In order to welcome the incoming Grade 11 students of LCC

SilverCrest and to recognize those studeents who performed well and

excelled academically last school year 2017 -2018, the said institution
conducted an Opening and Recognition Ceremony last June 14, 2018 with
the theme: “Back to School: Buckle Up and Rule!” The ceremony started 8:30
in the morning, hosted by Mr. Nardito C. Quinones Jr. and Ms. Rhealyn
Marquez, both faculty members of SHS Department of LCC SilverCrest.

Moreover, Mr. Eric S. Masupil, the OIC of SHS Department of LCC

SilverCrest, finally opened the program through the opening remarks after
singing the Philippine National Anthem and invocaton led by Ms. Mercy D.
Alfon. As Mr. Masupil welcomed and acknowledged all the visitors, most
especially the new faces who will begin their journey as a Senior High School
student on their institution, he explained why the ceremony is themed as
such. According to him, Buckle Up means to prepare, and Rule has
something to do with whom shall the students rule over and what shall they
rule, which simply means students have to rule over themeselves. Going
further, to introduce the school, Mr. Masupil showed the new logos of each
strands. Basically, the institution were promoting six (6) strands as follows :
ABM, GAS, HE, HUMMSS, ICT and lastly the STEM strand.

As the program went on, Dr. Catalina Dayon, the Vice President of the
Academic Affair, delivered her inspirational message, emphasizing that the
ceremony was dedicated to Ms. Liezl, the principal of t he SHS Department of
LCC SilverCrest. She encouraged the students to do their best during their
stay on the school and she also highlighted the importance of possessing
positive attributes as the students reach for their dreams.

To give more information about the school, the committee of the

program prepared and presented an audio visual presentation. The
presentation includes the achievements of the LCC SilverCrest SHS for the
past two years. Right after watching the AVP, selected students of G -12 SHS
students present the LCC Jingle entitled Your Journey Begins With Us.
During the program,selected students from different strands prepared an
intermission number, ICT students serenade the guests and the rest of the
strands prepared an awakening and lively d ance number. This only means
that the students in LCC SilverCrest SHS are talented and competitive not
only academically but also on the other aspects of their activities within and
outside the school.

For the second part of the ceremony, which is the reco gnition of those
students who earned high average and excelled on their class academically,
Mr. Eric Masupil and Dr. Catalina Dayon were invited to be on stage together
with the strand coordinators of ABM, GAS, HE, HUMSS, ICT and the STEM
to give the certificates of the students. Parents of the achievers were also
invited to come on stage as they received their awards. This will serve
as their inspiration and motivation to continue their journey.

Moreover, LCC SilverCrest proudly present the new LCC Jingle, which
was composed by the Grade 12 students. It ’s just a proof that the students
in the said institution are naturally talented and possess leadership,
competence and commitment. Continuing the program, one of the HUMSS
students give tribute to the parents and teachers through spoken poetry
where she pointed out that there are persons who are more exhausted doing
their responsibilities but to quit never came to their mind instead, they have
to continue their jobs for the students who are relying on them a nd for their
children who needs their moral and finacial support. The mes sage of that
spoken poetry for all of the students who are inside the gymnasium that time
is simply not to quit when they got tired but to rest instead, to breath and
thought of the reason why they started their journey.

Finally, Ms. Kriselyn Acosta, the strand coordinator of HUMSS, ended

the program with her closing remarks. Singing the LCC Hymn, is the last part
of the ceremony as part of welcoming the new members of the LCC
SilverCrest SHS Department.
