. (Ans: 5:3:7:5)
2) K, L and M are partners sharing profits and losses in the ratio of 3:2:1. They admit N for 1/6 share. M
would retain his original share. Find out New Ratio. (Ans: 12:8:5:5)
3) Ram and Shyam are partners in a firm sharing profits in the ratio of 7:5. Mohan is admitted on 1/6th
share which he takes 1/24th from Ram and 1/8th from Shyam. Calculate the new profit sharing ratio of

4) A and B were carring on a business of manufacturing of toys in the ratio of 4:3. C joined them as a

SERIOUS DISCUSSION BETWEEN AHMAD AND ALLY REGARDING THE NATURE OF MANAGEMENT, IN WHICH
AHMAD ARGUED THAT MANAGEMENT WAS A PROFESSION WHEREAS ALLY ARGUED AGAINST IT SAYING THAT
THE LEGAL AND MEDICAL PROFESSIONS ARE THE ONLY TRUE PROFESSIONS BECAUSE THEY FULFILL ALL THE
CONDITIONS OF A PROFESSION. ON THE BASIS OF HIS KNOWLEDGE OF BUSINESS STUDIES, AMAN EXPLAINED
THE NATURE OF MANAGEMENT AS A PROFESSION TO AHMAD AND ALLY. EXPLAIN HOW AMAN WOULD HAVE
SATISFIED BOTH AHMAD AND ALLY?

16. Kamal, Khan and David are partners in a firm engaged in the distribution of dairy products in Madhya
Pradesh. Kamal is a holder of Senior Secondary School Certificate from the Central Board of Secondary
Education with Business Studies as one of his elective subjects. Khan had completed post-graduation in Hindi
literature and David in dairy farming. One day there was a serious discussion between Khan and David
regarding the nature of ‘management as a science’. Khan argued that management was not a science whereas
David was of the opinion that management was a science. Kamal intervened and corrected both Khan and
David about the nature of management as a science with the help of his knowledge in business studies.
Explain how Kamal would have been able to satisfy both Khan and David.
