This study attempted to describe the teachers’ classroom management approaches among
selected senior high school teachers in Manila. The design used was a descriptive study to
describe the classroom management approaches used by the teachers of Manila.

The findings revealed that most of the teachers often applied the seven approaches to
classroom management. They are the Assertive, Business Managerial, Behavior Modification,
Group Managerial, Group Guidance, Acceptance and Success Approaches.

Teachers addressed the problems in classroom management by inviting parents to school

and moralizing them were the most commonly claimed reactions of teacher-respondents.

Referring to high authority and enforcing school rules and regulations are the least used by the
teachers.
The Department of Education (DepEd) should provide in-service trainings, simulations,
seminars, conferences and other educational programs for teachers in Manila Schools Division.
All of these should help in the use of those teachers’ classroom management approaches.

This research geared only to classroom management approaches of the selected senior
high school teachers of Manila Schools Division. Teachers should choose the approaches to be
used that would best fit the needs of their own classroom in the different learning areas. Some
recommendations are also presented with the same goal of improving the classroom management
approaches and skills in managing classrooms.
