SUMMER INTERNSHIP
GENERAL GUIDELINES FOR SUMMER INTERNSHIP

1. Students shall take up the Summer Internship with all sincerity from (04-06-2018).
2. Students shall take prior permission from companies for their internship including
accommodation. No single day will be wasted for searching accommodation or
companies.
3. Students are advised to give the joining report duly signed by the company guide to the
faculty supervisor on 15.06.2018.
4. The first review meeting will be on 04.07.2018. Students must present themselves with
a broad outline on that day.
5. The students shall be punctual in reporting to organization every day. They shall
observe the timings (Check in / Check out) as indicated by the organization. Please
adhere to the timelines strictly
6. The students shall be in touch with the mentors throughout the period of the internship
7. The students shall make sure to achieve the targets, sales objectives
8. Dress formally/appropriately on all days
9. The students shall adhere to the instructions by the organization meticulously.
10. The students shall maintain perfect discipline and conduct themselves in a dignified
way. They shall uphold the traditions of our Institute. They shall not pick up quarrel
or enter in to any argument with the employees of the organization.
11. Students shall not cause any damage to the property of the organization while
undertaking the Summer Internship.
12. The students shall spend the time in the organization usefully; concentrating on the
Summer Internship work with utmost sincerity.
13. It is proposed to pay a visit by the Placement In-charge to the organization while the
student is pursuing the Summer Internship. Any adverse report received by our faculty
from the organization will be viewed seriously.
14. They shall also get to know the significant achievements and milestones crossed, special
R&D efforts, specific management techniques for successful running of business etc.
15. They shall keep a record of what they have learnt (like a diary/log) on a day to day
basis and mail a report for each week on or before every Sunday to the faculty
supervisor in department for his review, evaluation and feedback. Format will be
provided to the
16. They shall obtain a satisfactory Summer Internship completion and “Attendance
Certificate” from the head of the organization or any appropriate authority and
“Completion Certificate” certifying that the Summer Internship was undertaken by
the student for the entire period allotted for the same. Completion Certificate has to be
included in the report.
17. Soon after completion of the Summer Internship each student shall submit a record of
work done, knowledge and exposure gained, in the form of a written report. The rough
draft of written report should be submitted during the commencement of 3rdSemsester
(on or before 18.07.18). The final report should be submitted on or before 1st August
2018. It is for this reason; the students are advised to maintain a diary/log on a day to
day basis, so that compilation at the completion of the Summer Internship may not pose
any problem. Once the weekly reports are consolidated, preparation of the final report
for submission would be easy.
18. The date will not be extended to anybody for any reason

Deliverables:
 1 copy of the typed and bound format and the PPT format of the report has to be
submitted on 18th July, to the mentors for the review
 Corrections/ changes to be incorporated and 3 copies of the final version of the
report and PPT to be submitted on 1st August, 2018
 Project Viva-Voce will be on the 3rd of August 2018 for all students in 3 panels.

Writing Style
1. Reports should be as long as they need to be—no longer
2. A table or figure should be inserted into the report only after referring to them in the
text
3. Reference to a figure should have a brief description and what/how it contributes to
the point
4. References must be numbered in the order that they are cited
5. A suitable font is Times New Roman, 12.5pt
6. A uniform verb tense should be used throughout the report, preferably past tense
7. Since the reports are formal, the first person (singular “I” or plural “we”) should not
be used
8. All pages, including figure pages, should be numbered consecutively
9. Overly long sentences should be avoided. Two or more short sentences should be
used instead
10. Needlessly fancy presentation (bold, italic or underline or color) should be avoided
unless it truly enhances the clarity of the report
